Her Last Kingdom is a fantasy romance based in a world at war. We meet our FMC, Elaudia, when she learns her entire life has been a lie and she is actually the lost heir of the Syraxes line and a breed of warrior known as a Bellator!
This book has all the things I love, fated mates, warrior women, found family! I enjoyed the dual POV from Elaudia and the MMC, Axel. Their interactions were fun and spicy! The world and the kingdom politics were complex, but easy to understand. I flew through this book in a day! If I was to have a complaint, it would have to be with the pacing at the end. I feel like the same *gut punch* could have been delivered without speeding forward 5 years randomly. Overall I love love love this book and I cant wait for the next one!!
I’m speechless right now. Oh my gosh this book was amazing! Elaudia is one of my new favorite characters! I instantly loved her sense of humor and her jokes about being vertically challenged (from a fellow short gal). The plot twists kept me on my toes and I could barely put this book down. I love how the fated mates plot was was written! Just everything about Elaudia and Axel’s relationship. This ending has me speechless I won’t lie I did shed a few tears. I can’t wait to see where their story goes!

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I liked the general plot and characters, but I believe the execution could be better. It had promise, but the writing was rushed. It jumped from scene to scene too quickly. I prefer more world building and character development.
I am very thankful that I was able to receive this book as an ARC.
I was hooked from the very first page. Elaudia is such a beautiful princess. Even more so because she wasn’t the normal looking princess. I really disliked her governess. Don’t even get my started on the King and Queen. Elaudia learns that there will be a Bellator at the feast. Elaudia is over the moon excited to hear this news. Being able to see a Bellator in the flesh. I absolutely love the King and Queen of Lashforn. They were outraged to learn that Elaudia knew nothing of who she really was. Once announced by them that she was the last surviving Bellator of her bloodline she was in complete and utter shock. Once she learns from Queen Sophia that they are truly related by blood, Elaudia seems to feel a little better. Queen Sophia told her all about her true self and where she’s from.
Elaudia then braves herself against the worst. Lord Krevosh. I wanted to punch his eyeballs out. But Elaudia made herself an even more of a badass by beating him.
Then comes in King Axel of Atarah. This is where the book gets even better and some spice and steam. Bador tells King Axel how breathtaking Elaudia is. Right from the start King Axel takes on protecting her. ( even though she can handle herself ) this book made me wanna throw it sometimes and I even screamed some.
I really have so much more to say but I cannot give away more of this absolutely amazing book! Just know that you won’t regret purchasing Her Last Kingdom.

Oh my goodness this is definitely the best book Paxtyn has written so far! I am speechless! This book has amazing writing with characters that will be your new best friends. The female FMC Elaudia is definitely on my list of favorite bad ass fmc’s. Axel the MMC is the perfect broody morally grey man that will have you swooning!
I’ve only finished Part One so far, but I am already completely in love with this series. From page one, Paxtyn Ferdelman pulled me right into this world. The writing, the tension, the characters… everything just flows so perfectly.
I adore Laudi. She’s strong, stubborn, and impossible not to root for. Axel has that perfect mix of dark and devoted that makes your heart do backflips. Their chemistry? Unreal. And the spice? Written so well. It adds depth to their story instead of just being thrown in for shock value.
The world feels rich and immersive. If you’re a fan of The Witcher, fae lore, fated mates, or badass female leads tangled in themes of war, destiny, and power, you’ll be hooked just like I was.
One thing I’ll say is to check the trigger warnings before diving in. There are some heavier themes, but they’re handled thoughtfully and add real weight to the story.
Paxtyn, I absolutely adore you and your work. I can’t wait to start Part Two soon. I already know it’s going to destroy me in the best way possible. 💕
What a fun, yet insanely emotional read! There were times I was ready to throw down on some of these characters, and times I just wanted to give them a huge hug. The spice was spicyyyyyy but didn't overtake the plot line at all, the chemistry between the two main characters was perfect, and the found family aspect was so touching. There were some really heavy topics covered, but they were well done and woven throughout the book in a beautiful way. I loved the touch of Greek Gods and their influences on the rest of this world, I'm always a sucker for them coming in to play in any fantasy book. There were some spelling/grammatical errors but they were easy to overlook for the most part - my only complaint but nothing major at all. I cannot wait for Reign Beneath the Sea to come out and further this story along!
I went into this book blind, didn’t realize this would be a fae book but it certainly did not disappoint. Elaudia has no idea of who she is until her aunt by marriage informs her of who she is, a Bellator, the last of her line. I loved her humor and I loved that she did not take 💩 from anybody. Cadmus was also a great & loyal character (I might have 3 favorite characters, cannot choose)
Fated mates ✅
I absolutely loved Elaudia & Axel’s relationship, the way he protected her. I was not expecting the absolute heartbreak at the end and I can hardly wait to see her revenge take place in the next book!
I received the second book to this series as an arc. I had to read this one in order to receive the second one. I absolutely loved this book. I was intrigued from the beginning and I appreciated that. If I can’t get into the book in the beginning I can’t get myself to finish the book.
This book did not do that to me. I was about to get into the story pretty quick and I didn’t want to put it down. Creating the whole world in my head while reading had me eager for more. I finished this in 3 days.
I couldn’t wait to start the second book once I finished this one.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book. The storyline was addicting and the characters were amazing. Who doesn’t love a broody morally grey man and a badass female? The interactions between the two were my favorite and I was swooning hard. The only complaint I have is the pacing. It did feel a bit rushed in places but overall, I absolutely loved it and cannot wait for book two!
This is a beautifully written journey of Elaudia growing to be the person and Queen she was born to be. It also tells of her marriage with Axel. The ending of this book has me already wanting to read book 2!!! Like. Woah. Cannot. Wait.
