In 2006, he received the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen for Air Gear. Apart from working with manga, he designed some of the alternate character outfits in the PlayStation 2 version of Namco's 3D fighting game Tekken 5, and a guest character in Soul Calibur IV named Ashlotte.
His pseudonym "Oh! great" is a play on words. His pen name, written in Japanese order, is "Ōgure Ito", which is pronounced similarly to and can be romanized the same as the Japanese rendering of the English words "Oh great," ōgurēto. Furthermore, "Oh" can mean "king" in Japanese, making it possible to read the name as "the great king".

The last volume actually wasn’t the end of the Red-Dragon-Blood/Guy-With-Eight-Arms arc, it actually finishes up in the beginning of the 11th volume. It actually felt like it never ended because the transition into the next arc is so seamless.
We lose Souichirou and Maya because he gets kidnapped from the hospital and she goes after him. They are never seen again for the remainder of this bind-up. After that I honestly have no idea what happened in these volumes. It was literally filled to the brim with overlaid thought bubbles of characters philosophising about shit like fuckin’ samurai spirit, what constitutes a real warrior, the nature of life itself. Holy fucking shit, I DON’T CARE. It was so wack, honestly. Who does Oh! Great (the author) think he is? Just shut up. Honestly it was nothing more than distracting and confusing, obviously, because past it I have no idea what I just read.
There was lots of fighting. That much I could definitely make out. You know how I said I was hoping this volume would bring returning villains? Well holy shit there were an actual fuck-load of returning villains. The main man Takanahashi Sr. himself (and the rest of his posse), that crazy chinese guy who got his forearms cut off, the guy Souichirou beat up in the training arc, and even Shin! And that motherfucker is dead! And of course there were new antagonists as well. By golly-gee.
Actually, I bet the reason I don’t know what happened in these volumes is because LITERALLY NOTHING HAPPENED. I think it might have literally been just fights for two more volumes straight. And philosophising, of course. A never ending stream of bullshit philosophising. Thinking back, that’s definitely all that I remember, and I literally just finishing reading this whole bind-up in one swell swoop so shit’s as fresh as it gets. Which at this point is not very fresh—you get it. The only thing I actually proper enjoyed was in volume 12 Takanahashi Jr. (ex-best character) finally showed his badassness again, so that was fantastic and lovely to see. Otherwise, honestly, this was pretty shit.
I literally couldn’t care less about the main cast fighting a bunch of fucking nobodies. Oh, they’re a part of “F”? Don’t care, they’re still a nobody as far as I’m concerned. I’m so over these past connected arcs and with fuckin “F” and whatnot. I’m actually kind of excited for the tournament arc though, because we’re going to see all the people WE ACTUALLY GIVE A SHIT ABOUT fighting, and it will no doubt change some character relationships and create interesting dynamics in the fights! Just picture it: Takanahashi Sr. vs Takanahashi Jr. Beautiful. Or Takanahashi Sr. vs Maya. Wonderful. Though I don’t know how it’s going to work, because from what I remember can’t Takanahashi Sr. literally not exert himself for more than 30 seconds or else he’ll die or something? Wack. We’ll see what happens. See, I’m not some fight-prude, okay! I just have STANDARDS for fuck’s sake.
I actually feel kind of pissed off at this point. Like what the fuck was this, man? A bunch of bullshit. It’s getting annoying. It feels like I just spent the last few hours reading nothing. I’ll probably continue reading this series so I hope it develops some more substance soon and that the tournament arc is good. I had this rated two stars because after I finished reading it I thought it was “okay”, but after writing this rant I’m proper pissed so fuck it. One star, bitch. This has been such a huge disappointment. (This is my most profane review I’ve written in a while, I apologise.)

En el tomo 12 parece que toda la historia empieza a cobrar sentido, le doy 4 estrellas porque espero más.

Great Volume
As the story goes deeper and gets darker, everyone is on a path to their destinies. The battles intensify and the group grows stronger. Love the direction this anime has turned into. Would never have thought it would get this dark and full of Twists.

Synopsis:
A supernatural smackdown shakes the holy ground of the Enmi and Soichiro is led further down the path to the awakening of his demonic powers. Maya heads for Kyushu while the members of the Juken Club assemble to try and save Soichiro from himself. Surrounded by the members of the “F,” Bob and Masataka will have to give it everything they’ve got to survive! Masataka’s true power is put to the test—with his friends in need of help and a host of enemies in need of a proper thrashing, can his fists do away with this new danger?
My Thoughts:
This volume is one of my favorites because there's a lot of Masataka in it.
First, we get the resolution to Soichirou's fight with Mataza Tsumuji. It ends badly for everyone. Mostly, because Soichirou gets consumed by his dragon and loses control. He damn near kills Mataza, but Yorihira protects them and then Makiko finally gets there and manages to stop him, but at a terrible price. This then leads to us seeing someone I wasn't expecting to see in this series: Soichirou's father. It's looking like he's had a hand in things for the last eight years. Eight years ago, he took Makiko's left arm and disappeared, eight years ago, Shin's dragon powers could be controlled and eight years ago, Mataza's red feather powers were awakened. Sohaku seems to be controlling some of the people around Mitsuomi known as F. F is a group of children of the former heads of the 12 founding families of the Takayanagi. Trying to keep all of this together is hard. You've you got the red feathers which is the wing of the Takayanagi with supernatural powers and the white feathers which is the wing of the Takayanagi without supernatural powers. This is why some of our characters have weird powers and some don't. There are all kinds of branches and what not. I need a damn chart!
It seems some of these people, Sohaku is controlling with some kind of charm. That's how we're introduced to Madoka. Once she woke up and realized what was going on, I felt sorry for her. I think she may develop a crush on Masataka, though. She might want to realize that he's still got it bad for Aya, though. Anyway, there's still that thing with that chip going on. I don't completely understand it, but I'll keep following along until it becomes a bit more clear. Especially with this Tetsuhito on the scene who seems to have powers like Soichirou's.
Anyway, Masataka really proved himself in this volume. I love seeing him fight. He can be perverted at times, but he's still my favorite character. Everything he did in v.12 has Sohaku wondering if Masataka is the supreme warrior. Why is Sohaku looking for the supreme warrior? I thought all of that mess died when Mitsuomi defeated Shin. I guess not.
