Rosie is just a scrawny alley kitten, but she's braver than she looks-and that's a good thing, because when a little girl brings her home, Rosie will meet the family dog, confront wild animals, be fooled by her reflection and find herself out on a limb. It will take some time for Rosie to get used to her new surroundings, but she eagerly laps it up, and her new family can't help loving her.
In this charming alphabet book, Niki Clark Leopold and Susan Jeffers join forces to introduce us to a most endearing kitten on her journey of discovery.
7/11/2025 - Madison picked this out at the library all by herself. I liked that it actually had a story to it and wasn’t just 1 line per letter. -1 star for “X is for eXtra.” Even Madi said, “No, x is for x-ray!”
Squirt's first pick at the library. He saw it displayed on the top shelf and ran toward it, saying "Meeow! Meeow!" very loudly. He kept on saying this for the rest of the time we were there, and would not relinquish his treasure to the librarian for check-out without much protestation. He hugged it tightly to his chest all the way home! Everytime I "read" it to him, he says "Meeow! Meeow!" over and over - not listening at all. I can't explain this cat mania he has (we don't have a cat) - but he simply adores them. This book is great!
I love the story about a lost and found kitten. It's written in alphabetical format meaning each page starts with the letter of the alphabet while also telling the story. It's not your average ABC book and I like that a lot. Plus, the illustrations are amazing and full of detail. I love them so much. Great book! I might use it for our Pets Unit for preschool.
This terrific alphabet book is about the story of the journey of a scrawny alley kitten. Its a story about bravery as she is taken in a by a young girl which is the beginning of a new adventure. Filled with great illustrations. A cute story of that is bound to entertain young readers.
As the author wrote this book, she went through the alphabet and stated how that letter related to the Kitten. I really enjoyed reading this book because it goes through the entire alphabet. This book is great for when students are learning the alphabet and how things can relate to each other.
Genre: Contemporary Realistic Fiction Grade: K This book was such a great book. This book is great for students who are starting to learn the alphabet and see things that start with those letters. I also liked all of the illustrations in the book as well.
It's a cute alphabet story! Definitely unique, and tells a story with a beginning, middle, and end. It's engaging even for the six month old I babysit; she loves it! Illustrations are top notch adorable.
This book is a cute story about a kitten who adventures off and meets new friends. Children will really enjoy the pictures in this story. This book is great for young children.
Precious ABC book, about a kitten, the little girl who takes her home, and the adventures she has. The pictures are whimsy, fun, and bright! There's a poem for each letter.
Lovely illustrations and cute story about a kitten that also incorporates each alphabet letter in the story. I liked this one because it was a actual story an not just A is for apple etc...
This kitten is too cute! I believe children will love this book. It explains a kitten's journey while using the alphabet. Kids can be entertained and be taught at the same time! That combination gives it an "A" in my book.
This is a great book for children who love kittens. The books goes through the alphabet, using each letter to describe some a cat does. The pictures also show what the page is describing, giving a better understanding to children.
Adorable. Just adorable. I can't even handle how cute this book is. It just made my day a little brighter. I mean, who doesn't love a kitten? The book also rhymes, which is nice.
Notes to self: a rhyming alphabet book about the antics of Miss Rosie and her buddy Amos; read to John Elberfeld in children's room at Camden ME library
