I read this because Bernardine Evaristo mentioned at her London reading of Girl, Woman, Other that this book changed her life. So I thought, well I’d like some change in my life. This isn’t the typical self help book in that Black at least admits to the simplicity of his concepts. It’s meditation, y’all! We know this. Instead Black continues to remind us of what we somehow seem to never stop needing reminding of: your thoughts change your actions which change your life. There are some great concepts in here and I actually loved his repetition of the phrase “it only works!”. Implementing each of Black’s suggestions seems like it may take awhile, but he certainly makes a convincing case to stay the course.

The exercises in this book are great for visualization and goal achievement. Practical strategies that anyone can use in any situation. Highly recommend!
