I enjoyed this book. It definitely encouraged me and has me wanting to get more balance in my life to help me balance my own scale. I want to be healthy and this is a book that looks at more than just food and exercise. Worth a read if you're looking for encouragement and ideas.
Hmm, not sure. There is good info here - not surprisingly, if you're chasing around, stressed out, and not making time for yourself, your weight could become an issue - but I'm not sure there were any startling a-ha moments for me. And I found the structure a bit of a mess; topics seemed contrived to fit with a cheesy acronym, instead of presented in an easier-to-follow way. The blatant promoting of Curves health clubs wore rather thin too.
In short, there are nuggets here, but you'll have to work to extract them.
I'm not the right audience for this one. I think it was when the author stated that women are doing too much these days... and a few paragraphs later listed all the roles and jobs in her own fabulous super busy life.. which sounded an awful lot like what had just been discussed as a bad thing. But I guess that could just be my impression... make your own decisions, maybe this is the right book for you.
If your typical weight loss plan involves calorie-counting and extensive menus, this book is not for you. However, if you are willing to closely examine your habits and cut yourself some psychological slack, this book may just work for you. -- Paula C.
