Sooo good! It seems that the author has got her mojo back. Not that she had lost it completely before, but couple of the books before this one, wasn't as enjoyable, something was off. This one however, was a "BOOM, I'm back bitches".

This time we got to travel to the heart of the Brazilian jungle. Very fun trip. Loved Jack. To quote Hawk "The balls on this broad." Indeed. She is not your tipica heroine in these types of stories. She takes no shit from anyone, not even from the big bad Alpha with a ginormous cock. I loved her all the more for it. The scene where she wanted to climb a tree was one of my favorites in the book.

There was instant lust, but no instant love and I liked that a lot.
Geissinger's sense of humor is right up my alley.
Her discription of animals and nature is incredible. This book reminded me why I fell in love with the series in the first place and I can't wait to dig in into the next book.

4.5 Stars! This one is my favorite so far. I like that Jack was brought to the colony and most of the story was done there. I still hate that the sadistic alpha's are still a thing in this book. It does look like that might finally have gotten taken care of. It should have been done sooner. I loved the conclusion of Ceasar. I had not guessed how they would take him out with his immortality but it was brilliant. I'm intrigued by how things are going to be handled in the last book especially how this one ended. I'm off to go read it!

Unfreakingbelievable!! I swear this book is the best of J.T.Geissinger's Night Prowler Series and that is saying a lit because Ms. Geissinger has set the bar incredibly high.
Occasionally you find a series that captures your attention the minute you open the cover if the first book. J.T. Geissinger's Night Prowlers was just that type of series. Creative, unique and completely wonderful! Sadly we are nearing the end of this fantastic series as it's only a six book series and Darkness Bound is book five. While I admire, Ms. Geissinger for knowing how to end a series, I find I have mixed feelings about book six.. the sooner it comes out, the sooner the series will end (bummer) BUT.. if I judge from what has come before, it's going to be freakin AWESOME.

But for now, let's talk about Darkness Bound.

The Ikati have been outed and the world is judging them on the behavior of the oh so crazed Ceasar. They are convinced that the ikati must be eliminated, wipe the species off the face of the earth. So now along with a fanatically religious order that's sole purpose is to wipe out the "evil" that exists, a secret organization that wants to capture and "study" them, now the entire human race is after them. Forced to leave their homes and settle into the only compound that is yet undiscovered. Add to all that is a reporter with an attitude that has inflamed the masses...

Jacqueline “Jack” Dolan has worked hard to get to the top. Having been embedded with the troops all over the world, she is hard hitting and tells it like it is. Her entire adulthood has been built around showing how tough she is. Hiding the void within. When she writes an article on the evils of the Ikarti she starts the ball rolling. They are evil and must be exterminated, using Caesar's actions for her reference. Yep destroy a people that have been around for millennia because one person claims to be king (and is a certifiable) wack job. But Jack is among the self righteous and knows she is right.

"Hawk" Luna is the "least son" one of the few illegitimate children in the Ikati world he has forever remained on the outside. It doesn't help that his father was a sadistic animal who beat his two oldest sons (sending one to assassins school - the one who should be Alpha) and leaving his second son (Hawk) to the self entitled hands of the younger, legitimate brother. A sleazy, indulgent, self entitled leach. Forbidden by Ikati laws to leave and live elsewhere he is stuck as the omega cat.. Only this man is special and while he lives as isolated as possible, he is the one who all can truly rely on.

When Hawk is sent to find a way to silence Jack the two all but combust. Chemistry explodes and a night of passions ensues. But Hawk manages to keep his head and comes up with a nefarious plot to destroy her. Using her camera he takes some rather explicit pictures. While the initial concept was to destroy her career, it is decided to blackmail her instead. Kidnapping her and bringing her to the Ikati compound. Meet them as they really are and tell the truth.

Of course nothing is ever that simple... Hawk and Jack have a hard path to follow and their attraction to each other only makes it harder. It's a forbidden relationship. But Jack manages to impress everyone with her actions, especially the sleazy Alpha's.

And that's just Jack and Hawk's story... The Queen has had to hold up her move because of childbirth but they are finally underway. But first she must root out a traitor... Oh yeah it gets good!

See? Absofreakinlutly unbelievable! A five plus story.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:
*Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review

J.T Geissinger has a sensual quality to her work. Not the content - though that, at times, can be quite sexy! - but the silken prose. It flows with a harmony that is impossible not to be swept up in and settles in your brain like the most memorable of compositions. There's a reason J.T is an award winning author, and reading the NIGHT PROWLER novels, for me, is always a highly anticipated and thoroughly enjoyable treat and reminiscent of the some of the best movies I've sat down to enjoy over the years.

Like all of the NIGHT PROWLER books, Darkness Bound grabs your attention immediately. Starting out like the best action movie where a 'call to arms' state of the union address is being made, we're introduced to investigative reporter Jacqueline Dolan and her beliefs via a snippet from her "Enemy Among Us" article. Snap to the rainforests, where Hawk, the brother of the current Alpha there, is tasked with teaching the prejudiced woman a lesson she won't soon forget and coercing her into writing a retraction...

The couple's initial meeting was hilarious, super sexy, and the start of something way bigger than either of them would have ever anticipated. When Hawk finally gets Jack back to the jungle and the rest of the tribe, they're embroiled in tons of Colony politics and there was surprise after surprise.

There were things I adored about Jack and Hawk's journey, there were things I absolutely hated (I can't tell you what they were though, because it's a big spoiler to the plot), but one thing remained a constant... I was absolutely glued to the page every step of the way and couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Action, intrigue, and romance around ever turn, peppered by character development of past series characters, a great leading couple, an expansion of the plot arc of the series in general that literally made me gasp, and a set up for what looks to be one of the most thrilling installments of the series yet in Into Darkness coming in the Fall.

I highly recommend the entire NIGHT PROWLER series to al Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance readers and cannot wait to see what J.T has in store for us next. I will admit, there were things about the last book that made me a bit afraid that the series was hitting its plateau, but Darkness Bound gave me confidence that there is PLENTY more to tell with these characters and this story, and I cannot wait to see what's next.

The Romance Review
Do you love shifters? DARKNESS BOUND is a fabulous paranormal romance with a new-to-me author, Ms. Geissinger. For those who love Christine Feehan's Leopard series, the Night Prowler series is for you. Full disclosure, I did not read the first four books in this series. I jumped into the fifth book and easily caught up to speed with the world building and storyline.

Jacqueline Dolan aka Jack is an investigative reporter who possesses a death wish. She travels to hostile locations during dangerous situations. The fact that she hasn't been killed or maimed is quite amazing. She also seems to be a person who is running from her past. She makes the mistake of writing an article pushing for the destruction of all shape-shifters known as the Ikati. Instead of killing her in retaliation, the Ikati uses her as a way to change public opinion. Although, to enlighten Jack, the Ikati need to cross some questionable lines. Hawk is the poor Ikati male forced to bring Jack to the colony and watch over her. It's not an easy task.

Hawk is the abused bastard son of the previous alpha. He's literally a whipping boy and it's despicable. The way Hawk is treated makes me rage with a thirst for vengeance. He's antisocial and just wants to be left alone. Unfortunately, the current alpha is an asshole and his legitimate younger half-brother. When Hawk is paired up with Jack, their life will never be the same.

The world building in this book is familiar and easy to follow. Since I've read similar themes like this one, it is easy to pick up the story from any of the books. What makes this book good for me is the character building. Hawk and Jack are both damaged from their childhood. It's hard pressed for some readers to pick which one is worse. Personally, I feel that Jack's childhood is the worst. The trauma she experienced impacted her entire family and the repercussions were severe. When Hawk and Jack open up to each other through their trials, it is a beautiful thing to watch. They both change for the better. It's not ideal, yet it's still a step closer to acceptance and understanding. This is the message I applaud Ms. Geissinger for slipping into her story. It's pretty obvious she's hoping for a better world where there are no bigots and people work together for a better tomorrow. She does it in a slightly heavy-handed manner, yet it's balanced well with the romance in this story.

While I never experienced the trauma Hawk and Jack went through as a kid and they aren't people I can identify with, I still bonded with them. This is what makes a book good for me. When characters are different from me and yet I still empathize with them and admire them, it's a great read. The emotions this story pulls from me make the book memorable and enjoyable. A reader will run the gamut of feelings when reading this tale--anger, sadness, frustration, hope and happiness. Ms. Geissinger creates just the right blend of emotions for a satisfying journey. She ends it on a lovely note.

Instead [redacted] said in a steady, soft voice, those blue eyes burning, "[redacted], you underhanded son of a dung beetle...I love you. With all my heart and soul, I love you. I'm not a religious person, but because of you, I believe in miracles. You taught me how to be loved. I never knew what that meant before, I was too busy feeling terrible and hating myself" (Kindle loc. on 5960-5963)

This is a story beautiful story of two lost people finding their way together. Recommended for romantics who never give up hope.

REVIEW: DARKNESS BOUND is the fifth and second to last instalment in J.T. Geissinger’s contemporary, adult Night Prowler paranormal /UF series focusing on a supernatural species of panther shifters known as the Ikati. Facing off against a multitude of enemies, the Ikati must endure bigotry, specieism and discrimination at the hands of the frightened human population as well as one of their own. This is Ikati panther Hawk Luna, and reporter (and human) Jacqueline Dolan’s storyline.

Told from several distinct close third person POVs, the storyline focuses on Jacqueline’s (aka Jack) hatred of all things Ikati. Having written a Pulitzer Prize nominated article denouncing the panther shifter species, Jack will find herself the target of the very group she has destroyed in the eyes of public opinion. Hoping to make Jack see the error of her ways, the Ikati tribe (of Brazil) commission Hawk Luna to bring Jacqueline to her knees. What know one had expected was for Hawk to lose his heart to the woman who was hell bent on the destruction of his kind.

The relationship between Hawk and Jacqueline is combative, aggressive and at times bordering the edge of insanity. Their attraction to one another is instant; the sex is passionate and yet Hawk knows this is the woman who has placed a very large target on all of the Ikati around the world. When the entire Ikati species is threatened by one of their own, Jacqueline’s purpose is forgotten when everyone’s safety is placed in the hands of two small shifters whose powers have yet to be seen.

DARKNESS BOUND focuses on three intersecting storylines that will merge in the rainforests of Brazil where a power so strong will be unleashed against those trying to destroy the Ikati race. We watch as the Queen of the Ikati makes it her task to seek out those who are responsible for the possible demise of her people and in doing so, discovers that the next generation of Ikati may be more powerful than the last.

JT Geissinger pulls the reader into an emotional story of hatred and love; betrayal and forgiveness; walking away and letting go. Our leading couple are at polar opposites in the beginning but by the end of the story JT has found a small place in heart for a woman who only knew discrimination in a world torn apart by war and abuse-JT’s storylines will tug at your heart and make you think about the bigotry and abuse in the world-of which we live.

I Couldn't finish. I got to 78% read of Darkness Bound. "I went back and finished." Please read edited review at the bottom. I left my first review with a few changes in place, to show I went from 1 star review to 5 star review: I guess I kept reading this series to find out who the actual villains or the bad guys are in the Night Prowler series. Would there be a world for the Ikarti with out all the violence. But they are all Evil Depraved Characters The Ikarti, The Expurgarti The Jihads they all are all cruel, evil demented psychopaths. I need clear dividing. lines between the Good Guys and the Bad Guys. They torture there own with no real clear reason for such brutality.

Darkness Bound is the story of Hawk "Lucas Edward Tavares Castelo" Ikarti and "Jacqueline/Jack Dolan Reporter. Jack has written hate articles and exposed the Ikarti to the human world. For revenge she has been seduced by Hawk and blackmailed into returning to his Brazilian Ikarti Colony. This author, however can pull you in and you find yourself wanting to know more and hoping that the evil is destroyed. But It all ways seems that evil wins the day. If Geissinger put her mind to it and stop relying on the shock effect and define her storyline she would be a great author and storyteller.

Edited review 2/13/16
After I decided it was unfair to write a review without finishing the story. I was so very glad I continued to read Darkness Bound. After I got over the caning of the heroine Jack and continued reading I now find at the completion of the story that I was wrong about the author not defining the lines between good and bad. The story does do that and more one enemy is destroyed. The romance between Hawk and Jack was one of unconditional love. The author goes even further to describe of the injustice of hating people or races and religions we don't know or understand. I felt in awe how Ms. Geissinger pulled together the first 4 books in the series into one magnificent bit of storytelling in bk5 Darkness Bound. It took awhile but everything does come together!! I feel a bit ashamed for judging her so poorly. I learned a good lesson!! Never review a book until you finish it!! Darkness Bound is one of the best written books I have read in a few years. It hits on what's happening in this world of ours today!! I highly Recommend Darkness Bound and the other 4 books in the Night Prowler series!!

Jack wrote an unfavorable article about the Ikati. Thus, gaining the attention of the ikati, who aren't too thrilled to be written in an unfavorable manor. An idea is born that if Jack comes to their colony and witnesses how they aren't so bad after all, she will write an article discrediting her previous work. However, she's not just gonna go willingly into an area overrun with creatures. It isn't until there's a little blackmail involved that she decided to trudge into the monsters den.

Jack is a tough-as-nails reporter. She's not afraid to get in the middle of the action to get her story. So it comes as no surprise that when she's blackmailed into going to the Ikati, she goes along with the plan. She wasn't holding her breath that they'd get her to change her mind about them. After all, Hawk slept with her, took photos of it, and blackmailed her. Nothing says "I was wrong about you" quite like a good ol' blackmailing. However, she finds herself connecting with Hawk and realizes that she was quick to judge those whom she didn't understand.

Hawk has been beaten down more times than he can count. He's used to his brother, the Alpha, lashing out at him. So it comes as no surprised when he's tasked with bringing Jack to the colony or face death. It isn't until he brings her to his brother that he starts to second guess his decision. He starts to peel away Jack's layers and realizes that she's not as much of a bigot as he once thought. However, just when he starts to find himself falling in love with her, fate decides to shake things up.

Not only do we get their love story, but the story of the Ikati's final showdown which is still forming. The way the author finished this book lets you know that the next, and final, book will be a doozy. Especially since she wrote the Queen's (MC from the first book) children in a certain light that lets you know they will be a big asset in the last book. Not to mention all the various powers and strengths everyone is throwing around. You know it's going to be one heck of an ending.

MINI AUDIOBOOK REVIEW
Rating: 5/5
Heat Rating: 3/5
Narrator Performance: 4.5/5

Best of the series so far!!!

Jack and Hawk worked well together and I enjoyed their romance. Jack was an extremely strong woman. It was easy to admire her fierceness. And man did I love it when Hawk stood up to his oppressor. Plus his gift was really cool.

While listening this I had this feeling of trepidation whenever the twins were in a scene. I was actually holding my breath at some points! Their's was a secondary plot but it's inclusion in the story just made it awesome.

DARKNESS BOUND was narrated by the same woman who's performed the series since book 2. While her narration was always enjoyable her performance this time around was so much better.

I wasn't sure if I'd like Jack (Jacqueline) or Hawk. Jack wrote an editorial arguing the Ikati are evil and need to be exterminated. I didn't like Hawk at first either because of the whole blackmailing and kidnapping thing. Nothing says you might change your mind if you really get to know "us" like blackmail and kidnapping!

Jack shows her strength and empathy. Hawk shows his as well. I was rooting for both of them individually and as a couple. I was really enjoying this and thinking this would be a good 4 star read. Then,

I liked seeing Morgan and Jenna. Jenna's twins, Hope and Honor, have interesting Gifts. The underlying storyline that started in book 1 continues in this one. One of the big bads meets his end, but there are so many more.

A Secret society of black panther shifters is the backdrop for the latest installment of the Night Prowler series by J.T.Geissinger. This series is as addicting as it is well written. It is also one of my very favorite paranormal series ever. I went into the book thinking it was the last book of the series but was recently corrected by the author and that was a very happy moment. Just one more left after this book though, but I would happily read as many of these as the author would write.

Jacqueline(Jack) Dolan is the ultimate war correspondent. Virtually fearless, she spends way too much time in war torn countries. Not much of a life, but she’s pretty much okay with that. She’s in Brazil, it’s her birthday, and she meets a mysterious, handsome man named Hawk, who keeps turning up everywhere. She ends up seduced and set up with pictures. Why? Because she wrote a Pulitzer nominated article demanding the extermination of all of the Ikati race of panther shifters. Blackmail and revenge, pure and simple, followed by kidnapping and being transported to the heart of the jungle where the Ikati live in obscurity.

What I liked about this book:
The characters of Jack and Hawk top my list of course. The author has fully realized each of them; we get each back story, as well as their dreams of a different life. Neither are happy and neither have much of a life. When they find each other, they have found their better life-hopefully. Of course, it doesn’t seem like it at first, but you know that’s where it’s going.

Which brings me to the romance. Off the charts chemistry, and some really steamy scenes lead to a pretty great relationship, complete with the bones of a good friendship as well, but it does take awhile for all of this-well except for the first steamy scene!

The Ikati society is in rare form in this book. They have always been a dark society but this time the darkness is really out there. The main villain in this book, the Alpha of the jungle enclave of Ikati, was just as evil as you want a good villain to be. I am putting this in the like column but I really despised this character. And that’s how it should be, a villain this well written deserves to be in the like column, even if he is despicable.

I enjoyed the author’s vision of the setting in the jungle. It is so well described that I could just see it like I was there. A large group of shifters that live in tree homes, all interconnected, was a pretty different setting for a book.

What didn’t I like about this book:
I was thinking about leaving this blank, because yes, this book is that good. If I had one complaint-We have to wait until October for the next one! So no not really anything I didn’t like.

Who would I recommend this book to:
Paranormal romance and Urban Fantasy readers.

If you haven’t started reading this series yet, you are really missing out on a good story, always good characters and just a great adventure story and that’s true for the entire series.

Full disclosure-I am a member of this author’s street team and that’s because of how great this series is.(PureTextuality.com)

Awesome addition to the series…

This is the fifth book in the Night Prowler series and should be read in series order.

The Ikati shape shifters are collapsing their strongholds in an effort to remain hidden from their enemies which are comprised of governments, religious zealots, and secret organizations, most of the human race and some of their own kind. They are converging in the rainforests of Brazil.

Jacqueline “Jack” Dolan is a reporter whose recent editorial after the events in Rome has brought her to the attention of the Ikati. Her words called for their extinction, swaying public opinion, and were used by politicians to further their own agenda against the Ikati race. The Ikati are not taking this lightly, they have a plan and it just might destroy Jack who having never even met an Ikati denounced them based on the actions of one. When she does meet an Ikati it will blow her world apart and she won’t know what he is when she meets him.

Hawk Luna is an Ikati that women of both races swoon over, an illegitimate son who has never fit in with his clan but is subject to his race’s rules. He was selected to seduce Jack in an effort to get her to retract her words through blackmail. But Jack is not as expected for the woman who would write such a piece. She is complicated and there are things in her past that have damaged her. She stirs feelings in Hawk and the plan changes. Together these two will walk a dangerous path that leads to each other amidst racial politics, betrayals from within and the coming war between the species.

This series is excellent paranormal romantic suspense, superbly written. The prose is sensual, at times lyrical, the storyline riveting. The author has an amazing imagination, she interweaves subplots that accompany the romance with twists and turns that you do not see coming and that make you gasp for you can’t believe what just happened, you don’t want to stop reading for a minute. I look forward to the last book in the series and dread it at the same time for I will miss this world and the characters that J.T. Geissinger has created and shared with us. This series I will re-read throughout the coming years.

I was lucky enough to win an early copy of this book and am so happy to have won such a great read.

This book was slightly different than the other books in the series. Despite the differences of the main characters backgrounds and things I still really enjoyed reading the story of Jack and Hawk.

Jack is a tough girl but she has had to be given the things that happened to her in the past and the situations she puts herself in for her job. I admire her backbone and the fact that she captured Hawk’s heart. When Jack offered to take Hawk’s punishment I knew that she would win over the Ikati very easily but still it was enjoyable to watch it happen.

Hawk doesn’t see himself worthy of anything, thanks to his father the previous alpha, until he has something worth fighting for. I was really hoping that Hawk would get his younger brother, who is the current alpha, straightened out or take his place because he is not a good leader. The author managed to have another two character who end up being perfect for each other even though at first you think it would never work out.

I love that each book focuses on a main couple but in addition still continues with the others from previous books and has an overall storyline continuing with the main storyline. It makes the stories so much more multi-dimensional. The characters as always are great and the story flows well and while you know what is going to happen at times the author still manages to surprise you along the way. I can’t wait for the final showdown that this series is building up to but I also don’t want the series to ever end either. So here’s to hoping for many more books in this series!

If you are looking for a new series to start or just a new read to get in to, I recommend checking out this series.

I won this from Goodreads First Reads. I have been a long time fan of J.T. Geissinger. I think the Night Prowler series just keeps getting better. This is a fantastic PNR series that keeps me coming back for more.

The Ikati are panther shifters, and we slowly learn more about them with each book. There's a psychopathic ruler of one sect of the Ikati named Caesar who wants to take over the world and sadistically rule humans. Humans found out about the Ikati because of Caesar's monstrous actions, and now they're fighting back to save their race.

There's the "good guy" Ikati who are gathering in their last safe enclave in Brazil, and who are against what Caesar is doing. The ruler of the supposed good guys is pretty crappy, in my opinion, however, as are many others there. They totally stressed me out through a bunch of the book, which heightened the tension and made it even more compelling to me to read.

Jacqueline (Jack) Dolan is a war correspondent who wrote a Pulitzer-nominated op ed piece called The Enemy Among Us that gets all the humans stirred up against the Ikati. The Ikati ultimately kidnap her and take her to their secret lair so they can scare the scrap out of her, thinking they'll make her write a new opinion piece in support of them. Against all odds, Jack falls in love with her kidnapper.

This story has a lot of great action, snappy dialogue with outstanding snark, and a steamy love between hero and heroine. This is a great twist on the enemies to lovers trope, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next one, although I'm so sad to read that the next book will be in the last in the series.

DARKNESS BOUND is one of my favorite of the series. It can be read as a standalone, but readers will get a greater appreciation of the action having read the previous books. I'm very sad that the next book will wrap up the series, as I've been loving it so much I'm not ready to see it end.

How Does One Describe Perfection? This Is A Stellar Fifth Installment Of A Truly Amazing Series

Warning..... this series is not lighthearted escapism! This being said I would encourage any reader who began this series to see it through to the very end. In my opinion, each and every installment proved to be a truly entertaining, enlightening, thought-provoking and memorable read and Ms. Geissinger is well deserving of any and all of her many literary nominations.

I’m reading this at the close of a very difficult year... 2020, a year of a pandemic, civil unrest, and vilification of an entire country’s police force.

Jacqueline (Jack) wrote an Op-Ed condemning the ENTIRE Ikati people as a result of the cruelty and bloodshed caused by a rogue leader, Caesar, and his small band of equally evil loyalists. As the story unfolds, I found myself reflecting on a parallel course of events in our society today, the condemnation of our country’s entire law enforce officers due to the grave, unprofessional actions of a few officers. The valuable lesson learned here is not to judge an entire population of people or group by the actions of one or a few. Skillfully written words are highly influential and are able to work for the good of humanity or lead to very destructive feelings and behaviors. It is a choice a writer makes and should not be taken lightly.

Rarely is there a book that captures a reader so fully from the very first page and continues its hold all the way to the last word in the epilogue. Ms. Geissinger not only crafts an amazing story filled with well developed characters and an intricate plot, but also has a unique gift
of beautifully written text. She has an eloquent style of writing truly unmatched.

I love the artistry in the cover choice and the companion Audible narration is superb.

You may be reading this and wondering if I’m one of those reviewers that gives novels five star ratings easily without much critical analysis. Rest assured, I’m not. An author has to EARN four or five stars. When you are dealing with perfection it’s very difficult to be negative or critical. It is very obvious that Ms. Geissinger put forth maximum effort in order to pen a story this brilliant. The cliffhanger in the epilogue only serves to drive readers to delve into the final book in this memorable series. Can’t wait. Though this is a paranormal romance there is so much relatable content for us mere mortals. Enjoy!

Cannot wait to start the next book!!!

Another head strong, sassy, independent woman and brooding, passionate, protective alpha male. I love how all of these stories are tied together and that you still get glimpses of the characters from the previous books. Each character’s strengths play such important roles and their love stories, though all similar, are also so unique and special.

When Jenna tells Jack that her gift of writing is even more important than any of Jenna’s gifts and that she, an ordinary human, can change the world, you can feel the weight of the importance and the pivotal shift it will cause.

I am in love with the colony in Brazil. I want to ask my husband to move there so we can live in the trees.

This epilogue was by far the most epic of the series so far. I am immediately downloading the next book, as I can hardly wait another second to know what happens next. I barely had the self restraint to wait long enough to write this review.

Its a deep meaning story for Hawk and Jacqueline

What a story that this author weaves. It's like she saw this future of discourse and wrote about it. Jacqueline aka Red is a writer that used her platform to incite hate rhetoric. Red thought she was doing it to make her dad happy. He had saved her from an awful situation and she wanted him to be proud of her. Her Dad sideline the shifters, so she would not like them either. New horrible laws were enacted due to her article. The Brasil tribe sent Hawk after Red so that they could discredit her and ruin her career. The problem is that Red met Hawk and had the feels for him whilst unbeknownst to her, he is a shifter, Ikati. That's where the journey of this book begins. The main theme of this story lies in this quote, Equality isn’t an ideal that can be applied according to the whim of popularity, or toward one race or gender or species in lieu of another. We must believe in equality for all. Read On!

Brilliant

Wow can't help but love this series it just gets better and better, each book is building up to what must be a massive climax and it's getting closer. Although this book is largely based on Hawk and Jacks story it covers so much Caesar is finally defeated but you get the feeling that his work still lives on Leander and Jenna's daughters are seen to be extremely powerful and the Brazilian colony is going to be attacked by the religious fanatics and the zealots who have joined forces. This book has you totally in its thrall and I think the next will be even more explosive.

Better than book 4

This book redeemed itself from book 4 and gives a better insight into the life of a colony referenced in other books but never visited in the storylines. Definitely ends on a cliffhanger but didn’t mind it too much. As with many of these books, felt the end was a bit rushed - hence why only 4 stars. But if that doesn’t bother you too much then a good continuation of the series.

✌️

I am normally one that can push through a book, especially if I believe it to be a good one. However, this novel started out very well but then sort of drizzled out around the middle, and then towards the end I kind of lost interest in this book all together. The overall concept for this story has been wonderful, with a compelling story-line, there was just something missing from everything.

Another Roller Coaster Ride Of Emotions

This series is very well written and brings on all of your emotions.
If I may express my one criticism, it is the name “Jack”. Yes, it is a nick name for Jacqueline. However when starting the book and learning the characters I had to keep remembering she was the main character.
Naturally I will be starting the next book in the series immediately!
It is an excellent series!

Great book series

Love, love these books. I thought that it wasn’t possible to continue the storyline introduced new characters and keep it interesting and exciting and flowing. But with the ending of each book I am looking forward to the next and they haven’t disappointed. Now just the last one left. Excited to see how this ends and sad at the same time that it will end with the next book.

Excellent story. Wonderful writing in this one, couple weird character hiccups but all in all a really excellent story that keeps you guessing and who could ask for more than that when you are someone who reads a lot of fantasy that repeats itself a lot.

Still absolutely hating this narrator. I do not understand why they chose her to continue instead of using the first one in the first book but sally. It doesn't discount from the story but it does discount from the entire experience.

This book was very satisfying. After the horrible things Caesar had done in previous books, there needed to be some way to stop him or at least prevent him from achieving his malicious, mass-murderer and torturer dreams. I do see some tantalizing dangling plot points that might lead to future stories and I am looking forward to them.

Loved it!

Every time I start another one of the books in this series I think there is no way I will be able to get into this book like I did the one before it. No way she can suck me in that fast, again, book after book... but, she did! Looking forward to diving into book 6, the final book of the series.

The love story of Hawk and Jacqueline (Jack). Jack is a reporter who wrote an article call " The Enemy Amount Us" about the Ikati and how dangerous they are. Now the Brazilian Ikati want to change her mind about them. The Alpha send Hawk to seduce her, take pictures and force het to write a new favorable article. Can he do it?
