Jennie McGrady is looking forward to a day spent hiking in the mountains with her friends. She's arranged to meet them at the trailhead but arrives a few minutes early and takes the opportunity to enjoy the solitude and cool mountain air. But lurking nearby is a man wanted on burglary charges-and in a heartbeat Jennie is taken hostage.

Zack is a sweet kid but has been forced into a life of crime by his aunt and uncle. Only fourteen, he's afraid of being put into a detention center himself if he turns his guardians in. But he seems sympathetic to Jennie-can she convince him to let her go and even escape with her?

Corissa and Brandy Graham, during a weekend at their family cabin, stumble upon a nearly unconscious girl their age alone in the woods. She's been seriously injured-and doesn't remember a thing about who she is or how she got there....

I really enjoyed this book. It was a different kind of mystery than her others. In this story the reader knows who the bad guys are, but Jennie can’t remember because she suffers amnesia. There was still plenty of intrigue surrounding if Jennie’s memory would come back before the bad guys struck again. Her inner monologues of doubt and fear made the usually calm and in control sleuth more endearing. Jennie’s character felt like more of a teenager for once. And it was nice seeing all her family and friends from previous books step up to take care of her.

The villains in this were extra ruthless as well. I can’t believe Jennie keeps getting punched in the face by grown men. Just awful. Still a low/medium violence content in my opinion..would probably be a PG movie.

There was also great advice in her, too. For example, Gram kept telling Jennie to trust her instincts when she felt scared. Plenty of good faith content as well.

This was a very different type of mystery from the Jennie series. Instead of Jennie working as a teenage amateur sleuth, she is the victim of a kidnapping. I really the enjoyed the storyline. I also appreciated that the "bad guys" were smart. Books and movies typically show the bad guys making silly mistakes but this book showed how terrifying it can be when they have a tried and true strategy for not getting caught.

I loved this book so much! Everything was amazing. The plot was so good, and I finished it within a day. It had a lot of cliffhangers and was super exciting. I love the characters so so so much. I love this series. This book was crazy! I do wish she was with Ryan though not Scott :( Ryan is the best.

I have always been drawn to stories where the main character is injured etc... so this was perfect for me. it's actually hard to find books and TV shows that cater to this... but back to the book, towards the end you could tell the author didn't know how to revert back to the original character and rushed the ending. if someone in that situation were to go back to school you'd think there would be a larger focus on that ... well whatever.

Patricia H. Rushford is a very good mystery writer because every one of her books that she has written have all been action-packed, adventured filled, and heart-pounding. Jennie, the main character is a normal Oregon girl who just unfortunately was at her local bank when a robbery happened. Anxious to find the criminals she is hot on their tail, but what she doesn't know is that the criminals are after her too. Jennie has to outsmart the criminals but she didn't think hard enough because when they found her they made her forget everything that she knew about them and that forced her to have flashbacks. A family found her and took her to the hospital, but Jennie didn't even remember her name or her family. Can she trust her family or are the criminals the people that are said to be trusted? Will she get her memory back in time to catch the criminals? I made a connection to Jennie's friend because she is so funny, full of energy to where you just want to puke, and she understands Jennie's feelings. I rated this book a three because it is all action-packed and adventure filled, but it is really for kids in Elementary Schools because it doesn't have very good grammar. I found myself wanting to read more but I still would only suggest it to Middle School and below.

Finally another entry that was great! This is an exciting read, lots of suspense and danger.

What I really like about this series is that for the most part, it's real. The bad guys don't play around with Jennie.

What I don't like is that it is ridiculous that Jennie gets into so many jams within a few months, even though it was more like 5 years!

I also can't stand Jennie's family. The mother gets on my nerves, and I feel like she uses her child as a built-in babysitter for her other child. She had him, so SHE should take care of him most of the time. Jennie's father is just getting back into the picture, but he is not off my hook. He contributed half the younger child's DNA, so HE needs to find someone to care for Nick and not expect Jennie to have to.

I can't stand Nick either, though. So I'm glad I won't have to read much more of him and the rest of the brood.

This was a pretty enjoyable book. It was a fast-paced, fun little mystery. However, I felt that it could have been better if it were longer, for some sections seemed rushed. It is a great, quick read that is perfect for the hectic lives of summer. I admired the main character for being a modern-day Nancy Drew, but she got on my nerves over time. Overall, I would recommend this if someone wanted a quick read that has a mix if action, mystery, and drama.

I love this whole series, I don't even know how many times I've read them all. Even as an adult, I keep coming back to these. Knowing what happens doesn't make them any less good.

This may be my favourite book of the whole series, maybe because it references so many of the previous books that faithful readers will notice.
