U ovoj epizodi konačno dobijamo uvid u misterijoznu novelu "A Night Time Smoke" koja se provlači kroz radnju prethodnih epizoda - "[...]while Eames fisted couch in search of the remote", hehe zanimljiv izbor glagola i kakav kraj iste ("Always the right"!:-)
No way!!! No freaking way!!! I did not see that coming, seriously... When is this series gonna stop this shocking crap by making me numb every single time I read it. I would never give up this up! It's so good to the point that I can't handle my emotions!
I was surprise there were emotional elements in this. Literally caught by surprise to this. Nearly shed my manly tears. I can't... I just can't...
The end just makes me goes:
This is so good guys, please take this up and read it!
PROS: Absolutely beautiful artwork by Fiona Staples. She has just made every moment worth remembering. I mean hell yeah the plot of this series is one of the most amazing ones I’ve ever read but without her artwork, it would’ve been lacking.
The characters I fell in love with on THE FIRST PAGE because dang it! They are just that good. I’ve adopted all of them and they are now my children and if anything happens to them blood will be spilt.
The graphic novel doesn’t shy away from many adult scenes SO DEFINITELY ONLY FOR GROWN UPS. TRUST ME THERE ARE SCARRING THINGS IN THERE.
CONS: I literally cannot think of anything I didn’t like in this book.
1. This series literally has the best covers. 2. It's like fantasy/superhero/love story/sci-fi/drama/comedy. All genres in one. 3. The art is captivating and tells a story. 4. The little side frames of Hazel's narrations is pretty great. 5. I feel like people will soon have Alana's haircut. And grow horns like Marko. 6. Fard. Puke in my mouth. “Fard will eat your souls and piss them out Fard’s anus.” 7. OH, SNAP! Gwendolyn showed up. She is not how I pictured her. 8. I just can't handle Marko's dad dying. 9. I love the cover of this one. Alana with the pink bubble gum and headphones. 10. I like that the book Alana loves is basically the story of her and Marko. 11. When Alana meets Marko and hits him with the butt of her gun, “In romantic comedies, this is called the meet-cute.” Hahaha 12. Alana stop being naked in front of your father in law. 13. Fard’s balls again. Yeesh.
This is killing me. Reading single issue comics is painful. You get a tantalising snippet of story and then it finishes abruptly. I WANT MOOOOOOORE!
Seriously, I love this story. And the one good thing about the single issues is that I get the hilarious letter page from Brian K Vaughan at the end of each issue. I particularly enjoyed Fiona Staples writing about her process (and getting criticised for correctly spelling 'colour' by her partner in crime!).
