Joseph Pasco is only 11 but he's in high school, thanks to an accelerated learning program. This does not make him popular. He's also selected to go to Egypt on an Archaeological dig - this also does not make him popular. He gets texts like 'josef pasco you suck' and 'you need to be ded'. His trip to Cairo allows him some freedom from the haters. He finds a buried toe bone at the famous Red Pyramid, and a dumb old pot at the City of the Dead. Not great finds - but they seem to have some kind of power. When he's being picked on, they hum - and buzz.
