This commentary on the last book of the Bible is done in a simple, easy-to-understand, freehand style. In this work, Dr. Ruckman presents the dispensational, premillennial teaching found in the book of Revelation, bringing to light a vast amount of prophetic material not covered in works by other orthodox expositors. Because of its simplicity and content, this commentary has for years been one of his most popular books. As in all of his works, Dr. Ruckman approaches the book of Revelation with absolute, implicit trust in the Authorized Version of 1611, and with nothing but indifference or contempt for those who think they are smart enough to tamper with it. Peter Sturges Ruckman (November 19, 1921 – April 21, 2016) was an American Independent Baptist pastor and founder of Pensacola Bible Institute in Pensacola, Florida (not to be confused with Pensacola Christian College, also in Pensacola, Florida).
Ruckman was known for his position that the King James Version constituted "advanced revelation" and was the final, preserved word of God for English speakers.
It was mostly a great read, though his rants about Catholics and other denominations went on a bit and were a little too vitriolic for me. Also the stuff at the end about space travel in eternity felt a bit far out, and led me to do a Google search on this, which brought up a website claiming 'Ruckmanism' to be a kind of a cult. Now I don't know what to think, but certainly, this book was engaging enough for me to read it front to back in little over a week.
Revelation 1:3 says you are blessed if you read the book of Revelation in the Bible. Ruckman’s Commentary is a great resource to help you get that blessing.
