As great as I hoped!

Great addition to the series! Sal was amazing and Jude was his perfect support. There seemed to be a bit more action in this than previous books which wasn't necessarily bad, but it was alot. I mean, Sal got kidnapped or hurt like 4 times so...

Still! E Broom doesn't disappoint when it comes to sweet smooshy love moments and comic relief. Ernest is still just so perfectly dramatic and hilarious and the rest of the characters have some awesome moments. I lost count of how many times I laughed out loud. Flying toxic poo puppies?! Its so random and brilliant. Ernest in a cat woman outfit?! Here for it. So hard not to spoil anything because it was all just so exciting. Pretty worried about you know who getting you know what. Big turn around and so happy then tragedy strikes. I'm shaking my fist in the general direction of the author for that.

So excited and truly can't wait for the next book in the series especially because it seems like it will FINALLY be Alfred's turn. Reccomend a thousand times over!!!!

Urban fantasy, a bit rambly

This is Sal and Jude's book, but everyone in town is in it. There is getting to be a lot of characters, and Alfred's book is still to come.

I wouldn't call this a romance. In a romance, two people meet and learn they like each other. Even fated mates have to get to know each other. There is none of that in this book. Sal and Jude already met and liked each other. In this book, they get together under pressure and are super sweet together. They don't spend any time getting to know each other.

The plot is entirely trying to figure out what the dark witches are up to (unsuccessfully) and stop them (successfully). The fun is in the flying cupcakes along the way.

My reviews are my own. If you liked this book, I’m glad you enjoyed it. If not, I respect your opinion.  This is merely my opinion, so let's keep it courteous.

Covers
All the covers are bad, but this one is the worst. Why does the "dark" witch looks emo? Prejudiced much?!?

Insta-Love
We went back to the awful, cheesy insta-love from the first 2 books with no relationship development. AND PLEASE, enough with the ridiculous nicknames, I barfed a little every time I read snookums! Also, enough with "making love", no matter how many times you write it, it is JUST sex. They jump each other with no real relationship. Enough with the cheesy lines, too. Cozy doesn't mean cheesy.

Food and Other Useless Info Dump
Same as other books, I believe this author has some food fixation issues; the topic brings nothing to the table since neither of them is a chef or baker, or cook, but we keep reading about food. Several other topics have no value to the main story, but we get info dumps about them.

Characters
I like the characters as separate beings, but not the interaction between them as a couple; the chemistry is just weird. Actually, who is Jude? Because even though he has been in previous books, I have NO idea of his personality at all, like he was non-existent.

Scorecards/Tea Descriptions
This author is definitely a one-trick pony. Again with the same? Copy-paste from the previous books, over and over. Did the author run out of ideas?

Other Stuff
Do these people ever work? They are constantly out, running up and down. Who can do that? They have been "thinking" about reading the whatever diaries since the first book, too, and they haven't. Maybe if they stop having so much off-page sex, they would finally have time to read the darn books. I feel we are in a wash-and-repeat mode, same situations over and over. If you are out of ideas, please just end the series. The "female" clothing on the guys is also sexist. You can put them in funny clothing without denigrating any sex.

The story still suffers from major editing issues, if there was any editing at all. The timeline is also ridiculous, just like previous books. The story moves at a lightning pace, so it makes you feel like you are on a rollercoaster drop. Copy-paste from the previous books, nothing new.

On to my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!

Loved it!

This was a fantastic continuation of the series. The battle of light vs dark witches is heating up as our heroes continue to fight against threats to their family and their town. Sal is a true dark witch that has never fit in with his family. He wants to use his magic for good but struggles to keep his dark side down as his family keeps trying to kidnap him. Wolf shifter Jude is determined to keep his mate safe. They have a unique bond that allows him to help Sal suppress his dark magic. But will it be enough to keep him safe or will he lose Sal to the darkness? There was a lot of action as our MC's and their friends and family get closer to finding all the true dark witches and who or what is behind this war. I love this huge crazy combination of witches, wolves, and found family. I like how E Broon makes each couple special and unique. I also like the concept of grey magic and how it was introduced in this story. I'm super excited for Alfred and Justice's book coming up next.

Sal is the perfect balance

Both light and dark magic fight for dominance but Sal controls his magic and combined them to grey. I believe in the end they should all become grey with the dark added to their light to balance out the magic in the world as only true witches can. I believe The good Doc has a story coming soon. I do love Sal and Jude together! Sal is my favorite character in this series, for as I said he is the perfect balance between good and evil. A good, fun, mischievous evil and not an ugly evil like his parents. I also love his relationship with Nora, always a bonus with a little magical girl around.

hmm... the book or series (whatever...) is starting to feel like a "one-trick pony" with all the characters keep getting pulled to different dimensions and the blacking out. wonder is it just me who feels that way? somehow it feels exceptionally obvious in this book because this character did keep getting pulled to various extra dimensional places and he keep on fainting... i was kind of rolling my eyes when he blackout for the 3rd or 4th time. and the book kind of end in somewhat of a moot point, so it will continue into the next book, zzz.

Another Great Addition to Series

I continue to enjoy the author's writing style. It's always an adventure with a twist. I do wish for more descriptive romance, but it doesn't take away from me enjoying the story. I'm hoping some of the supporting characters get their own story and HEA.

Definitely Part of the Series

Book 5 proves to be as rapid and oddly appealing as the previous installments in this series. New characters meet established cast, new drama, some rather sudden but nothing which doesn’t fit. Most story threads are resolved at the end, and the few that remain seem to lead into the next book.

I received an ARC of this book.

I love this book. Saladin and Jude are the perfect couple. A lot of action happens, too much? I think, just enough.
Can't wait for the next book.

Black to Grey

Can a true black witch wield White Magic? This one has many twists and turns and such suspense. Witty and caring. Brave characters and a lovely HEA

Good reading

As with the previous novels in this series, I couldn't put it down. The tale is intermingled with humor and fun. It leaves this reader wishing to visit, if not live in Cadenbury!
