Scott, who is a middle aged blue collar worker, discovers that he possesses spiritual abilities after a severe accident and near death experience. He becomes aware of deceased people standing by their own Roadside Memorials and Working closely with his deceased grandfather, he is able to help these lost souls with their transition to heaven. His brief glimpses of heaven provide inspiration for his new life’s purpose. He has new abilities and a good sense of humor, which makes the situations he finds himself in much more appealing to the reader.He is also given a glimpse into areas of his past and the results that would of manifested if he had taken another path. The afterlife surprises him in many ways. The destiny of the "Lost Souls" also gives him afterlife envy. He wishes to remain in the realm of the dead at times because of its peace and tranquility. His grandfather always convinces him that his work is not done and he has more to do on earth. During his life Grandpa Bill is a special kind of leader in Scott's life and he remains so in the afterlife. Roadside will always make you look at these memorials differently. And understand why they are so important to people grieving a loved one.

I really enjoyed this book. Great story about the possibilities of the afterlife in a comical way. Some parts are heartfelt others are just plain funny. I like the author's imagination and writing style. I really enjoyed this book.

Souls stuck between worlds after death. Interesting if you believe in spirits and heaven.
