Fascinating AU of the 2nd half-ish of DH.

The vision/dream Harry has is of Voldemort torturing Draco as a way to vent his frustration about Harry escaping the night Hedwig and Mad-Eye are killed. Immediately as he wakes up, Harry starts heading off to rescue Draco. Ron and Hermione not only refuse to come, but try to stop him. Lupin hears the argument and--somewhat surprisingly--not only takes Harry's side but decides to accompany him to the manor to rescue Draco.

They get in okay, get Draco (who is nearly dead, and would have died if not for Harry's rescue), but on the way out are seen and have to start fighting their way out. Snape was trying to help them escape without betraying his role as spy, but ends up having to reveal himself in order to get them out.

So it is Harry, Draco, Lupin and Snape--living in uneasy peace in Grimmauld Place--who begin as the Horcrux hunters in this story. The places the Horcruxes are kept are different here too, and the riddles and traps around them are interesting and entertaining.

Also intriguing are all of the things that are different here because of the different alliances--and how plausible they'd be in cannon if only things had been different. I was actually left wishing some things HAD been different in cannon so that more of this universe could have happened!

At that moment if Voldemort had boarded the plane and offered to Avada Kedavra him Harry would have seriously considered taking him up on it.

But I got my miracle.

"It's not a phase, or some sort of rebellion I'm going through, or whatever else your mum no doubt thinks this is. This is who I am. Harry Potter, the Boy Who Likes Cock."

I was considering reading this. The rating was good. The blurb sounded okay. And then I read the first paragraph and had to stop. Why? It was this phrase; "light ejaculated from the end of his yew wand…" I give free online fiction a lot of leeway; if the writing's good, I can forgive some plot holes or character inconsistencies, and if the story's good, I can overlook bad writing. Usually, if I go so far as to click on the link, I'll at least read the first thousand words. However, as humorous as phallic wand jokes can be in the right context, in the middle of a torture scene straight off the bat just didn't work. Ejaculated. It's not a menacing word (and I don't know why I'm still ranting about this...) It implies more of a squirt-plop-splat than a bolt of coloured lightning (...but I guess the word really struck me...). It was not le mot juste. Try le mot horrible (...or maybe I just wanted to flaunt my knowledge of pretentious French sayings).
