Being from the South,I was amazed to see a book with so much research,pictures,facts & trivia about OUTHOUSES!As a child,I had no idea that outhouses were everywhere.The folklore,the postcards depicting cartoons,the history,etc.was AWESOME! Most impressive was Privy "necessary house" architectural design,complicated and as ornate as the some of the mansion they were privy to(pun intended).

Entertaining and easy to read, with lots of photos and illustrations. More than you even thought there was to learn about the [predominately western] history of toilets and privys from ancient royal toilet-side conferences to the more recent human litter box and baffling double decker outhouses...
