He’s tortured. She’s broken. Together they must face the most legendary beast of all.

Ferris didn’t hesitate to leave behind his mortal life as a drummer. Not when it meant rescuing the alluring, pink-haired vampire who saved his life years ago. But now that they’re both free from the Queen of Hearts, an unexpected emotion is surfacing—lust.

Mouse fled the mortal world centuries ago after a heinous event nearly destroyed her. She would never have guessed that her new life would take a monstrous turn once away from the Ruby Heart Palace. But now her thirst for blood is all-consuming.

Seeking a way to destroy the Jabberwocky seems like a good way for Ferris and Mouse to focus their energy, but the danger only heightens their mounting sexual desire.

A desire that needs to be sated.

Knave is the third book in the Vampires of Wonderland series with sizzling romance, friends to lovers, and sexy vampires.

Knave is the third book in the Vampires in Wonderland series written by Candace Robinson and Amber R. Duell, their second collaboration where fantasy crosses the line with beloved children's stories. I'm a huge fan of their work, and Robinson's other series (some on her own and some with another co-author) are equally impressive. This time, our lovable heroine (of sorts), Mouse from previous installments in this series, is center stage along with her new bestie, Ferris AKA Knave. He's a drunk and depressed rocker who is about to experience a permanent change in his life. She's dealing with painful memories from her childhood. They're soon tied together for life after she saves him, yet they secretly lust after one another while refusing to dare push it beyond friendship.

Too many others get in their way, creating climatic drama... and eventually climactic physical experiences (yep... some pretty awesome and possibly shocking sex scenes that must be noted). These two authors do the friends-turned-lovers theme really well, and with each new installment, readers are treated to an intriguing pair who met when one sucked the other's body for blood - food to survive essentially. Before they can consummate their hidden love, the two almost-lovers are forced together to save their world from a horrible villain. While many of the dark enemies were killed in previous books, the Jabberwocky is still alive and during an important trip to Red, a recently destroyed area of their overall world, life gets even scarier. Injuries. Confessions. Death.

But... as the duo attempt to play the heroes, they meet some unexpected characters from another of the authors' universes... which was a major shocker and a welcome addition. I won't spoil anymore but it was a pretty cool way to tie things together, and while I'm sad this is the last book in this series, I'm confident there will be another mash-up between two fan-favorite worlds. Start from the beginning with the prequel. Remember your Alice in Wonderland roots. Then forget what you thought you knew. And be prepared for a fantastic journey into a highly imaginative creation with surprising depth you never knew our favorite innocents could visit!

We met Mouse and Ferris in the previous Vampires of Wonderland books, and now we join them both on a journey, and get to know them better.

Mouse is exactly how you'd expect from her name, always shy and quiet, but even more reserved after surviving what she has.

Ferris is a true friend who Mouse saved at a low point in his life, and he in turn helped save her.

Now what to do when things get complicated and they start having more than friends feelings.

On a perilous journey to Red, to find out how to slay a Jabberwocky, the two might just have to figure things out along the way.

I loved this addition to the Vampires in Wonderland series, and there might even be a little cross over with the authors other series, Fairies of Oz, which was fun to see. I really enjoyed Oz but I'm definitely a Wonderland girl at heart but was nice to see these cross over!

I'm sad this is the end of both of these series now but cannot wait to see what Candace and Amber do next!

Thank you to the authors for an early copy of this book, however this hasn't affected my review, all thoughts and opinions are my own

Candace and Amber have done it again!!

Knave is the third and final installment in the Vampires of Wonderland series and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. I absolutely love these two authors together and I hope they continue to do more retellings and retakes on popular stories like these.

In Knave, Mouse and Ferris venture to Red, a land in Wonderland that has been ravaged by the Jabberwocky. Their aim is to find something, anything, that will help them kill the Jabberwocky before it destroys Scarlett and Ivory for good.

Along the way they'll face rogue werewolfs, an ancient vampire, the Jabberwocky itself and their own pasts and fears. It's up to Mouse and Ferris to keep each other safe while navigating their growing feelings for one another.

I FUCKING LOVED THISSSSS. I cried and smiled and felt full of joy when we were introduced to past characters, but that would be telling. If you want to know who these characters are you'll just have to read it for yourselves!

I started this book because I wanted to finish the series but was not particularly pumped about either character (MMC is again another ~snobby male white knight~ and FMC is another ~whacky/possibly insane but will go 1000% for her family~ character...honestly, it's basically book 1 of this series, redux, but with different character backstories).

However, both characters lured me in really quickly with their tragic pasts (we finally find out what happened in Ferris' mortal past and what kind of torture Mouse faced) and quickly became characters to root for.

This book was gonna be 2-3 stars rating, however, because the balance in this PWP (plot with smut as AO3 says) was firmly on the Plot side before midway thru the book and i was Really Bored tbh. They still hadn't truly banged and i had to deal with a never-ending fetch quest?? boring!!

HOWEVER, they eventually got over their hang-ups, banged, AND when I was starting to lose hope on the boring plot part, we got a surprise ! omg it was DELIGHTFUL, i recognized them just from descriptions of their appearance and LOVED that this was put in this book! So the rating went back up to 4 stars just bc i loved seeing that. :)

The ending is nothing to write home about but it has its usual HEA and made me excited for whatever this author duo writes next!! They're def on my "forever fave" author list now. :)

*Note trigger warnings the book needs: again, just like books 1 & 2--lots of graphic violence and graphic murder (if you can't handle decapitations, this book is Not for you), vampire blood sucking (hopefully this one was obvious), multiple mentions of past sexual assault (to the FMC but by a true villain, not the MMC), plenty of swearing (this should come with the Adult book territory and I didn't mind it, but just a forewarning to others who don't like seeing the f-word and s-word a lot).

MIC DROP!! This is the book where Candace Robinson and Amber Duell can take the bow of all bows as they have wrapped up not only one set of phenomenal dark fantasy books, but TWO complete sets! As the final instalment to a bloody good, sex filled compilation of adventure they have even managed to flawlessly tie in a few characters from The Fairies of Oz and draw together two completely different worlds. I won't go into anymore detail on that as I don't want to give anything away, but lets just say that I didn't even see it coming and I was wholly satisfied with then entire premise. Not only that but it brought a total flashback of that set of stories that I absolutely loved!!

First of all, we need to talk about the fact that there is a guard, an intriguing if not short lived side character with my name!! That's right bookish peeps, Didi makes a grand appearance and I don't want to give away her grim fate. Lets just say it's epic and impactful!!

Now, lets talk about Ferris. Whoa, just whoah. I think what I love best about him is his patience, dedication and everything that is the makings of book boyfriend material. Ferris stuck by Mouse throughout the other stories as the one friend that would do literally anything for her. So it's only right that their story is the finale. With a serious with previous enemy to lover books, I can't even tell you how much I love that this one is a friends to lovers. I enjoy both sorts, don't even have a preference. For me it really depends on the story itself and the characters. Making this one as such completes the series making it feel a bit more well rounded.

Lastly, lets talk about Mouse. She is Maddie's (from book 1) little sister. She was held hostage in the previous tales and undergone unspeakable torture. Now that she's free, she has to find a way to heal and pacify her hunger. A quest to stop a ravishing beast is just the ticket to get her mind off of things and who better to go on such a quest with than your best friend who is hot hot hot!! The kind of friend that she just can't stop thinking about in other ways and vice versa.

Not only do I highly recommend this book, but I very highly recommend the entire series!! 5 stars

This series is so much fun! Especially for someone like me who looooooves anything Wonderland.

I really loved the enemies to lovers story that was Chess and Ever in the last book, but I think Ferris and Mouse may be my favorite! I *adored* the caretaker love and trauma recovery rep in this one. The way Ferris cared for Mouse was so wholesome and sweet and really had me rooting for them the whole time.

It was also fun to see cameos from Maddie, Noah, and others from the series. But maybe the coolest part was...

The epilogue with Des was a lovely little parallel to Mouse's journey and growth that made me so twinkly inside. 🥹 I'm wishing these characters continued happiness!

This has been a great series with a nice balance of action, spice, and romance that I recommend to lovers of Wonderland, vampires, dual POV, and sexy times!

I want to start off by saying what ending to this trilogy. I fell in the love with characters in book 2. That book by far is my favorite. So I really don’t know what to expect with book 3. OMG blew me away and that special surprise in there. Had me giggling and smiling. Not gonna say what. But if you have read these author’s Faeries of Oz series you would know.
These two authors do amazing job with there retellings. This one was a lot of spicy to it.
But I love these two characters in this book. How their pain and past bought them close.
I wasn’t disappointed in this short read. Yes it took me a minute to finish this book. Life sometimes happens. I am so happy that I finished this book. Hope there two authors continue writing books and series like this.
Highly recommend this book. And the first two.

Still trying to get over the abuse these two put her through. Ferris and Mouse must come together and figure out how to kill a strange monster Jabberwocky.

My FAVORITE of this AWESOME series!!!

This was MY FAVORITE book in the series!! It was AWESOME!! We got a little background on each character and how they met. Knave’s background was heartbreaking and Mouse came along like an angel and saved his life and their friendship started then.

These two beautiful vampires were both so damaged, and have their issues from that. But they have each other, although it takes a lot for them to truly open up to each other. This friendship turns into a beautiful romance.

But throughout this story, as we see their friendship and then romance grow, they are going into Red, a deserted place where the Jabberwocky lives in order to find away of killing it. While there, there a lots of surprising twists and turns, and it is pretty exciting!!!

Another fabulous story by this fantastic team!! If you haven’t read any of their work, jump on the band wagon now!! Faeries of OZ was the start, and then Vampires of Wonderland!! Two FANTASTIC series!!! I look forward to more!!

Wow!!! Where to begin. This book has it all - adventure, danger, love, friendship, family, history, excitement and oh so much more. I couldn't put the book down. And I definitely can't wait to see what happens next.
I found myself on the edge of my seat several times, holding my breath waiting to see what would happen. My heart broke, was pieced back together. I cried, gasped, and cheered for joy.
What some would see as just one adventure really was at least complicated, but necessary journies in one. We got to learn about Mouse and Ferris, about Wonderland and even some unexpected characters. I loved the unexpected twists and danger and new found love in this story.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you so much to both Candace and Amber for allowing me to read an early copy! All opinions are my own.

HOW DARE Y'ALL? I am gobsmacked, especially by that revelation at the ending! It was *chef's kiss* and I will never recover.

But, we finally have arrived at Mouse and Ferris's friends to lovers story and it was so worth the wait. I adored this! With the stakes high and trying to get Mouse out of the hole she's been in since she's been freed from Imogen and Rav, Ferris is determined to save Mouse and boy, does he save her. Both Candace and Amber have a unique sense for pairing characters that allows for the right amount of angst, tension and happiness. I loved watching both Mouse and Ferris realize their feelings but being afraid to ask. It was sweet and genuine and I loved every second of it!

I loved this so freaking much. I have been eagerly waiting for Mouse and Ferris's story since they were introduced in this series, and it was everything I wanted. Each of them was working through their own trauma, and I so wanted them to find themselves and their happy. I loved watching their story unfold as well as the adventure they went on. There were some intense moments that had me on the edge of my seat and staying up way past my bedtime to read through. And I was over the moon to see some of my favorite characters make an appearance in this. Such a fun series that I'm going to enjoy reading through over and again. Now I just need a Des spinoff.

Things sure are heating up in Wonderland.
A monster who wasn't always one................
A still living Ancient One who has survived despite being locked up with no food (except for others of his ilk), who is now hell bent on feeding..................
Not to mention a cameo appearance from TikTok and Tin from the Faeries of Oz series.

I'm loving this twist on an old classic. Definitely NOT for children.

I received an Advance Reader Copy of Knave: Vampires in Wonderland Book 3 free from the authors and have chosen to leave a review.

Absolutely loves this book. Vampires in wonderland is always a fun thing to be able to read but the authors did it justice. They merged the two things perfectly. This book follows Mouse and Ferris and they both are battling mental issues. Im glad to have a book that doesn’t beat around the bush on the hard times. It was a privilege to watch them deal with their own inner demons and how they worked through it all. Their relationship is a beautiful one and one of my favorite ones ever. This series is well worth giving a shot and i know ill be waiting for the next book these two write together or separately.

What can you say about Knave, other than it is freaking AMAZING!! If you've have read the other's in this series, then you definitely need to read this to find out what happens with Ferris and Mouse. I love these characters, and getting to follow them more on their journey was something that I needed. Everyone should give it a read.

Enjoy the Wonderland setting and the vampire aspect! Fun and entertaining! Unique ideas too! I’m not huge on friends to lovers, but I liked the dynamics and connection between Ferris and Mouse. They both need that something good in their lives. Plus, there’s some fun action too! These two are on the hunt for the jabberwocky, so danger ensues on their journey. An entertaining read!

What a dark and twisty series! I loved it! Knave was a rich and unique Alice Wonderland retelling. It's seamlessly coauthored by two of my favorite writers. I really enjoyed the love story. Friends to lovers is my favorite romantic trope. I definitely recommend it to fans of Alice and Wonderland, retellings, as well as fans of vampire stories.

An absolutely dreamy mix of love and redemption, set in a world I never want to leave. Knave delivers on the promises made in Maddie and Chess, and then rips you apart and puts you right back together. A perfect conclusion to a perfect series.
