Rate this book
Are you going to the Czech Republic for a day, a week, a month, or many years? This guide is a must have for those who want to learn the alphabet, pronunciation, phrases, advanced grammar, and everything in between! Also included is an informative chapter on what to know about the Czech Republic, including customs, Czech attitudes, food, public transportation, holidays, and much more! Enrich your experience by learning more about this beautiful country and its language. The chapters in this book provide an in-depth explanation of the most difficult concepts of the Czech language, yet written so that everyone can understand. No previous linguistic knowledge necessary. Each section is marked as beginner, intermediate, or advanced, so you can get straight to the most important information for your desired speaking ability. As the author, I lived in various cities in the Czech Republic for over two years, and am fluent in the Czech language. During my stay, I ardently studied the language, and spoke with Czechs for hours a day in different volunteer capacities. Finding the existing Czech language books to be inadequate, I sought to write a guide to speaking Czech that was both easily understandable and to the point. This book is written by a native English speaker for English speakers. Paired with a good dictionary and lots of speaking, this guide will surely teach you all you need to know to become There are a few tables (i.e. 2-3) that may be too big to view properly on a smartphone size screen. I recommend viewing these on a larger screen, such as an iPad, Kindle, or computer.

Quite an easy-to-read grammar book that takes the reader on a journey through Czech grammar. The book contains three levels so that you know how basic or essential each part is (which could also guide 2nd and 3rd readings after more experience is gained). A few parts get a bit tedious with lists, but that may be the nature of the language.
