I liked this book better than London Escape, because it was a bit more original. There were a couple things that reminded me of a specific Criminal Minds episode, (can’t get into the details though, it would be too spoiler-y) but for the most part, I did not suffer from déjà vu while reading this.
Jason was a much bigger character in this story, and I must say, I didn’t like him as much as I wanted to. His joking around with Kit got on my nerves at times. Well, the content of his jokes did. Not that they are dirty or anything; I just would get annoyed if my ex-boyfriend joked around like that with me, and I definitely would have told him to knock it off. I highly doubt anyone else will be annoyed by this, though.
The action, really, is what I love about this series. It reminds me a tad of the Gallagher Girls books (the later ones, definitely not I’d Tell You I Love You but Then I’d Have to Kill You), so naturally I love it! You won’t get bored with this series, that’s for sure. After finishing this I know that I’ll be reading the next book. This is a great series, especially for people who like to read spy/thriller stories!
I agree with Karen, enjoyed Finding Sanctuary more than London Escape. I could not put this book down and read it quickly. I can relate with Kit in that I have a crazy fear of heights and the bridge chapter made ME so nervous just imagining being in their shoes! I love the progress that Kit and Jason made in their relationship in this book. I cannot wait for book 3, when is it coming out again?!! Cacey, you really have a talent with this... I definitely see growth in this second book, keep up with all of this fantastic writing!
I actually enjoyed this book better than London Escape. I think part of it was due to the fact that I got the answers to several questions I had after reading the first book. I often find the first book in a trilogy is the best one but that is not the case here. I like the mix of mystery, family ties and romance. Cannot wait to read Book 3!
This is a fun, exciting, fast-paced, yet thoughtful sequel to London Escape. These books are written for middle schoolers, and while they're certainly clean enough for younger readers, it's entertaining and interesting enough for adults too.
My only complaint - I hate reading on my laptop. For the next book, I will wait for the paper copy to come out!
I didn't love it AS MUCH as London Escape, but I'm a sucker for the kinds of puzzles the author used in LE. =)
Finding Sanctuary is a very solid #2 of a trilogy. The relationships deepen, the story arc becomes more important, the characters gain dimension, the primary relationship... well, I won't spoil it.
Keep up the good work, Cacey Hopper! I'll definitely be in for #3!
This book is impossible to put down. I tend to love the second book in trilogies as they often focus on relationships and characters' internal struggles. This book is no exception. The way the relationship between Kit and Jason was developed was perfect. The plot was fast-paced and engaging. I loved it more than London Escape and eagerly anticipate the next book in the series.
