Stranded on the prison planet. A panic attack. And a steamy kiss from a sexy golden guy with wings.

Everything Pacey Potter touches is a disaster. Now, at twenty-one, she’s aged out of her group home and she’s leaving behind her two best friends to join the rat race of the real world.

Until a flying saucer grabs her, shoots her across the cosmos, and spits her out onto the surface of a prison planet. Stranded and alone, Pacey digs for unplumbed levels of strength and falls short. Like usual.

When the golden-skinned alien prisoner offers to help her escape, Pacey can’t decide if he’s worth her trust. Or her heart. Because she knows good things don’t happen to her.

Or maybe they do when you’re stranded on a prison planet.

CRASHED is a full-length dual POV grumpy/sunshine sci-fi romance. It has steamy scenes and a HEA. It’s the first book in the STRANDED ON THE PRISON PLANET series. Each book involves a different couple and can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, please read the books in order.

Crashed de Katie Neptune serie Stranded on the Prison Planet libro 1

Argumento:

I tried to really like this story, but I’m afraid it’s just not enough. The storyline is okay, but the characters are severely lacking. I just found both to be whiny sooks most of the time, but I also found the story lacking in any type of atmosphere, where you really did want to read on to see what happens. I just did not click with the author’s writing style.

The blurb for this book pulled me in, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked.

When Pacey and her friends are abducted and crash land on an alien prison planet, Ademho finds her trapped in a net. She's been separated from her friends, so he agrees to help her find them so long as he can get a ride off the planet. They go on their journey and come across some obstacles, but they're bland. I wanted to see more action. I like the development of their trust in each other, but there wasn't enough juice.

I kept reading because I wanted to know if they found her friends and got off the planet, but as soon as they get to their destination, we're given an epilogue for 7 years later.

I'm assuming the rest of the missing pieces are in the other books, but the book didn't grasp my interest enough so I don't think I will be reading them. If you enjoy a fast paced, 2/5 alien spice, with a couple trying to survive and get off a prison planet, give this series a read.

Three's Company trope

If your entire book can be cut by two thirds of your main characters wood communicate, it's not that great a book.

I liked it, but a few things were amiss in this book.

" I don't understand what's happening to me. But I recognize that going to her is an instinct I can't ignore. I don't want to ignore it. I want to find her and hold her and... Here my thoughts sputter. I want to cage her in the safety of my wings until I've made her mindless with desire, until she never wants to leave my side. I want this feeling in my chest to go away. I want to fuck her. Oh yeah, I definitely want to do that. "

----------------------—

~ STORY & PLOT 📝 ~

What I liked:

➡️ Our FMC is very thin. Like "no curves in sight" thin, and I'm all about representation. It matters.

➡️ Our FMC has ADD and it shows. Again, representation. 👐

➡️ The plot. I can see how it'll perfectly adapt for the next 2 books of the series. In this book, we saw a part of this planet and met one of its prisoners, and I'm very hopeful we'll meet different alien races and discover different environments as the series progresses. It's a good way to have a progressive and great world-building. 💪😌

➡️ Well, the world-building. We discover a good deal in terms of dynamics of power, the wildlife, and the way things work on this planet. It felt rich but never overwhelming and it was easy to slip into it 🫶🏽

➡️ The romance is really sweet and even with all the struggle, it felt cozy at times 🥰

What I liked less:

➡️ Sometimes it felt like the FMC's ADD and anxiety were just excuses to create trouble... I mean I get that she's supposed to be "difficult to deal with" but sometimes it just makes her... foolish? childish? I don't know.
She's adorable and relatable most of the time but then I feel like whenever the story needed to be a little more angsty she would just make the worst choice possible. And when it wasn't her, it was the MMC. But really what's HIS excuse??

➡️ MMC has no personality except loving her. Not really at least. 😅
He's introduced, we know who he is, what he's done, and how he's ended up there but after that it's just him being in love, finding her incredible for the most basic things ever, and finding compatibilities on the fact that they're both breathing. 😂

➡️ How FMC's trust issues are resolved seems a bit superficial when you have her background in mind.

➡️ The fact that when he met her he genuinely thought she was a child but was ready to bang her the second she said she was 21. All in less than a 5min interaction. Like seriously, I don't think it was intended that way, it's more like a fated mate attraction I think, but it's how it looked...😓

~ SPICE 🌶️ ~

Smut is sweet and spicy with building tension but nothing over the top: no kink, no dirty talk. That being said, MMC is one for praise, and like it rough 😉🔥.

An Unexpected Future . . .

Pacey Potter is aged out of her group home, leaving friends behind and trying to survive on her own now. With her luck, this is not going to be very pleasant. She has a job in the stockroom because she can’t run the cash register, is not friendly enough on the merchandise floor, and not flashy enough to be a greeter. Throw in ADD and anxiety and it’s obvious she is a mess. How is she supposed to “think positive”? She joins her friends to go out on a boat, but as they are laughing and joking, the water around them churns as something huge rises toward them from underneath. Now hovering in the sky, they are transported inside and the ship’s “voice” instructs them to get into stasis pods or they will be injured. An injection knocks them out as they leave the atmosphere.

Kidnapped from Earth by aliens, the friends are put into pods to be transported somewhere. When Pacey’s pod crashes, she wakes to alarms and has no idea where she is. A dragon sort of creature agrees to help her but he wants to join her and the others if they want to escape the prison planet she landed on. Is it even possible to find the others? Can she trust the alien? Will Ademho continue to stay with her and protect her? Could she be his mate?

The author does a very good job giving the reader the details every step of the way to pull us in and feel like part of the experience… not that we can always appreciate that, of course! But it’s well done! Grab your copy and see how Pacey’s future shapes up. At least she has the best fighter on the planet to keep her safe!

This wasn’t a bad book for the first in the series and very much enjoyed it. Pacey Potter is a human female that’s had a hard life growing up in a group home and now at 21yrs old it’s time to leave because she has aged out. So with her friends Olivia and Kylie they go out to celebrate / commiserate on a cruise when the boat it taken by aliens and put in pods and now they end up crash landing on a prison planet Geshan X and her pod is caught in a net when she wakes she is saved by a gargoyle / dragon man who offers to help her find her friends only if when they leave the planet she takes him with her and she agrees and now the longer they are together the closer they become and the steamer things between them happen. Ademho has had a very good life but when he is framed by his manager he ends up on the prison planet Geshan X and felt there was nothing left for him until he saves a human female caught up into a net who he is drawn to straight away and offers to help her find her friends if she agrees to take him with her off the planet when they leave. How does it all turn out for these two and do they find her friends.

4.25 stars. Pacey, the female human lead, was celebrating/mourning her aging out of a shared foster home. Out with her friends on a boat, they’re shocked when a UFO emerges and takes them in. Then she’s woken from stasis to find she’s crashing onto an alien planet…

Ademho, the male gargoyle-like alien lead, is on the prison planet because he was framed by an ex-employer. He’s astounded to find a small fragile female on the planet. Then he feels the need to protect her…which evolves into something more…

This story is dual POV, well written, and an interesting commencement to a sci fi romance series. I enjoyed the representation, Pacey as neurodiverse and Ademho as disabled for his species. I enjoyed the care Ademho had for Pacey and the accommodations made for her. I enjoyed Pacey’s growing awareness of the genuineness of her feelings toward Ademho, and the challenge to overcome learned behaviours from her past. I enjoyed their intimate interactions, and the depth of their relationship development. I’m looking forward to more in this series for Pacey’s foster sisters.

The writing in this is very basic and unprofessional, just lots of I did this, I did that. Examples from the same one paragraph in the book, "I fall into a pit trap... I climb gingerly to my feet ... I inspect my body... I don’t feel any broken bones... I point and flex my wings, and they’re fine too.... I think I hit some rocks or tree roots on the way down".

It's like a young teenager wrote this. The characters are very juvenile. Even the Alien Ademho, is supposedly older than the 21 year old heroine but his thoughts are like he's a 15 year old earth boy. The misunderstandings between them also come from very juvenile experience.

Not to mention 90% of the book is just them tramping through a forest. Very boring. Usually I try at least a coupl of books by an author to give them a chance but everything abiut this from the writing to the characters was so basic that I have no interest in trying anything else by Ms Neptune. Do not recommend this, there's far better books out there.

“When I got stranded here, it felt like the worst thing in my life to ever happen to me. And then I met you, and it felt like the best thing.”

I really enjoyed this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Pacey and Ademho. This story was a fun adventure. I've always loved prison planet books. They always hold so much possibility, and the males are yummy. Here, both characters have things at stake and people to potentially lose. Pacey also has her own demons to battle, as well as fear of abandonment and self esteem. I loved seeing her and Ademho bond and fall in love, and was itching to find out what path they would take. I also liked Pacey's character growth throughout the course of the book. And curiosity over what happened to Olivia and Kylie. I can't wait to read their journeys. This was the first book I've read by this author and I will definitely be continuing this series. 4 stars.

I was like 👽--stranded on a prison planet--sign me up!

Katie Neptune's, Crashed, the first book in her Stranded on the Prison Planet Series is out of this world.

The FMC, Pacey, doesn't give herself enough credit, she's so much smarter than she thinks she is and when the boat she's on is suddenly snatched from a submerged space craft nobody knew about and then crash lands on an alien planet, her tough as nails attitude makes all the difference.

Pacey's been through some tough stuff, so when Ademho comes on the scene all golden-skinned, thinking she's some lost child and rescues her from a trap, she shows him there's nothing childlike about her. She's all woman.

If you're a fan of alien romance with an underdog, self-reliant FMC that's fiercely loyal to her friends and a down on his luck dragonlike gold alien who's trying to be upstanding on a corrupt prison planet then you're going to love Crashed.

Pacey a young woman who has aged out of the foster system, is scooped up along with her two best friends, Kylie and Olivia, in an unmanned spaceship and carried off to the unknown. The ship is damaged in space and crash lands on a prison planet. Now her story begins. Separated from her friends Pacey is rescued by an alien, Ademho, who is a paladin or full-contact fighter. Pacey and Ademho begin their adventure to find a way off the planet and hopefully find her friend. This short tale is filled with underlying threats of danger, intense situations, action, and steamy chemistry, putting our characters through their paces, and fusing this baby together seamlessly into an unforgettable story. I’m excited for the next installment in this series.

Crashed is a lively Sci-Fi Romance with an MFC Pacey who may not believe she has much luck but will soon find out otherwise.
Aging out of her group home and being thrust into the real world has her despondent and feeling low so along with her besties from the home they go for a boat ride and end up kidnapped by an alien spaceship which then crashes their pods on the prison planet Geshan X.
MMC inhabitant Ademho finds her and agrees to help in finding her friends with the caveat they take him along when they leave.
Lots of adventure, action, intrigue and of course spice soon follow as these two draw closer on their journey in this well written, fast paced read. Looking forward to the next one!.

Needs some thought expansion

The idea for this book was good: a woman with FAS abducted and crashed on a prison planet. The MMC was falsely accused and sentence to live on the prison planet, and finds Pacey after her crash. The chemistry between them was good.
The miscommunication thing got old after the same issue repeated itself multiple times. I also had a hard time buying the Pacey would just accept that he was falsely accused within a day of meeting him. Her character was a bit hyper vigilant on earth, so it seemed odd she would be less so on an alien planet.
Overall, the book is promising for author’s work in the future.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: abduction, violence, gore, murder, cheating (not between MCs, off page), bullying (off page), panic attacks

Great read

Rating: 4/5 ⭐️
Spice: 2.5/5 🌶️

A great, enjoyable read! I especially liked how Ademho and Pacey’s relationship progressed at the beginning, but I removed a star for the miscommunication that happened in the middle. It is my most disliked trope. However, I was glad to see that the issue never dragged on and they did end up talking and cleared the air. It doesn’t mean I didn’t want to wack Ademho a few times though.

Pacey might not be the most likable FMC but I understand where she is coming from and her reactions to the situations she found herself her made sense.

Loved the epilogue and I will be checking out book 2 and 3!

cute, funny, and lots a great pop-culture references

This was a surprisingly sweet story. It was very well-written and the pacing was great. Pacey and Adumho had fairly sad backstories, yet managed to have fairly complex reactions to their respective pasts. It’s interesting that he seemed so tired, and yet when Pacey hits the scene he suddenly felt very young. It definitely read more as new adult than adult.

But I’m still looking forward to the next books in this series. I’m hoping for more nerdy pop-culture references and quips in the next book, too.

The miscommunication!

This, Katie Neptune had me RIOTING at these two sweet hearts, both so sweet and good but ultimately like all of us, have their own issues.

But the miscommunication trope in this book was literally *chefs kiss* perfect. It had my heart aching at every turn for these too.

And Katie ends it perfectly, still with a cliff hanger, BUT with a little kiss goodbye for now that lets the reader know, hey, no worries, more good things are to come.

Katie did a wonderful job of making these characters come to life. The setting was amazing I was whisked away to the prison planet with Pacey and could feel what she was going through. The description of this new world and her experiences captivated me, it was hard for me to put this one down. I loved the plot, the pace of the story and the outcome. I'm ready for book 2 :)

This was a fun adventure romance for Pacey and Ademho. She's been kidnapped and dropped on a prison planet and now it's a matter of digging deep for survival. Ademho is more than happy to help her find her two friends and escape, himself. Told in dual POVs, this interesting series opener was filled with action, danger, twists and steamy romance :D

Definitely enjoyed this and look forward to the rest of the series! Friends are abducted and crash on a planet used as a prison. The pods are separated. This is the story about one friends experience and how she meets her mate. She finds strength in herself as she gets action and romance along the way.

This guy has pushed her away three times, even after admitting that he liked her. I couldn't really get into this story. I don't understand this prison planet. It has towns and currency but also a Citadel. The warden and guards also live on the planet. I also couldn't care about the friend group that was abducted.

Overall, I could not get into it or like it.

Not a lot of world building, and the story focused on just two characters for the majority of the book, but this was fast and cute. MMC and MFC were likeable, and I enjoyed the hurt-comfort vibes.
