Khenpo Ngawang Pelzang, also known as Osel Rinchen Nyingpo Pema Ledrel Tsel and popularly called Khenpo Ngakchung or Ngaga, was a lama of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism who taught at the shedra of Kathog Monastery before becoming the founding abbot of of Nyoshul Monastery in Derge. From his early teens he was a close student—and eventually dharma heir—of Nyoshul Lungtok Tenpai Nyima, who in turn was a direct student of Dza Patrul Rinpoche. He also studied under Ju Mipham at Dzogchen Monastery.
