”Lucky Day” is a million dollar jackpot TV show that Two-Face is getting ready to rob. He’s not even going to flip a coin - he wants to do this one!
Alfred happens to be watching this show when Two-Face says he’s going to show the audience what kind of creep the winner is. His father!
Batman calls Batgirl to help. It’s a school night for Robin and it;s too dangerous. This implies Batgirl is a bit older than Tim Drake.
Batman uses his watch to figure out that Two-Face is waiting until 10:22pm (or 22:22pm) to make his move. (This caused me to search for ‘Batman watch’ on eBay. Don’t do this.’ Or ‘Robin watch’ or ‘Batman Smart Watch’. You have been warned.
Two-Face is letting the public know what a louse his father was. Turns out the coin-flipping thing was inherited from his dad.
The action scenes are really great in this book too.
As the time comes up, Harvey flips a coin on his father’s life. His henchmen are a little disturbed that this wasn’t a straight forward robbery of the money.
”This is what we do to two-timin’s double-crossers, Two-Face!”
That was a lot of fun! A good Two-Face story with family drama! Definitely 4 stars!
After reading the first issue of Batman: Gotham Adventures and enjoying it as a something I read aloud with my kids at night I thought I dive into this series with the purchase of the second issue on Kindle. I’m glad I did; my kids and I enjoyed the story presented in this issue. The story in this issue is titled “Lucky Day” and it involves the villain “Two-Face.” A Television game show is interrupted when Two-Face barges in with a criminal gang and wants to take the money. But the true reason is revealed the more Two Face talks and it isn’t about money but going against one of the contestant which turns out to be his father. Batman and Batgirl arrives on scene at the studio to save the day and even had to save Two Face from his very crew that he tricked and did not tell them the truth for his real motivation for why they were there. It was a fun story.
Gotta love a good family dysfunctional representation even in the cartoon genre. This series again packs so much into so tight a space and not enough Batman intervention but otherwise thoroughly enjoyable.
I always love it when we get background stories on the villains! Especially when the bad guy wins! This was no exception. Great look at two-face back story.
