Within Her Grasp: Denton Heights Book 3

Rate this book
“Within Her Grasp” is an age-gap interracial erotic lesbian romance with light BDSM elements. It tells the tale of two women who had settled for unfulfilling lives. And then they meet.

White, thirty-something Marta Ingersoll was done with people. She just wanted to be left alone at work and at home, thank you. Her inside cat and the outside stray were all she needed. And her sister, Nora, too, of course. But that was it. And then, one fateful afternoon, her instincts to save a woman in obvious distress kicked in, and her life was shoved onto a strange new course.

Black, twenty-something Shanice Ward never got a break. Life had thrown challenge after challenge at the young woman, and this latest thing was too much, but it wouldn’t stop. Woken up from a sound sleep by someone trying to remove her clothing, she shrieked for him to leave her alone. He didn’t, but then, the most amazing thing happened. She discovered that superheroes were real, and one had just flown into her room to save her, and her life was shoved onto a strange new course.

Danielle Grainger currently resides in the southeastern USA with several pampered fur babies. Always an avid reader, she got into writing after reading several novels which she felt didn’t accurately represent the BDSM lifestyle. With so many rampant misconceptions about the lifestyle, she took a chance and crafted an admittedly idealized version of one possible experience. Dani hopes not only to entertain her readers but to enlighten and educate as well.

Loved this book

I really liked this adorable book. Yes, it is an explicit romance novel, so I don't mean PG adorable. And thank goodness for that! I thought so many of the characters were just plum adorable. I'm not usually a reader of ff romance. And I was unfamiliar with this author, so my review isn't biased in those respects either. There were quite a few characters that were, obviously, in previous books. But it didn't detract anything from this story because we still get a brief backstory on them, so you know who they are. (But not any kind of long, drawn out backstories; because I don't know about you, but I don't care to read a lot of blah, blah, blah about a bunch of other people that aren't the main couple.) Marta and Shanice have become my new fav book couple. When I say I enjoyed this book, I absolutely mean it. Give it a sample; you'll know then if you'll dig it or not.

For everyone, who loves when a book feels like a big, warm hug!

We meet many different characters in a book series and most of them we love from afar.
I say from afar because they usually only appear briefly in the lives of the main characters and then quickly disappear again.
It's like seeing them through opaque glass.
Marta was one of the characters I fell in love with very quickly in the Bernadette Series and now this glass finally clears and I can see her in all clarity and with all her beautiful facets!
The same goes for Shanice. She's this sweet little one who just belongs with Marta, and here they finally get their own really complex story to tell.
A story that broke my heart several times.
Shanice has to endure so much pain from the very first moment of this book.
She is alone, helpless and in the hands of incompetent, impatient people, which has often made me really angry.
It was hard to imagine her lying helpless in that hospital bed.
Although hard times are nothing new for Shanice.
She is a young but very impressive and extremely intelligent woman, who has come a long way despite her circumstances.
At the moment of her greatest need, superhero Marta becomes their support and savior.
Both must learn to trust again and to accept changes in life, because Marta has also suffered a lot of pain and loss in the past.
Leaving everyday life behind and letting someone back in your heart can be a big hurdle.
That's what this is about.
Allow help and learn to accept it again.

Beautifully written by Danielle Grainger, as is every one of her books.
So gentle and loving that it often moved me to tears.
We are, of course, reunited with all of our beloved Denton Heights favorites and they are a beautiful, big part of this book!
Of course, there is no shortage of hot scenes in this book. Although Marta is a gentle and extremely emotional person, she is also a Domme through and through.
A must and not only for fans of the Denton Heights Series.

Within Her Grasp: Denton Heights Book 3
Book 3 of 3: Denton Heights

Marta had experienced the hardships of serving in the army, resulting in her battle with PTSD. Eventually, she made the honorable decision to leave the army in order to care for her mother. Despite her kind and compassionate nature, Marta had secluded herself within the confines of her home, only interacting with others when necessary, with the exception of her beloved sister, who truly understood her sweetness.

I highly recommend not just this book, but the entire series. Having devoured all three books, I can confidently say that each one holds a special place in my heart.

Shanice possessed a gentle soul, one that had endured immense pain and heartbreak throughout her life. Countless individuals had left her, which made me truly grateful when she found love and a sense of belonging with Marta. Both of them needed someone, and unbeknownst to them, they needed each other desperately.

My favorite moment within the story was when all the characters from the previous two books in the series united. Witnessing Marta and Shanice embark on a hike together, it felt as though their bond strengthened as they connected with the rest of the group.

Additionally, Nora, Marta's sister, brought a ray of light to the narrative. The author shed light on the struggles faced by individuals battling weight issues, highlighting how emotional turmoil can often lead to overeating. This exploration of various addictions beyond drugs fascinated me, as it emphasized that pain can manifest in different forms. In a way, I could relate to this, understanding the connection between emotional distress and seeking solace in food.

Within Her Grasp: Denton Heights Book 3 by Danielle Grainger is a book of 304 pages. It was published July 26, 2023, by Bibi Books Publishing Company.
This book deals with hard topics in a soft yet genuine way. I have read some BDSM books before but never really touched on MD/lg (Mama Domme/little girl) in such a way. I always imagined a Domme in a certain way. This book allowed me to gain a new understanding of what an MD/lg relationship can mean. The MD can vary in all cases and be a caregiver, mama, teacher, protector, and guide to teach and in a way parent her little or littles life/lives. I spent much time with tears in my eyes when I followed the developing trust and love between MD and her lg. The growth and nurturing were amazing and fulfilling from both perspectives. How wonderful and BDSM or not everyone might attempt to find love at its core. One person needs and the other fills that need even in reverse. Danielle Grainger has touched me in a new way. But now I am open to a new way to love and care and fill another’s life and needs. I think anyone could appreciate this book if they are open. I would give the book 5 stars but I am open to different styles and choices in life.

This is # 3 in the Denton Heights series. And it interweaves with the Bernadette series. I adore both series so much. In this book, we learn how Marta and Shanice meet. And how they met up with Miss Ricki and the rest of the Denton Heights gang. Marta is a loner, still very upset at the loss of her Mom. Shanice is an orphan who is involved in a tragic accident. Danielle has a written style that just pulls me in. I start her books and don't want to stop. The way Marta and Shanice learn to trust and lean on each other is so real. I hope there is more to Denton Heights. I am still invested in them all. I recommend this series and author.
Enjoy.

It thought me more about the Domme/little relationship and how beautiful this can be.
