Full Frontal Nerdity #1

Full Frontal Nerdity: Big Book of Epic Fail

Rate this book
From the mind of a guy who has two coveted copies of the Deities and Demigods sourcebook with Cthulhu and Elric in them comes Full Frontal Nerdity. It's a comic strip about being fans of gaming, comics, movies, and other socially unacceptable things. We have Renaissance Festivals, homebrew games, a trip to E3, and strips from Scrye magazine and Comics Buyer's Guide.
If you have no working knowledge about any topic covered in this collection, take it as a sign that you're well-adjusted and will probably never find yourself dressed as a character from the Final Fantasy video game series, attending a con at the Boise Holiday Inn.

I've been reading the series online for years but I guess not from the beginning. Picked this up from the discount table at one of my LCS. Totally worth it. Really fun to see how the strip started.

I've been a big fan of Aaron Williams ever since the first time I read a Nodwick comic in the back of a Dragon Magazine. He's always found the humor in roleplaying settings and with Full Frontal Nerdity he proves that there is ample humor to be had in the act of Roleplaying itself. In my opinion the FFN guys seem more like the roleplayers I know than the KoDT characters do.

If you like gamer humor I would recommend picking this up.

Since I am not of the demographic that this book is aimed for, it is surprising that I actually liked parts of it. I've played enough different board games to even understand some of the jokes - and I own a whole set of gaming dice. I haven't played many RPGs, though, so some of that was a bit more obscure for me.

Final note: one of the characters reminds me of a specific gamer that I know, so that was the source of some of my enjoyment.
