Great Resource On High Blood Pressure

This book goes over, in painstaking detail, the reasons why you should keep track of your BP, and ways to lower it. Dr. Sullivan is very thorough in expressing the importance of keeping a normal blood pressure. I liked the chapter on the different types of medications. It’s a nice guide to look up medications my family is on, or medications my doctor wants to put me on. There are a lot of great tips for a healthy lifestyle. Also there are a lot of scary warnings as to what can happen with uncontrolled high BP.
The book is repetitive. I guess to emphasize the points. But that put me off reading the same thing for the fifth time.

Informative

There is a lot to be said for researching and learning about different illnesses. I want to have an understanding at least of the basics.

This breaks down high blood pressure into something that can be understood by a layman. There is explanation of medications and lifestyle changes that was also useful.

Definitely worth picking up if you or a family member has high blood pressure. It increases understanding far more than you get from a simple trip to the doctors office.
