I remember first seeing Tony Bennett sing on Mr. Rogers’s Neighborhood as a little kid, and the rest was history. I’ve always been a fan of his bright personality and “swingy jazz” style. This collection of photos and biographical facts were tastefully done, and I learned so much, and I thought I knew mostly everything about Tony! I enjoyed the read very much!
This book was published in 1997, and I've had it laying around my house for a few years. It is the kind of book I refer to as a coffee table book. It is 11"x 11", so I mostly just enjoyed looking at all the pictures in it these last few years. Yesterday I picked it up and started reading it. I guess you could say I've been on a Tony Bennett high this week-end. I just finished reading Tony's latest book "Life Is A Gift: The Zen Of Bennett" on Tuesday.
This book was full of some of the information that was in his latest book, but the pictures were what caught my eyes. Both books complement each other. This biography was written by Matthew Hoffman and ends in 1997. So much more has happened in Tony's life in the last 16 years, but I enjoyed this book just the same and awarded it 3***
