Avastasin Frida Kahlo paar aastat tagasi, kui lugesin raamatut "Frida Kahlo ja elu värvid". Tema maalid on põnevad ja elu oli keeruline, mistõttu tahtsin lugeda ka tema eluloost täpsemalt. Teine põhjus lugemiseks oli muidugi hispaania keele õppimine ja raamat pakkus võimalust harjutada. Kui algul mõtlesin, et tõlgin kõik sõnad ära, siis pärast paari lehekülge otsustasin, et loen esmalt raamatu läbi ja vaatan, kui palju ma aru saan. Kuigi minu jaoks oli uusi sõnu üksjagu, siis ometi sain raamatu sisust hästi aru. Ilmselt aitas muidugi kaasa see, et tegelikult teadsin varemgi Frida Kahlo elust üsnagi palju.
Soovitan hispaania keele õppijatele, raamat on kohandatud tasemele B1.

Para estudiantes de español me parece un libro interesante y enriquecedor porque no solo se centra en la vida de Frida Kahlo sino también en la historia de México, este es un punto que me gustó mucho. Aunque por otro lado me hubiera gustado leer más detalles sobre la vida de Frida. Como profesora de ELE me parece una lectura interesante.

I hate that i picked out this book because i wanted to improve my Spanish but mostly learn more about Frida. This book mainly talked about all her boyfriends which annoyed and bored me. It’s sad how they talk about Frida being a huge symbol and icon, but still devise to put focus on her relationships

Well-established structure, a mostly interesting plot, so the book is useful not only for Spanish practice but also for expanding the knowledge base.
From time to time it seems that there could be used more casual, not so formal / academic words, as far as the book is for B1 level.

My second Spanish book, and I think this one was more suited to my level. Frida was a great woman and a huge inspiration for many. I think of all the Grandes Personajes in this series, her and Che will be the most interesting. The book comes with some questions at the end, a neat table listing all the new words throughout the chapters, and of course the audio cd which I'm yet to listen to, but will stick in the car. For upper-elementary and intermediate learners. B1.
