Weight loss, specifically fat loss or targeted weight loss, is very misunderstood. It has always been assumed that the only way to lose weight is to reduce calories. But it is also about giving your body the proper nutritional demands that it requires in order to provide you with a healthy satiety response. The quality of your calories is equally as important as the quantity. In that regard, the HCG 2.0 protocol is more about calorie replacement rather than calorie reduction. It's smart weight loss. HCG 2.0, written by Dr. Zach LaBoube, founder of InsideOut Wellness and Weight Loss, is a contemporary, ketosis based version of the original HCG diet. Medicine is called a practice for a reason. As new technology and research become available, treatment protocols evolve, always for the better. Shouldn’t the HCG diet be the same? First published in 1954, the traditional HCG diet has helped millions achieve safe, sustainable, yet rapid weight loss. However, the strict tone and outdated calorie recommendations make the diet far more difficult than it needs to be. While the concepts and theory that inspired the original diet are still relevant, and even quite progressive, the protocol itself was stuck in the 50s and in dire need of revision. Introducing HCG 2.0, the first diet of its kind that is more about calorie replacement rather than calorie restriction. HCG 2.0 incorporates contemporary research into a variety of topics such as low-carb, ketosis dieting, the high protein/fat diets of Inuit Cultures and innovative new food statistics such as Estimated Glycemic Load, Fullness Factor and Caloric Ratios to add smart calories to the diet, thus making it a safer, more realistic weight loss option for the working adult. HCG 2.0 also utilizes a unique BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) calculation to determine the amount of calories you’re allowed to consume on your very own, individualized, HCG diet plan based upon your height, weight, age and gender. This is a significant difference from the traditional HCG diet which allows each dieter only 500 calories per day, whether male or female, big or small. HCG 2.0 also uses basic food chemistry to give you a wider variety of protein options and increases portion sizes of items higher in nutritional value, but void of the empty and unnecessary calories that are all too common in the Standard American Diet (SAD). It's smart weight loss. Whether you’re looking to lose weight or simply eat healthy and smart, HCG 2.0 will accommodate. Understand ketosis and the benefits to low-carb living. Learn the difference between positive calories and negative calories. Understand how to cut your caloric intake by 200-300 calories per day by simply addressing unnoticed habits, and much more. Don't beat yourself up with the traditional HCG diet or the worn out weight loss concepts that have failed you in the past. There's a smarter way to lose! After completing the original protocol successfully 4 years ago ( with doctor prescribed drops) I needed to finish my weight loss journey. This book provided very good easy to understand information based on current dietary examples not available with the original protocol. It made the use of today's food options easy to figure out. It was a great asset. My doctor gave me the option of shots or drops. For me the shots were easier and traveled well with minor prep. My results were great!
I liked the easy to read, easy to understand concept. I read pounds and inches 7 years ago and lost 100 pounds. Now I'm 15 pounds up and wanting a mother go... this book shed some light on 'dieting' for me and I am doing great this first week on pause 2 because of hcg 2.0.... improvement over the original diet!
This book gives you the inspiration needed to believe you can stick to this very hard diet and lose 20lbs within 5 weeks eating 500 up to 1200 calories depending on your BMR. Introduces new foods as well and suppliers to keep from depletion of vitamins and minerals, stop hair loss etc. I will be implementing some of his research.
An excellent starting point if you're interested in finding out about the diet.
It's also a really great update on the original HCG diet. The diet explained in plain English, with comparisons between the original and updated diet easy to understand. I swapped over to this version midway and I'm very happy that I did.
I didn't find all the grammatical errors others complained about, but he repeats himself too much. However, I find the book informative and helpful. I have been on the OP and struggle to lose weight, I had an idea it was due to the high carb levels and this book confirmed that could be the issue.
I already do the OP of hcg but with new job it will be more physically demanding. This book was recommended in an support group of mine. I am going to combine it with original and see what happens. Would have gave it five stars if it included maybe the first week meal plan and some blank charts to help calculate.
Encouraging view on weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight after
Concise, informative reference for HCG weight loss. The 2.0 protocol is entirely doable and the information on how it works is well written. Very motivating!
