ARE YOU READY, WILLING AND ABLE TO HELP CHANGE THE CULTURE? "The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest." Luke 10:2 Those words spoken by Jesus nearly 2000 years ago ring even more true today. Christianity is becoming less and less relevant in people's lives. As our nation and our world fall away from the practice of the Christian faith, society continues its slide into a moral abyss. As a Christian, you can be a part of the problem by sitting on the sideline complaining, or you can be part of the solution by helping others to know Christ and building up the Kingdom of God. It's your choice! In Magnetic Christianity, you'll learn about the eleven attributes of a Magnetic Christian. These attributes, all clearly found in Scripture, are already part of who you are. God has built them into you. Magnetic Christianity will help you identify and enhance these attributes. As you grow in faith and holiness, people will naturally be attracted to you, and to Christ. You'll learn how to naturally and easily share your faith through the practice of these attributes of a Magnetic Christian: * Positivity * Enthusiasm * Friendliness * Confidence * Humility * Honesty * Kindness * Compassion * Approachability * Generosity * Encouragement
The elements of a magnetic Christian include positivity, enthusiasm, friendliness, humility, honesty, kindness, compassion, approachability, generosity, and encouragement. Each element was a chapter that included Bible quotes, an explanation, and reflection questions. It was a good way to assess each element in your own life. With what is happening in the world today if we each put these elements into practice it would help us get through this ordeal together.
Very practical and simple ideas are presented here to reflect on and to evaluate your “magnetism” as a Christian. What characteristics and virtues do you cultivate to draw others into an opportunity to share your faith with them?
"a slave of the lord should not quarrel, but should be gentle with everyone, able to teach, tolerant, correcting opponents with kindness" 2 Timothy 2:24
The bible, like all other religious texts (qu'aran etc) contains many truths and many beautiful verses.
Unfortunately, Christians quarrel among themselves over the stupidest things-- when Jesus said the most important thing is to love they neighbor, reconcile, and not quarrel. Muslims do they same. Jews do the same. All major religions do the same.
This book is easy to read, easy slang, not difficult at all. It's 3rd grade level reading. This isn't an insult. It's honestly what people need. If all Christians read this but most importantly, applied this, the world would be more beautiful.
The authors talks about how evangelizing is NOT forcing religion down people's throats, it's about living your life in such a beautiful way that people become curious.
Unfortunately too many people use religions of all types to oppress others, control others, make themselves appear great and fantastic, and to hurt others.
Religion can be extremely beautiful... When used correctly.
However, one must not forget that the goal isn't to have the RIGHT religion, the goal is to live peaceful, in love, and to harm the least amount of souls (people animal nature) as possible. To take care of this earth and of each other.
Religion shouldn't be talk. It should be action.
And I must rather spend time with an atheist who shares these beautiful values than with a Christian who prefers to oppress and cause hurt and cause pain to all.
Don't forget about the wolves disguised as sheep. There are many.
Hopefully religious people (of all religions) everywhere will rise and prove how beautifully they can shine. Hopefully they don't focus on proving and dominating with their one and only "right" religion, or competing with the whole world, but instead focus on love and peace-- love and peace brings true happiness. Not the "right" religion. Love and peace IS the right religion.
This book is a useful tool and a pleasant tour of how we Christians should spread the Word and be shining examples of Christ-like individuals. Gus uses each chapter to cover an attribute of the magnetic Christian, the Christian that helps to cultivate the Kingdom on earth. Throughout the book we progressively learn how to attract others to the faith and continue our own faith journey with love and compassion. A must read for the new Christian and the seasoned Christian looking to extend their abilities and God-given talents in bringing others to the faith and building the Kingdom for the Glory of God.
This was a book full of information about the way that you should conduct yourself as a good Christian. I started reading this in the middle of my classes for Catholicism, and couldn't put it down at first. The classes ended, and now I'm having a hard time picking it back up. It was good information, and a very good way to start a self-reflection process, but I think I was a little burned out on the religious material (in general, not in regards to the book) and skimmed through the last part.
I figure I'll pick it up again when I need reminding of the kind of person that I should be.
The is a great book. A faith-filled version of Dale Carnegie's "how to win friends and influence people." I love Gus Lloyd's radio program on XM radio's Catholic Channel. Basically, this book reminds us all how to let our light shine!
