Like getting shipwrecked and surviving a hurricane weren't bad enough! Now I've got to support my sort of boyfriend's plan to get off this island, even though I think his idea's kinda lame. But with everything going so well between us, I don't want to rock the boat... er... make waves... well, you know what I mean! Especially with Evil Angela supporting Josh's plan all the way.
I wish I knew what to do. The stakes are pretty high now. And I can't help wondering if maybe, just maybe, there's another way to get back home....
So here's the thing. If you are a fan of the Dork Diaries series, then this is probably right up your alley. It isn't in a diary format, but other than that, it has all the same elements. Like Dork Diaries, this is continuous storyline, but, also like the other series, the author pretty much recaps each book what's happened before, so it doesn't much matter if you've read the others. I hadn't, and while it was obvious I has missed stuff, it didn't limit my understanding of the story. Unfortunately, I'm not a big Dork Diaries fan, and I'm seriously over middle school drama books, so this book couldn't end fast enough for me.
This book is a good book for pre-teens and teens. It deals with a girl and her classmates getting stuck on an island and trying to develop a plan to get off. It's a nice light read, and would be perfect for reading in the summer. I enjoyed the plot, and even though it doesn't sound realistic, the story line is relateable, since the main character struggles with liking a boy and is trying to get him to notice her. Overall I give it 3 stars!
I remember reading this series all the time when I was younger and absolutely loving it!! Looking back, i remember thinking that this was one of the best children's books I'd ever read at that point in time! :P kudos "Sandy Beech" ;)
I absolutely adored this series! As some of you may know, I really enjoy books about people (especially kids) that have to survive and escape from a place, so this book was great for me. :)
