Riley is angry with her father because he took Riley’s mother to a rehab program, he has a girlfriend who is four years older than Riley (Riley is seventeen-year-old), and now they (Riley, her father and his girlfriend) have moved to another city because of her father’s work (he is an actor). She was happy with all of her friends, but now she doesn’t want to be the new girl in this high school (Hollow Point). She was happy with who she already was. Back home she was somebody but here, she is an outsider. So she becomes a b!tch, her attitude is just a show to protect herself.
Eventually she befriends with one of her classmates, Tatum, but when Tatum’s brother (Knox) meets Riley she hates her because she is such a princess... So Knox and Riley made a deal and "a deal’s a deal". This deal helps them to achieve their goals but it hurt them too!
It was a good read. I really enjoyed it. it takes you on edge until you find out about the secrets. But the ending was so quick and I couldn’t feel the heart or the connection between them. I mean you can feel the hate/dislike between them but not love! They don’t speak about their feelings much or about liking each other like at all! we don’t hear "I love you" in this story so I was a little confused at the end! I really didn’t realize how/when they attracted to each other. It was just like they hate each other one minute and then they were kissing the other minute! The story told in dual POV, 1st person. It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger so I think it’s safe to say it can be read as a standalone. All in all, I had a really good time with this one so I hope you enjoy it as well!

Not too far into the new school year at Hollow Point High she befriends a girl named Tatum, Tatum is a happy go lucky kind of girl who lives with Greta and Knox.
And most importantly,
every lie holds a truth.
This life lesson would destroy

Riley and Knox get on each others nerves right from the get go

From your dyed hair to the plastic on your fingernails,
you are an illusion.

That's a shame, it would've been fun

Riley and Knox spend most of this book plotting ways to take out two people that they want out of the picture, there are no lengths they will take to get what they want, but along the way they are also fighting their attraction towards each other.
We enjoyed having a mutual disdain for each other, it kept us honest. But somewhere along the way the waters got muddled.
When you first meet Riley she was the girl I wanted to hate, her vindictiveness knew no boundaries, but progressing through the story there are so many hidden layers to her that Tatum and Knox brought out of her, she went from plastic to human in a blink of a eye.
MY THOUGHTS
In true Teresa fashion this book captivates you as soon as you start it, I really need to get my shit together and read more of this talented authors books, because the few I have read I've absolutely loved.
I devoured this, inhaled it, I could not put it down, but at the end it just left me craving more, I just wish there was more about Knox's background with the biker gang he was involved with, what dirt he'd gathered on the people of the town? What happened to the girlfriend? It's like we were given half of the gossip but i wanted the full story, I wanted the drama, the tears, the angst, the feels..
The progression of Riley and Knox's relationship I really wish we had more of them as a couple.

If that synopsis didn't get your attention before, I don't think you have a pulse. From the moment I read that, Riley had my full attention and let me tell you that girl has so many layers to her I'm still trying to figure her out.

Being the daughter of a famous actor,Seventeen year old Riley has grown up in the hollywood spotlight. Having whatever you want at your beck and call and being told "yes" constantly, is a normal life for her. But that all changes when she's forced to move to "Hollow Point" with her father while her mother is in rehab. Not liking her current situation, Riley tries to make the best of it at her new school. There's a new Queen B in town and she doesnt give a f*ck. Befriending a fellow classmate named Tatum, Riley is then introduced to Knox. Noticing that they both want something from each other, Knox and Riley make a deal with each other.
What's the worst that could happen?
Knox has a lot of secrets. Being a Nineteen year old in a small town, you tend rack those up. Not officially in the biker gang but still work for them, Knox can definetely can hold his own. Striking up a deal with Riley is getting one of his jobs done and passing the time. But can they really keep it together without falling for each other?

I found Knox and Riley quite entertaining with each other. They couldn't stand each other but you knew the spark was there and it was just a matter of time when it was all going to erupt in flames. What I didn't like was that towards the end everything felt rushed. I wanted to know what was going to happen with some of the other characters and how the aftermath affected them. Maybe it's just me but I feel like there's more to this and it's not over. That being said, I enjoyed Knox and Riley's journey and we'll see what happens.

**** 4.5 Stars To a The New Bitch In Town ****
I will try not to bore you with a retelling of the story because the point is for you to read the book, right?
I came across Hollow on FB, and not only did the synopsis drew me in, but the stunning cover. I was a little hesitant to read it knowing they were high school students. I wasn't planning on getting into the lives of high schoolers and even less the story of some rich, spoiled brat. Yes, she's a huge brat. But then as I read beyond the first chapter and an hour later, I was still sitting on the couch, I knew I was not going to stop.
As I mentioned before, Riley is rich and spoiled and I guess you can say she has parent issues. Daddy is always working and Mommy is in a program. It's the number one reason she is acting the way she does and doing what she is doing. It may also be the fact Dad moved them to a new town. She's a bitch, oh yes she is, and she owns it. Growing up in California surrounded by others who only want to be the best of the best and ruining someone's image and reputation means nothing to them, Riley has climbed the ladder at being the best at it. Reminds me of Mean Girls except Riley is a one woman crew. One mean girl. It's not until Daddy Dearest decides moving to a new town to help his image is what's best, meanwhile Riley is cooking up how to let her claws out and show the people in this new town called Hollow Point who she once was. I love this girl. I shouldn't but I can't help it.
Enter Knox. Bad boy, who's slightly older than her, but not being from the uppity class Riley is from he's the perfect match for her. Someone needs to keep this girl on her toes. Teach her how Karma works. He's also Tatum's "brother." The one girl in the whole school Riley chooses to be friends with.
So how do these two come together and what do they need from each other? I'm not telling you. Time for you to buy this book.
I don't normally read YA, but it's nice to step outside your regular genres and find a book you really enjoyed. Characters, storyline, setting, this book had it all. It was refreshing on my mind and I really connected with the characters. The fact there was no repetitive wordings and the sexy times I find myself skipping made it even better. I don't need sex in a book. Just give me a great story and this is what Hollow was for me. My one BUT, because yes there is always a BUT for me, I wish there was just a little more of that ending. There's one part that I personally could've used a little more time on. I needed it to be dragged out a bit since it was a big twist in the ending. Maybe a little more emotion. But that's just me. Looking forward to more from this series.

Well, well... the last time I read a Teresa Mummert (Perfect Lie), it f*cked my brain up ! This author is a genius !
So I was curious to see what Hollow was about. And it was quite a surprise ! If you don't like heroines like Blaire Waldorf, beware of the female MC ! She's a despicable spoiled brat ! Those kinds of characters are not new to me but she was very well-written. I love Teresa Mummert's writing, she never disappoints!
The book started out confusing and I didn't get the point of the story. To me it was just bratty-Riley sent to her father's house. So during one-third of the book I was a bit bored. But as the story unfolded, we discovered the real Riley and I grew attached to her. There are so much more hidden layers to Knox and Tatum's story.
Naturally, I ended up devoring the book ! I can't wait to get my hands on the second installment ! If you are a Teresa Mummert fan, I recommend this book

a strong tale of a true independent woman with a lot of sass and pain beneath the surface. Riley is the kind of person I wish I could've been as a teenager. Knox is the kind of guy I dreamed of being with my whole life. Teresa Mummert has captured my heart, wrung it of the tears that I held in while reading this beautiful novel. She has done it again. Brought me through the variety of emotions from beginning to end. I loved Knox and Riley. Each were independent and stubborn but together they make for a beautiful couple

Well hello Little J!
Or, in this case…Riley.
I’ve gotta say, when I first started this, Riley read a whole lot like Jenny from Gossip Girl. Her attitude, the way she carried herself and the things she’s known to have done in the school prior to the one she ends up at, well it was an easy comparison to make. As it turns out, Riley is a whole lot different. There were definitely more layers to this girl than are shown at first glance and a lot of that is because of Tatum (and later, Knox).
Through them you are able to see more sides of her. Riley opening up in ways that I’m sure she hasn’t in years. She becomes softer. Her feelings at times getting the best of her. Weakening that wall that she`s built between her and people.
I loved both of these sides of her. The tough one that gave as good as she got (even if at times she did things I might not do myself) and the softer side. The one that wanted friends. Wanted the relationship with Tatum despite her deal to the contrary.
And Knox. What a lovely enigma wrapped in a riddle that boy was. Not at all the way he appears on the surface, yet a guy with secrets. Ones that not even the people he truly cares for and vows to protect know. But secrets that eventually, over many denials to the contrary or shoving down of feelings, he eventually shares with the person most perfectly suited to him, in Riley.
I loved the tension laden build up to something happening between these two. I’m glad that it didn’t happen right away and feel that the way it was built, the length of time that it actually took to happen was pretty spot on. I also enjoyed that it wasn’t easy. That there were things keeping them apart, other than themselves. The protective nature of Knox, bumping heads with the independent, strong willed and stubborn Riley. It all just came together so effortlessly here and had me devouring every bit.
Every bit of this worked for me. My only real complaint is, first that it’s over and second, that we weren’t privy to just a little more with Riley and Knox as a couple. But these things weren’t enough to affect my feelings or the rating on the story. Each book this author writes seeming to pull me in even more than the last.
My thanks to the author and all others involved on letting me read this wonderful story before official release. Knox and Riley’s journey is definitely one that I am super glad to have been a part of.

Do NOT start reading this book on a Monday morning when you have a million things to get done and shouldn't spend the entire day reading instead! ;)
The moment this book hit my kindle I thought I'd sneak a little peek and maybe read a chapter or two before I went back to adulting for the day.
But I couldn't put it down. Could. Not.
I failed at adulting for the day but it was completely worth it to devour this book in one sitting. I loved this story and I know this is one of those books that I'll read over and over again.
Hollow is the story of Riley, a daughter of a well known actor who has been moved to Hollow Point, Pennsylvania from Los Angeles by her father while her mother is in rehab back in LA. (There's a lot more to this move, but I'm trying not to spoil anything for you. ;) )
She befriends a girl named Tatum and gives her a LA style makeover that totally made me think of the makeover scene in the movie Clueless.
Tatum lives in a house with a woman named Greta and a man named Knox. He is not her brother but still feels obligated to be her protector. Knox is a 19 year old biker hottie who is teetering on the line of going all in with a biker gang or running away. He doesn't care for Riley and he'll do anything to keep her FAR away from Tatum.
Riley and Knox spend most of the book plotting ways to get what they want and dancing around their underlying mutual attraction. I found myself getting wrapped up in their plotting and planning and ended up not knowing which one I was rooting for. :P
I give Hollow 5 out of 5 Krissy Stars!

Once again Ms.Mummert does not disappoint! She draws you into her story and I involves you the characters lives until you feel like you are part of what is going on. Yes I did cry in this book so if you are looking for happy this one is not it. This book is all emotion!!!!!

Wow..In true Teresa Mummert fashion, I was sucked into this book and just could not look away. It was not what I expected. Im the type of reader who after reading a synopsis automatically starts thinking about the plot and where the author may take the story. The one I came up with for Hollow, was different from what I imagined and Im so glad it was. With Riley and Knox’s story, we find that appearances are not always what they seem and though someone may look/act different than you, it does not mean they aren’t going through or have gone through a struggle in their lives.
Meeting Riley in the beginning, my first thought was oh no, typical stuck up rich girl. But as I continued to read more, my perception of her started to remold itself as I was able to see what truly lied underneath the front she puts up. I really enjoyed getting to meet the real Riley. Oh and don’t get me started on Knox. Yum! teehee <3. I love the many sides of Knox but most of all, I love how protective he is of those he loves. How he would stop at nothing to make sure nothing happens to them, even if it involves some sacrifice in return. My favorite part though when it comes to these two? The love/hate relationship they had.. I COULDN’T GET ENOUGH!!! Love, love, love their interactions! Especially how they didn’t take crap from each other; the only people in their lives who set them straight and could see right through their actions.
Comprised with secrets, romance, and these two kuckleheads, Hollow is definitely one of those reads you do not want to miss!! I would recommend to readers who enjoy “suck me in” books that won’t let you go and you don’t want them to.

At first page I was like wow this girl Riley is so stuck up ugh .. But then you find out why she's that way.. Very good story I wanted to just hug her and be her friend.. The bet that Riley and Knox had I knew something bad was gonna happen lol But I'm glad at the ending.. Great book read it straight threw romance, drama and excitement all in one a must read!

Why You Should Read Hollow…
The book opens with Riley, a seventeen-year-old girl from Los Angeles who’s forced to temporarily move to Hollow Point, Pennsylvania to accommodate her movie star father’s filming schedule. I’m from Pennsylvania and have also lived in a town right outside of Los Angeles, so I know how hard of a transition it is to move from the land of sunshine and broken dreams back to Pennsylvania. As far as I know, Hollow Point is a fictional town, unless its one of those tiny mountainous towns hidden upstate that you can barely find on the map, but I don’t think that’s the case here. And now that I’ve read the book, I can appreciate the name, which I assume is hollow-point, like a bullet, which I find to be incredibly clever if that’s true.
The Characters...
The reason I related this book to Sons of Anarchy and Gossip girl is because the story is told in first person alternating POVs, and I knew if I saw a title like this I wouldn’t be able to resist. We start with Riley, the bitchy, sarcastic, and seriously awesome female lead who really puts everyone in Hollow Point in their places. From the second I started reading, I thought, if Blair Waldorf had a daughter, it would be Riley. I loved Riley, bitchiness and all, and I laughed hysterically at the things she said to everyone from her dad and his sleazy side piece to her eventual love interest. And she’s a schemer just like Blair. I love main characters who are Scheme Queens.
Then we shift gears to Knox, a nineteen-year-old boy debating whether he will join the local motorcycle club, The Hollow Hellions. This is a great name for an MC. If you’ve seen Sons of Anarchy and loved it as much as I do, then you will be instantly drawn to Knox. His father was a member of the club and Knox has ties to them, but beneath the bad boy exterior, he’s not like them. I love a good bad boy. In fact, the more conflicted and rough they are, the more I want to know about them. All bad boys have a gooey part somewhere, and sometimes it takes a girl like Riley to break them down.

The Plot...

The synopsis perfectly captures Riley’s personality and sets the tone for the book, but the real drama hits you like a ton of bricks. As I mentioned earlier, I thought of Sons of Anarchy with the MC, and Knox reminds me of Jax Teller, who I loved from the beginning until his bitter end in the series finale. Knox reminds me of Jax because of how conflicted he is over joining the MC. And he’s the bad boy we all want to tame.
Moving on to what brings our two main characters together. Riley befriends Tatum, a shy and quiet girl with a very sad past on her first day of school. Back in Los Angeles, Riley had fake friends with their plastic lives, and for once, she meets someone she can honestly consider her friend. But Tatum lives with Knox and Greta, and because Knox knows about her past, a past that intertwines with his, he’s very protective of her and doesn’t want her hanging around with a mean girl like Riley.
Knox and Riley make a deal to help each other remove the two people they want out of their lives, which starts an unexpected friendship and eventual romance of some sorts. I’ll leave the rest of the information for you to find out on your own. For me, the surprise of not knowing a thing from the synopsis, apart from the fact our main character is a bitch, was what kept me reading. I don’t want to spoil this for anyone, so I’m going to stop here.

Have I mentioned I’m a Kindle Unlimited subscriber and did not know this, which bums me out because I ordered Hollow and The Death of Lila Jane before they hit shelves, and I’ve also read Pretty Little Things, all of which I loved. I still need to write my full-length reviews for all of those books. And Crave is also available on Kindle Unlimited. I haven’t read this book yet, but I just downloaded it to my Kindle.

I was somewhat excited before diving into Hollow as the blurb intrigued me. However, I felt mostly numb whilst reading it and the whole reading experience honestly feels like a blur now.
I didn't connect with the characters and didn't care much for them. Riley annoyed me a lot, she was selfish and hungry for attention, always there to make someone feel worse, when in reality she wasn't as cold-hearted as she pretended to be. That was only a facade to keep people out and make herself feel better by humiliating others. Her running after Knox after having been rejected by him several times didn't earn her any extra points, either.
Knox was as asshole, and as much as I enjoyed his bickering with Riley, I felt like he emotionally manipulated her by leading her on, pushing her away and repeating it again. At least he didn't take her crap and was probably the only one who told her the truth about how spoiled and selfish she was, which she more often than not ignored, but still...
The pace of the book felt rushed and when almost everything was revealed at the end I didn't even have time to process it as the next thing I knew, the book ended. I didn't understand the deal with Ezra, so that was left unexplained and there are still questions that were left unanswered, but since I saw that the second book is probably not coming out any time soon, I don't think anyone will be getting those answers. Even if it does come out, I'm not planning on reading it.

I wasn't sure about this one, at the beginning, but I was wrong. This is my new favorite book by this author. This author is known for characters who are flawed broken and never what they seem. Knox and Riley are two more she has plucked from her land of misfit toys.
Knox is a bad boy with a brain and a good heart. He has been a knight in not so shiny armour for more than one damsel in distress.
Riley is a poor little rich girl with a mountain of issues, and a movie star daddy.
The small town Riley has moved to has its own dark secrets, including a mysterious baby daddy, a secret fight club and a motorcycle club thrown into the mix.
The story consists of Riley and Knox putting aside their issues with each other to conquer their respected enemies. Knox deals with Riley's potential step-mommy dearest, and Riley does away with Knox's little sister's boyfriend. Somewhere along the way, the lines between love and hate blurs and disappears, and their best laid plans implode.
The ending is a little blurry with all of the mysteries solved and hearts unbroken a little too quickly. I think Riley's redemption could have taken up at least another chapter or two. The supporting characters fates are left unspoken, or unwritten, as it were, but this is a stand alone so we are left to fill in the blanks from our imagination. The HEA is in a land far far away, and we are left guessing how everybody got there. Don't want to spoil it for you, but it happens a little fast. I enjoyed this book anyway. I read the blurb on this one a long time ago but the release was delayed. I'm glad I didn't give up on it, because i enjoyed it. Happy reading.

Riley and Knox; where to start without giving more away than I should?!?!? In Hollow we meet two characters that are both so broken and we don’t really know all the details. The plot of this story is hard to sift through and find at first, but once you realize what is going on between these two and more of their stories, this book pulls you in and you just have to keep going. Riley is a spoiled rich girl who is such a horrible person and doesn’t care. She is spoiled snot and will step on anyone to get what she wants. It isn’t until she is forced to move away from LA with her Dad, and to a small town she meets her soon to become friend Tatum, that she begins to do something for someone else. Tatum is living with Greta and Knox, and as we are introduced to these characters we slowly find out why these three are all together. The banter between Knox and Riley is instant from their first meeting. They both seem to not be able to stand each other, yet there is such chemistry there I just knew they would somehow end up together as I was reading. Teresa does such a great job with all her books of brining you in to a book and keeping you glued to the pages of this. Hollow follows her typical MO in that manner. It is very emotional at times and the twists she throws in toward the end of the book really were very well thought out. I can’t wait to read what is next in this series and see what she plans to do with these characters I began to love as I got to know them.

The characters are well thought out and muli-faceted. Not to give anything away, but like her other stories have proven, when you think you know what's going on you haven't even scratched the surface. I love how she always has a surprise ending and Hollow does not disappoint! I laughed, became angry, and even shed a few tears before I finished. The only thing you will be left wanting in this story is a second read!!
Do yourself a favor and block off time to read. Once you pick up Hollow, you will never want to put it down!!

I received an E-arc of this by the author and I am so glad!
The writing and storyline was addicting, I became so involved with Riley and Knox that I couldn't wait to see what played out for them. I highlighted a lot; between the sarcastic one liners to the heartfelt truths that were very relatable. There were many elements and inner stories to this story and I think Teresa blended them perfectly.
The only complaint is that I wish it was longer, the ending could be another beginning so I'm really hoping for book 2. Sooner rather than later!

For starters, that synopsis is just brilliant. With only a small amount of information it completely draws you in whilst giving nothing away. Within the synopsis we are introduced to Riley, part of what made this book so appealing was the idea of an unapologetically brutal heroine with some deep-seating emotional issues. This wasn't necessarily what we got but I'll get to the in a bit.
From here we meet Knox. It doesn't matter how many times the 'bad boy' trope is used it is still always appealing. Knox, too, has had a rough upbringing which has resulted in him making some questionable life choices. From the get go there was some chemistry and quality banter between the two characters who are drawn together by their mutual desire to eliminate certain people from their lives.
There is nothing original about you.

That's a shame, it would've been fun

What I expected from the book was a vindictive heroine, classic 'mean girl', with redeemable qualities. For me, I just didn't get this from Hollow. It is easily understood that Riley is the way she is because of her neglectful and emotionally distant parents, the agreement she has with Knox essentially confirms this. I just didn't seem to find any of her redeemable qualities. She was selfish at the beginning of the book and she remained that way, there wasn't enough back story or real insight into her family life for me to feel sorry for her or justify her actions. I just needed it to go a little deeper. I felt the same way with Knox, he was protective of Tatum and his actions stemmed from that but I just didn't buy his relationship with Riley. Whilst they had chemistry, there entire friendship/relationship was built on scheming and, for me, it never went beyond that. I was far more inv aged in Riley's relationship with Tatum but that was seemingly abandoned towards the end of the book, the same with Knox and Tatum's relationship.
I really did want to love this, and I can understand why other are drawn in by it. I would have just liked more depth to the characters and storyline as a whole but clearly I am the minority in this.

Well that was interesting. Teresa Mummert is one of those authors like Tarryn Fisher, love em or hate em, when you finish reading you are like..wait, what!?!?!
Hollow was no different. It jumps right in with new-to-town Mean Girl, Riley. Hailing originally from Los Angeles she hates everything about her new home in the small town of Hollow Point. I jumped back and forth between loving and hating her which is a good thing in my book. If you are indifferent about a character the author didn’t do their job. Anyway, I ended up loving her in the end but she was definitely a challenge.
Knox is the male lead of this story and as much as you want to love a bad boy, I didn’t get this guy. I felt like his story didn’t quite fit into this one. Granted he is the main character but his story wasn’t as developed as hers. I never quite got why he was the way he was. Although I loved reading from his POV; his smartass remarks were right on time for Riley’s uppity attitude. They balanced each other and that was enjoyable.
The story itself, in my opinion, wasn’t complete. There wasn’t enough information on Knox for me to get a real feel for him…I kept finding myself saying why is he doing this or that? There were also parts toward the end that I thought would be discussed further that weren’t. I see that this is a series so maybe more we’ll get more answers, so 3.0 stars for this one.

Me resultó raro ver a esta autora haciendo algo tan juvenil, estoy acostumbrada a su costado más oscuro y esto fue dentro de todo bastante liviano.
Ella tiene imagen de conflictiva pero por primera vez está teniendo una real amistad con alguien, con la hermana del héroe, que por desgracia la considera una mala influencia.
Así deciden llegar a un plan basado en que ella debe alejar a su amiga de un chico -que finalmente el motivo es que tuvo un hijo con otra y se negó a reconocerlo, solamente se limita a pasarle dinero al héroe que actúa como intermediario- y por otro lado, él se compromete a lograr que el padre de la heroína se case con una aprovechadora. Así terminan hiriendo a la hermana/amiga y no hay nada más importante a contar, hay química pero meh, muy teen drama.

The blurb for this book had me so damn excited! Normally I'm not into the YA/high school type romances. But as of late, I seem to be gravitating towards them. And most of them have been pretty damn good and not at all what I was expecting.
Hollow is only the second book of Teresa Mummert's I've read. And while the story was fast flowing and a relatively quick read I just felt like I needed more. There was so much that happened so quickly in this story. I wish some of it was expanded on, I just needed something more. It was pretty tame compared to some of the stuff I read, but tastefully written.
I did like Hollow. Something was just lacking which could have taken this from a good read to a great read.
