In the scorching sands of Arabia, Mohammed ibn Abdullah (The Prophet Mohammed) had a problem. After preaching for 13 years he had attracted on average just 12 followers a year to his new religion of Islam. Worse still, half the people in his home town of Mecca wanted to kill him. After fleeing to Medina however, things would change dramatically. Over the course of the next 9 years, this orphaned shepherd boy would develop the most devastating system of conquest ever devised; Jihad. He would become King of all Arabia and convert the entire Peninsula to Islam. Even his enemies would be forced to worship at his feet. After his death the uneducated desert Arabs would burst out on an unsuspecting world. Using this same system of Jihad, they would conquer both of the world’s greatest empires in just a few short years. Within 3 decades they would control the majority of the Middle East, North Africa and Northern India. Today the empire of Islam comprises 1.3 billion people and it is the fastest growing religion on the planet. Is it a religion of peace or of endless violence? Does it advocate suffocating sexual morality or sex slavery and harems? How can both the moderates and extremists be true Muslims? The surprising answers to these questions and more reveal themselves as this incredible story unfolds. The material in this book is drawn directly from the foundational texts of Islam. Instead of merely quoting the texts however, it explains how they came into being and how they relate to each other. It then provides the key which unlocks their true meanings. Armed with this knowledge, readers are then able to make their own interpretations and draw their own conclusions. References are provided throughout and every effort is made to assist the reader to do their own research should they wish. Despite the serious nature, the story itself is gripping and fast paced. Mohammed’s exploits constitute one of the greatest adventure stories of all time. Importantly, his life is the basis for the religion of Islam. By knowing his story, we can understand the forces which drive both militant and peaceful Muslims. It explains the mindset of the modern Jihadists and predicts the inevitable rise of ultra militant groups such as ISIS, Boko Haram and Al-Qaeda. The following are just a small Carol One of the best books I have ever read, fantastic writing & a massive insight into Islam. This book has to be read by everyone!!!! Fred J. Full I am fluent in Arabic, studied and taught Islamic culture for over three decades; lived, taught and worked in several Muslim/Arab countries. Buy a copy now at this bargain price because in today’s shrinking world, an understanding of this subject is vital.
The author has pretty successfully justified all the currents ills of contemporary Islam as a direct consequence of Mohammed's actions. The formation of Ummah, the new tribe of Islam in which killing someone is worst than disbelieving, the doctrine of end justifying means, playing the victim even when attacking the innocent. While at the same time portraying the Western tribe as based on perfect logic and reasoning.
Hindsight vision is always 20 20.
The fact remains that at one point in history, Muslims were pretty strong, based on the same values which the author has depicted as failing them in the current ethos. Its clear to me that the tribe of Muslim Ummah has been in decline for a while because the Western tribe is reigning supreme based on newer and better values. How history judges this Western reign remains to be seen though. What will be view of future historians on the great Wars? The atomic bombs on hapless Japanese, the colonizing of millions under the doctrine of white must be right?
As a Muslim I refuse to believe that all Muslims are somehow alike, which seems to be what the author is implying repeatedly. There is a civil war being fought within the Ummah between the radicals and the moderates proof of which is the remarkably high number of Muslims killed as opposed to the a few Western journalists and aid workers. I would also point out the success story of Algeria where FIS has been uprooted by the valiant moderate Algerians and the resolve of their government. Nowhere is the Algerian example cited in Western 'superior' logic.
The book is extremely condescending and heavily prejudiced against Islam and Muslims. The fact remains that the Western tribe has very successfully manipulated the Ummah tribe and both have made huge gains. The Western are continuing to make huge trading gains while the Ummah led by Saudi Arabian oil still exploits the politics of religion. Why hasn't the Western world bought oil from a country with the largest oil reserves called Venezuela for instance? The righteous West can easily dump KSA tomorrow if not for this cosy business arrangement.
While the author unashamedly berates the Muslims of playing the 'victim' card how will he explain the constant victim card still played in the Western world champion state of USA by the Whites against the Blacks, even after years of subjugating the minority for hundreds of years?
Islamism is like racism, it will always be there for some fundus to exploit. Doesn't necessarily mean that all Whites and Muslims are fundamentally
Wonderful and informative look at this subject without any political slants or bias. Easily read with many reference footnotes making it even more interesting. This book is highly recommended!
WHAT AN EYE OPENER! The author has managed to give a true and accurate (talk about a horror story!) account of the beginning of the Islamic "religion".
In this easy-to-read and understand account (with footnotes to provide you with background information), prepare to be floored how one man managed to prepared a scam that has reached through a century and a half (570 AD) to become the free world's greatest nightmare.
After what happened in Paris, it was time to find out exactly what we were up against. After reading this, I am so thankful that I know that my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, has got me in His hands.
Short and clear synopsis for beginning to understand Islam. Muslims are to follow the example of Mohammed. So look at Mohammed. What was he like? What did he do?
I like many others, thought Islam was a religion like Christianity and Judaism. This book has taught me otherwise and is extremely informative and if you want to learn about Islam and it's methods and motives then this is a very good place to start..
An amazingly read that dotted all the I"s and crossed all the T for me. If like me you have always been confused about this religion or belief this book is for you. I never realised the significance of Mohammed and Like many people today understanding Islam and Jihad confused me. I have heard it is a peaceful religion and a violent belief. I wanted to know more about a topic that is talked about daily. I have read different books on the subject that have not really made it any plainer. This book is easy to read that unravels the confusion and is truly a page turner. If anyone ever asks me What is Muslim, Jihad or Islam I can answer. The writing is excellent and I have to give Harry Richardson a big thank you for writing this book and it would not have been easy. This book will not over whelm you. But take you on a very interesting History lesson. I have always had great sympathy for the female Muslim. Who are violated and abused and I now feel even more sadness for these women that are kept illiterate and in fear. Without a doubt this book lays bare the horror that Muslim girl children are inflicted with and how their mothers are so fearful and brainwashed that they also assist in the mutilations and honour killings. Islam wants to procreate and these women are kept pregnant. The more wives the merrier for Islam and Jihard. I really do not understand why the Western feminists are not still trying to make these girls and some of them babies voices heard. This is a complex story that Harry Richardson has made an easy and compelling read.
Just what it claims to be, an overview of Mohammed's life and the roots of Islam. It's so difficult to find even basic information on the subject without hyperbole. I highly recommend this book as a starting point. It's not a long book but is well researched and referenced.
The subject of this book is instrumental to understanding some of the most important issues of this century. Don't depend on what you get from eight second sound bites and talking heads. Ask the questions and find the answers. Many of the answers to my questions were here. Now I have have more questions but the author generously provides references to a wealth of information.
Excellent engaging fact filled book. Islam and Muslims are constantly in the news these days so it is important to understand the implications for the Western world. Becoming familiar with the life of Mohammed helps to put current events in perspective. Islam is not just a set of personal beliefs, it has a far reaching agenda and we need to educate ourselves so we can decide how to react.
This book provided me with a better understanding of Islam and Mohammed.
I am in the process of researching Islamic religion. This book offered lots of Information regarding how it started with the prophet Mohammed, and the writing of the Quran.
I had no real idea what to expect from this book. However, it was so cheap i felt i had nothing to lose. Its quickly drew me in though and i devoured it in no time. It presents a very clear overview of Mohammed and Islam and i thought over some of the issues raised at length. I would recommend this book.
Facinating book covering Muhammed's biography. His life is amaising. Everyboody needs some knowledge about this man's life as man and human. The book given a short and descriptiv overview of his mantality as human and his behaviour as political leder. Basic knowlage for both muslims and non-muslims to understand Islams view on toleranse, equality, rasism, Infidel, dualism and jihad. Every GOOD Muslims are obliged to emulate Mohammed’s (the perfect human's) behaviour and desire.
It laid out the history and daily issues of Islam in a format easy to read and understand. I had downloaded it to my kindle, but will be buying it in paperback as well as copies for gifts for friends and neighbors. Well worth your time to read.
I really wish I could give it 5 stars but I cannot. Much of this book reads like a reactionary USENET posting and not a scholarly work like I had hoped. However, just as their are diamonds in the rough, there are useful insights into Islam and its cancerous, deceptive spread, hence the 4 stars.
Here you will find the story of the early life of Muhammad, his means of manipulation and military actions. Also you will read of the faithless Barbary pirates and their dastardly deeds. You will find out what the caliphate and dhimis are. There is much, much more, and thus it is a good introduction to Islam for the casual reader.
The crux of the issue at hand is not the infiltration of Islam into the West, but rather the great vacuum created by so many in the West falling away from Christ. This emptiness allowed this horror to come in, and until more people recognize that Christ is the preserver of peace. the author of love and compassion, I expect more and more to be deceived by the dangerous doctrine of this false prophet.
I enjoyed this book immensely. If you're of an open minded ilk you'll enjoy it too. Conclusion ; highly recommended
Straight to the point, no nonsense introduction to a sensitive subject. A must-read I that will spark further curiosity, enlightenment and ultimately the truth.
Excellent book to read- helped me to understand Islam as I never have before-I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves truth and freedom. It was easy to read and so good I read it at one sitting (approx 2 hours).
This book is a must read for all in the Western world. We need to have discussions about the influx and influence of Islam on our way of life. Information is essential.
Really good way to get an appreciation for how perverse and incorrigible Mohammed's influence on the Islamic mindset is. There is no way it can be reformed, but the Western sympathisers can be shown the light.
