I have been ordering kindle versions of Batman: Gotham Adventures issues because my kids and I enjoy the Batman Animated Series on Television that first ran in the 1990s and because we also enjoyed comic books based upon the 90s series. This is the fourth issue we read aloud together. We thought it was fun. This issue covers a story called “Claws” that involves Catwoman. The scene open up with three criminals that were attempting a carjacking and Batman shows up on the scene to try to stop them. Catwoman also shows up on the scene and helped Batman and even chased after one of the criminals trying to get away. When Catwoman caught up to the criminal he bargained with her to get away by telling Catwoman about a horrible criminal testing of animals. She lets him go and told Batman he got away but afterwards she pursue this lead she’s been informed of, and rescues the cats that were tested upon. But she goes further by going after the company boss that funded the research which brings Batman into the story again as a detective investigating the kidnapping of the CEO. I won’t give away the whole story but there’s enough here for readers to know what this is about. This was clean fun and a story that kids and adults would enjoy, especially if you like the story telling and ways characters are drawn from the Animated Series. I give this five out of five: It wasn’t the most epic story told, but I do not find anything I can criticize about this issue.
