“Within Her Grasp” is an age-gap interracial erotic lesbian romance with light BDSM elements. It tells the tale of two women who had settled for unfulfilling lives. And then they meet.
White, thirty-something Marta Ingersoll was done with people. She just wanted to be left alone at work and at home, thank you. Her inside cat and the outside stray were all she needed. And her sister, Nora, too, of course. But that was it. And then, one fateful afternoon, her instincts to save a woman in obvious distress kicked in, and her life was shoved onto a strange new course.
Black, twenty-something Shanice Ward never got a break. Life had thrown challenge after challenge at the young woman, and this latest thing was too much, but it wouldn’t stop. Woken up from a sound sleep by someone trying to remove her clothing, she shrieked for him to leave her alone. He didn’t, but then, the most amazing thing happened. She discovered that superheroes were real, and one had just flown into her room to save her, and her life was shoved onto a strange new course.
Danielle Grainger currently resides in the southeastern USA with several pampered fur babies. Always an avid reader, she got into writing after reading several novels which she felt didn’t accurately represent the BDSM lifestyle. With so many rampant misconceptions about the lifestyle, she took a chance and crafted an admittedly idealized version of one possible experience. Dani hopes not only to entertain her readers but to enlighten and educate as well.
For everyone, who loves when a book feels like a big, warm hug!
We meet many different characters in a book series and most of them we love from afar. I say from afar because they usually only appear briefly in the lives of the main characters and then quickly disappear again. It's like seeing them through opaque glass. Marta was one of the characters I fell in love with very quickly in the Bernadette Series and now this glass finally clears and I can see her in all clarity and with all her beautiful facets! The same goes for Shanice. She's this sweet little one who just belongs with Marta, and here they finally get their own really complex story to tell. A story that broke my heart several times. Shanice has to endure so much pain from the very first moment of this book. She is alone, helpless and in the hands of incompetent, impatient people, which has often made me really angry. It was hard to imagine her lying helpless in that hospital bed. Although hard times are nothing new for Shanice. She is a young but very impressive and extremely intelligent woman, who has come a long way despite her circumstances. At the moment of her greatest need, superhero Marta becomes their support and savior. Both must learn to trust again and to accept changes in life, because Marta has also suffered a lot of pain and loss in the past. Leaving everyday life behind and letting someone back in your heart can be a big hurdle. That's what this is about. Allow help and learn to accept it again.
Beautifully written by Danielle Grainger, as is every one of her books. So gentle and loving that it often moved me to tears. We are, of course, reunited with all of our beloved Denton Heights favorites and they are a beautiful, big part of this book! Of course, there is no shortage of hot scenes in this book. Although Marta is a gentle and extremely emotional person, she is also a Domme through and through. A must and not only for fans of the Denton Heights Series.
