Uncover for yourself some of the weirdest, little-known murders in America’s past – murders that still remain unsolved today. Nothing to really say about it. It was a good, chill, mindless read that didn’t really set me on the edge of my seat or anything. It has some interesting information for sure and the stories are thought out and interesting, but it’s not something Id try to seek out again. There were also a lot of spelling error and mistypes that kept drawing me away from reading the book.

Im a big supernatural, crime, murder, etc reader, but this one didn’t really shine for me.

I read this book as part of pre Halloween and pre research project of Mysteries of History. The book is fairly well done, with good summaries of what is known (with recent research, too) about all kinds of mysterious happenings, including historical mysteries such as the Lost Dutchman Mine, Roanoke, the Anasazi; disappearances/mysterious deaths of such figures as Ambrose Bierce and Billy the Kid; spiritualistic hauntings such as Patience Worth and the Fox family; mysterious unsolved crimes, and weird happenings such as spook lights, etc. I liked everything EXCEPT some of the unsolved crime accounts, which are a bit R rated and graphic. The rest will puzzle and surprise willing readers, though the author intrudes with his opinion in places, detracting from the credible approach he maintains in most of this book.

The book was good if you can get past the grammatical errors and the wordiness.

Interesting collection of stories

I thought this book was a fun, casual read. Many of the stories shared by the author I had either heard of or knew quite well previously, but there were usually some details I had not heard before, or I had forgotten. I'd say only about 25-30% were completely new to me, which kept my interest enough to finish the book.

I agree with other comments about grammatical and spelling errors. There were far more than I would have expected, but for me, they weren't so frequent to make me abandon the book. Also, it's worth noting that the book is dated 2007, and much of the colloquialism and gendered language do not age well.
As someone who usually reads for work or for professional growth, I gave this 4 stars because it met my goal of a casual vacation read to relax with rather than an academic resource.
Likely, your mileage may vary depending on whether or not your expectations are higher.

A fun book with some mysteries that really leave you hanging. Half of them could have been further summarized - I didn't care what Sally's grandma ate for breakfast on that scary Tuesday night because it was irrelevant to the plot and climax of the short story. I was totally done by the ending- and honestly, couldn't make myself to read the last four pages. Would recommend for a fun and leisurely read. Nothing to think too hard for.

There are many distracting typos in this book. There are many interesting stories and mysteries. It was an ok read. Worth the time to read if you have it. Just ignore all the typos.

I loved this book. Troy exposes some of the greatest mysteries the United States has seen in its history. These are stories that STILL don't have an ending. None of these mysteries have been solved. This book left me thinking and thirsting for more. Great job, Troy! :)

It's abut America's Unsolved Mysteries and Tales of the Unexplained. It's a good read if you're into that sort of thing.

This book has a little bit of everything, but very 'wordy'....could've used more photos, but otherwise a great read :)
