For as long as I can remember I have always been one thing.
I am an abomination, something that according to Heaven and Hell shouldn't even exist.
At least that's what I thought until I met her. Serenity came into my life like a hurricane but instead of leaving wreckage in her wake, she made me whole.
I seem to have it all. I learned the true art of redemption and I have a second chance at life, despite making such a mess of the last one. If that wasn't enough, I also have the girl. The greatest storyteller couldn't have written me a better ending.
The future looked so bright, at least it did until I found out Graham is missing.
As I struggle to come back from an injury that should have killed me, my focus is now on just how worried I need to be that I'm stuck with an Archangel while my wife is off aiding in the search for the very person that could take her away from me forever.
I might have been redeemed by the light but I still live in the darkness. Is it possible for me to change my true path or am I destined to always be the way I have been?
Mother, Sister, Daughter, Best Friend, Avid Book Reader, Author, Overall Crazy Person.
I'm Melyssa and I was born and raised in what is now known as the mega city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I'm the country girl stuck in the city girls body and anytime I can get away from the big city lights and settle somewhere far more slower is always such a treat.
I'm a mother to probably the four most amazing kids on the planet. (Yes that's a typical mom answer isn't it?) They have brought so much joy to my life and without them I'm not entirely sure where or what I'd be doing. They've taught me so much that I only hope I can do the same for them as they grow.
When I'm not with them I'm doing one of two things. Either curled up with my e-reader and as many books as I can handle or watching marathons of Supernatural, Sons of Anarchy or Veronica Mars.
Lastly, I'm always on the lookout for my next book boyfriend, even if I have to create him in my own stories. can't go wrong with a good book boyfriend. :)
Ok so I thought holding on to heaven was good. This was even better. Its heartwarming and heartbreaking all at once . There is something for everyone in this book . Even of you don't believe in God you still will enjoy this beautiful well written story . Melyssa has out done her self yet again . If I could give this book 11 out of 10* I would.
So first off There's Michael the straight laced guardian angel who really is only trying to protect everyone in his own way .Then you have Gabriel the hopelessly in love guardian angel who you cant help but love. Oh and poor Graham will anything ever go right for the human soulmate. Oh then there is the one watching over it all God ...yup,he's there as well. But my love since the first book has to be Ryan who is so evil but trying to be so good that you cant help but love him . Oh and I almost forgot Lucifer himself even plays a big role in this book .
Serenity - if you were not so unlucky you would be the luckiest girl in the world. As hot as all them guys are i don't think I would like to be her for a day its way to complicated .
This book made me a sad panda :( but not because it wasn't good cause it was freaking amazing. It just made me sad because of how dark it got for awhile there and Graham...ahhhh wth?! Serenity, Gabriel, Michael, Ryan, Graham and Emma are all back in this one and even better than the first. Lucifer is also back and as usual hes up to his old tricks. If it wasn't bad enough seeing what Graham had to go through, Ryan broke my heart at the end. God, why are you doing this to me Melyssa? Ugh! Such an amazing read, a definite must pick up for everyone whose a fan of paranormal books, romance and Supernatural. It has a lot of all of that in it and I seriously read it in like two hours, it was just that good.
No Surrender - Love United Book 2 I was given an ARC book for an honest review free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book. This story has several different peoples POV. These are my favorite type of books to read, simply because you get to see what is happening from all angles.
No Surrender is book 2 in a 5 book series with one novella. This can not be read as a stand alone book. Once you start in on the book you will not want to put it down with all the action scenes. This book is a Christian paranormal book. It contains angels, demons and some faith. I will warn you that it does have a few curse words, not very many though. To be honest I can not read a book with a lot of curse words and I did not hardly notice them in this book. I think there were a little more than 20 in the whole book.
WARNING..CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS Once you have read Holding on to Heaven you know you have been left with a cliffy. This does pick up right where that one left off. This book is a darker book in some peoples POV. When you read this book you need to read it as one on the outside looking in. If you put yourself into the book and as one with the book you will go to the dark places with the characters and you not like how you tend to look at life with the darker developments. So I highly suggest reading this book as an outsider looking in on their lives.
Ms. Winchester once again blows me away with all her character developments and how she can turn what you think might happen next into something totally opposite. Ryan was not expected to live, Serenity came back to Earth, Graham was who knows where (well we find out where at the beginning of the book), and Gabriel was the ever seemingly becoming human angel we have come to love. As you go through this book you will be pulling out your hair at Serenity and Gabe as they banter back and forth and even Michael (yes another Arch Angel) enters the mix. Your stomach will be in knots with what Satan has Graham do..yes I said that right. And Ryan may make a showing. The only way to find out if anyone in this book can prove their love to Serenity and show if they will surrender all or nothing is to pick up your copy today. Melyssa has done it again, be prepared to pick up the next copy in the series as I had to go straight into the next book because once again there was a cliffy. I was thankful that I had all the books and did not have to wait like everyone else did when she was first publishing all of these!
No Surrender is the the 2nd book in the Love United series.
This series follows a girl named Serenity, who has learned that her fate has been planned for her even before her creation. Sent from heaven to save the world. But she can't wrap her mind around how a young girl is meant for such a task. All she really wants to do is save the people she loves...starting with Ryan, a half demon, who she believes is worthy of redemption. In book 1, Serenity risks her own life to save his. Now, in book 2, she has to save her best friend, Graham, who has been missing. When Gabriel and Michael, (her guardian angels and her friends), confirm her worst fear, that Graham has been taken by Lucifer, she will stop at nothing to get Graham back.
This book made me sad and it broke my heart several times. Graham suffered at the hands of Lucifer. And Ryan and Serenity struggle with how to save Graham, the world, and not lose each other at the same time.
This book ends on a cliffhanger. A sad one at that, that made me immediately reach for book 3.
Another excellent book!!! I absolutely love getting lost in the battles between Heaven and Hell. The love these men all have inside them is just...AMAZING! (It definitely gets you wondering about what waits on the other side.)
There's Michael, Gabriel, Graham...Oh God...yup,he's even there too! But Ahhhh, Ryan, the dreamy demonic angel, I think I love you most of all!!!
Serenity - you are the luckiest-unlucky girl around!!! I can't wait for more!!!
i found book one to be funny and action packed an this book has those same things but its less on the funny side. this book is darker. this is the book that made me understand Graham more and i actually came to like him.
There is love just as there is in the first one but again she doesnt put all the focus on it. the author seems to combine the supernatural with the romance to make it an easy read and for me i need them easy.
this is a great book and a great follow up to the first book.
Great second book in the Love United Series. This outing is darling and has more angst. I love how the author goes inside the mind of each of the characters and can't wait to read the next book in the series.
