Danger, betrayal, and love.. That's exactly the opposite of what she needs right now.
Mackenzie always knew she was a werewolf. She grew up listening to her adoptive mom’s stories about her birth parents, their incredible love story, and the attack that killed them. But when her mom gets into a fatal car accident, she discovers that there are secrets in her past. As she discovers more about this magical world and all the legends that really do exist, she finds herself in terrible danger. To save herself, she must put her trust in people she only just met.
Aiden has known about Mackenzie his whole life, and for almost 30 years, she’s been only a story to the pack. But when they meet, she’s not quite what he expected. The pull he feels toward her, the instant attraction, nearly knocks him off his feet.
But happily ever after is far from reachable for them. With danger at every turn, they race to find the answers to questions long forgotten. With the clock running out, can these two find the time to get to know each other as fate intended? Or will their enemies rip them apart?
I devoured this!! Mackenzie and Marshall were torn apart as infants. It’s been almost 30 years when Mackenzie finally goes back home, never knowing she had a twin brother. Her world will never be the same, she meets her mate, discovers her magic and is forced to confront her enemies. Can they defeat their enemies or does the world have other plans??
Wow, this is the first book I've read where I actually cried in the first two chapters. When Kenzies birth Mother dies at the cabin and again after her adopted Mom dies , at the reading of her will when she breaks down and really crys. The Author has a way of bringing you into Kenzies heart where you begin to feel all.of her anxiety over finally finding her family is alive. Her father and brother have known of her where about but felt it was safer for her to stay with her adopted mother.. Its been like 22 years since her birth Mother was killed. When she finally goes to the Pack.to meet her Father and Brother she also meets her Mate. New to Pack life they teach her the ins and outs of being a Wolf. Living in a Pack and all it involves. She moves in and falls for her Mate been more. Grows closer to her family and starts to feel like she's home. Her and her brother are attacked by the same assailant that killed her Mother only this time she fights back as does her brother an they beat the attacker. They find that her and her Brother have some kind of magic power. Stronger when they are together. Seems that's supposedly is why they were attacked when she was just a baby. Her actual Grandfather is the villain trying to capture her and her brother. Her mate and her become inseparable and the mating is Romantic, Loving and Hot. Not Vulgar as some stories are. Natural. The Council wants them trained to use their power. So they are trained in hand to hand and as wolves. They are training to use this new power. The Pack has a family friend who is a Witch that helps.in the training. There are a few cringe worthy happenings. After the first attack they capture another wolf from the grandfathers pack. The guys try to get him talking but he wont. Finally he opens up about what its all about. But while he is still in a holding cell, he taunts Kenzie about her Adopted Mom. He says he was sent out to kill her and he ran her off the road. Kenzie goes Burdick she shifts to wolf and charges into him tearing him apart. Which she regrets taking a life. Then later her her brother and father are ramed.off the road her Brother shot with a magic dart father a broken arm her with broken nose. and concussion. During their fight to survive she snaps one of the bad guys neck. Again deeply regretting taking alife. Towards the end of the book. Their grandfather uses magic and trickery to capture her and her brother. Where they are chained in a cell with iron cuffs. They can't contact their father or her Mate via the pack bond nor the mate bond. But they still seem able to communicate with each other. Grandfather is setting up to steal her power buy torture Or force. And then.... God Trish I hope your working on the next Chapter. Got to find out how the make out.
I really recommend this book to anyone who likes Werewolve, Vampires, Witches. Or any other kind of Magic.
This is my first read from the author and it sounded like all the tropes I would enjoy. Unfortunately, I feel the execution of the story could have used a little more work because I struggled to get through the story and had hoped the story would improve or we would get to more of the action.
What I liked: It had the tropes of a typical paranormal werewolf romance with fated mates and swoony love interests. I liked the found family aspect and good friends development. We get witches and vampires too but they aren't too prominent. I liked the lore, magic and world building but felt like it could have used a little more refinement. I thought it was a bit too easy for the MCs to develop their skills. I found the fact that there were twins everywhere a little confusing and unrealistic. Not sure why there were so many twin pairs but it was a bit hard to keep track of them at first. As a twin myself, I enjoyed seeing twins in the story but maybe I missed why twins were common in this world.
What I didn't like: I think I struggled with the pacing of this story the most. I think it had the bones and could have been a fascinating story. However, it was hindered by the writing tone and the lack of writing refinement. The tone read more like a YA for me even though the characters are adults. The spicy scenes weren't prominent and mildly spicy. I would have personally liked a little more relationship development as it felt a little more superficial for me. For how long the book was, I feel it just barely made a dent into romantic feelings but I enjoyed what little there was in the story. I ended up finding myself skimming through the rest of the book and only got hooked again at the climax. I'm unsure if I'd pick up the next book although I am curious as to what will happen next to the characters.
I really wanted to like the book but it didn't intrigue me as much compared to the many other werewolf books I've read.
2.3 out of 5 rating for me!
(An ARC was provided for an honest review. I leave this review voluntarily.)
Dreams of Magic follows Kenzie, a werewolf, as she grapples with the truths she learns about her birth family after her adopted mother dies. Trying to fit in with her father and brother and their pack, learning about magic, and experiencing all new things; Kenzie is thrown for a few loops during this adventure.
A delightful read!! I’m a sucker for shifter fantasy and this doesn’t disappoint. I love the constant action and new developments that keep you on your toes and the endearing qualities of so many of the characters you learn and meet along the way. It’s truly a powerful novel and a great fantasy read.
Makenzie starts this story with the mother that raised her dying. She always knew who she was, and loved her adoptive mother. She has to leave to find her brother and is welcomed to his pack. She meets Aiden who is her mate. Certain events happen that change everything by coming in to an unusual power, for her and her brother. I have to leave it here because I do not do spoilers. I Loved the story and I do want more! Good Shifter Read!!! I received an ARC from the Author and I am Leaving this Totally Honest Review because I Choose to and think that it is a good paranormal story!!!
First of all, great story. but... I didn't feel as connected to the characters as I would have liked. I felt more like an outsider looking in. I love the story and would like to feel closer to these characters. Especially, the part where she finds part of her family that she didn't even know she had. Being alone in this world is rough, and being accepted and brought into a strange world that you barely understand is difficult and confusing no matter how much you want to accept it without question. Overall, this story has a fantastic story line, and I can't wait to see how it ends up.
I've seen a lot of shows and movies that talk about witches, vampires, and werewolves but most lean more towards witches and vampires and the wolves are supporting characters but not here. I love that this book is focused on the werewolves and share some of their lore (how they're created, how they find their mates, when they turn, etc). The author does a great job with all of the characters from Alpha Marshall, Beta Aiden, Gamma Jordan, Kenzie, Cassie, Sorcha, Chris, etc. I can't wait to see what happens next!
Received an ARC copy. Dreams of Magic was a captivating and mesmerizing book based on the main character Kenzie learning more about her wolven family that she was separated from at birth. I loved the dynamic between her and her sibling it was really touching to read. I enjoyed the relationship between Aiden and Kenzie it was a little bit of slow burn but it was worth the wait to watch their interest in each other unfold into something more.
I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. 3.5 Stars
I enjoyed the general plot of this book. The spice level was 2 maybe 3 depending on what your personal spice level is. This book follows FMC Kenzie as she goes home and learns that she has family and the trials and tribulations associated with that. There is also the bad guy side of things, because you can't have PNR Mystery without a baddie.
I will say that while I enjoyed this book, it could have been about 100-150 pages shorter, just by taking out a bunch after thoughts and repetitive descriptions. All in all, for a first book, it was good. I will definitely read the next installment in the series. I am eager to watch this author grow and see how the series continues.
I loved this book from start to finish. It keeps you on your toes and emotionally engaged. It made me cry, laugh out loud, and also made me very upset at certain characters. Love the action as well as the sweet times where I wished I was part of that story 😅. It's 10/10 from me because I could not bring myself to put the book down. Can't wait to start book 2😊

This was such a fun read! You will not miss out on any romance, suspense, danger, or peaked curiosity with this story. I love drama, werewolves, and magic. And Dreams of Magic has it all! And it definitely leaves you wanting to read the next one! It's worth it 🙃
Very good story! Was completely engrossed from the start. Only complaint I have are the grammar errors and the change in tenses. Needs better editing. I am definitely going to read the next book.
Im a big fan of wolf/shifter books. I am a sucker for mate tropes and that is exactly what was delivered. The beginning of the book was so sad due to the character losing her mother but then she also found her other family and needed to learn the ways of being a wolf. This book sucked me right up and I could not stop reading it. It was a fairly quick read which I enjoyed due to needed a quick read while I'm reading a series. I do wish that the spice level was little higher but it was sufficient. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who like shifters/wolf type reads.
