I made a deal with the devil, AKA Prince Nikolai Isenberg.
Now I owe this savage vampire my life.
And if I’m not careful, he might collect.
All I wanted was to save my beloved clan, not wage war with the oldest, deadliest vampires in existence, but they dragged me into their conflict, now I’m fighting for our survival.
I’ve sacrificed too much already. My friends. My home. My mate.
My world’s been shattered, but the Elders won’t stop until they control me—or leave me ruined. I have one chance to destroy my enemies—by surrendering my heart and my dark magic to the wicked monster sworn to kill me. I’m willing to pay the ultimate price, if giving up my freedom saves everyone I love, but somewhere along the way, I’ll have the vengeance I crave.
That’s a promise I mean to keep.
** Eternal Legacy, the final installment in the Shadowsend Vampire Clan series, is a #whychoose vampire romance featuring enemies to lovers snark, forbidden love, princess core vibes, hot villains, fated mates, morally gray men and a heroine who fights for the fate she deserves.
Fueled by black coffee, ice cream and bad nineties music, L.A. McGinnis spends her days writing best-selling steamy fantasies filled with damaged heroes who long to be whole and smart, authentic heroines. A life-long fascination with storytelling inspired her to weave these contemporary tales of legendary fated mates where the princess never needs rescuing, but sometimes the hero does.
Hot reverse harem vampire romance!! Need I say more!!!😂 This is how you write brilliant vampire romance! L.A. McGinnis's Shadowsend vampire Clan is fantastic and she has everything you could want in vampire romances. I don't read a lot of reverse harem like I've said before because I very rarely like all of the players But! Damn! This one has four of the most dangerous and beautiful alpha males I've ever read!!! Rowan,Finn,Darrow and now the ancient and very powerful Nikolai! I'd personally never leave my bed!! Nikolai has always played both ends with half truths and deception and is a wild card and not knowing where his true alliance lies has the others edgy and wanting to kill him at every turn. But they need him to fight the evil and powerful mage Magnis who won't stop till he gets his powers back from Aisling. The only way they have a chance to get Darrow back after Magnis kidnaps him is to go to The Castle of fates. Their they have to bargain with the three most powerful witches and while one is Sabine, Nikolai's sister the other two Astra and Beatrix especially want their pound of flesh in return for their help on getting them onto Magnis's island. This book is fast paced with plenty of action and twists and not only is the main characters involved but Scarlett and Wolf and Dravin a devious and wicked ancient who's going through the women like socks until he sets eyes on Sabine!! I really like this vamp!!! With heartache and lots of angst and a great storyline and some really AMAZING and STEAMY sex scenes with some of the hottest hornest vamps to walk the earth its a complete homerun for me and checks all my boxes for paranormal boyfriends!! This is the last book of the series and L.A. left nothing unsaid or undone! It was a fabulous conclusion to the series and her unique characters! I won't forget them for a long time! Ty! L.A. for giving Nikolai his happy ending!! After so much pain and loneliness he deserved some happiness too! And I adore this bad boy vamp!! Until next time Luv's😉💋
I am sobbing SOBBING that this world is finished The HEA was well deserved Laura smashed these books out of the park I’m telling you!
So this books sees everyone finally getting what they deserve and I am HERE for it literally overjoyed for Esme and a Sabine more than most. Do I wish that the wicked witch of darkness was also killed? Yes, but does the little plot twist leave an opening for more books? also yes!
I am honestly so emotional I wish I had more of ash and Nik I love them I love this world and I am heartbroken it’s over
This was such a fantastic series!! It is what introduced me to McGinnis, and I’m hooked!!
The characters, their depth was incredibly well written, and I became deeply invested in what became of them! Even the side characters caught my interest and had me wanting more!! This was definitely a character driven series, but so much more!!
If you love Vampire concepts and Vampire relationships, RH Paranormal romance, magic, action and suspense, and much more, you will also love this series!!
I’ve read the third series in her three Vampire Clan series, but now I want to go back and start with the Darkfell Vampire Clan, which I’ve already purchased, and go from there!! Also I’ve been reading her Wicked Realms Dark Romantasy RH series and am looking forward to book three!!
If you enjoy RH Romance, then you need to check out this talented author!!
Amazing conclusion to this series!!! This read has you on the edge of your seat the entire time!! I read this in one sitting, and you definitely don't want to put it down, one of those you could stay up all night reads. There were some things I guessed and some that were completely unexpected. Aisling sure went on a ride in this one, just one thing after another. You get your steam, action and fighting, heartbreak, and betrayals, this book has it all! I loved how this ended, although I'm sad to say goodbye to this series. I think each series that L.A. McGinnis writes gets better and better, although they have all been amazing.
I received an ARC of this book, all opinions and thoughts are my own.
I wanted this book so bad because I needed to know the ending. Now that I know I just want to go back! This has been such a whirlwind of a series with such an amazing group of characters. My heart was broken for most of this book and my brain had whiplash! Magnis and the Elders were super evil and horrendous, but I love how Ash and her men stay so strong through it all! This series has everything you could possibly want: fighting, steam, magic, mates and mayhem! Plus it has Nikolai, so what else could you possibly need?! A find farewell to a wonderful series! I can’t wait to see what L.A. McGinnis comes up with next! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
This was a great conclusion to this wonderful series. I really enjoyed the story of Ash, Darrow, Rowan, Flynn, and Nikolai. I am so invested now in reading the other RH series this author has written. This is a fast-paced read (as usual) and full of surprise, spice, and a great storyline. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a well-written RH Vampire story.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Let's bow ourselfs to the immense talent of Ms.McGinnis! As always she crushed my expectations to the ground and outdone herself!A perfect ending for the Shadowsend clan series, with so many turns and twists I was kept on my toes until the perfect end! Aisling ,sweet ,fierce and with such strenght in her core will rise above all that evil Magnis throws her way, even death. And Nicolai sexy and cold,or perhaps not so cold at all....No spoilers because this series is an absolute must read!!!
Oh, Nickolai ♥️ Another amazing story that I loved every second of. Such fast paced drama whipping me from one dangerous situation to another, I literally could not get enough. Anxiously waiting for the story to play out the way I wanted it to. So many unexpected moments that kept me riveted. A powerful, beautifully written story with many steamy scenes and plenty of kick ar$e action that L.A. writes to perfection. My heart bled for Nikolai so ruthless, complex and troubled but underneath a misunderstood, secretive man that only Aisling could truly understand if she’d only take the time and effort to do so. Oh, Nickolai - a perfectly imperfect character that touched my heart. An amazing book and series that I wholeheartedly recommend you read - you won’t regret it.
This is book four and the final one in the series. It’s a tough read honestly. Aisling gets herself hurt more than anything. She always has the best intentions but they seem to get her physically hurt every time. The villains were off the charts devious. Magnus and his followers were sneaky. Poor Dar my heart broke for his time captured because it was soul shattering. Dar would never be the same. I’m disappointed that the author made Rowan weak so many times throughout this series. In book one I thought for sure he would be her first as her mate but no Dar took that, then Finn was next, Nikolai, and then Rowan. I wish Rowan was written as a stronger alpha, better use of his powers, and more confident. Rowan, her actual mate, was an after thought way too many times. There is a happy ending for their clan or should I say coven. Read On!
I'm reviewing the whole series here. This was one of the best fantasy series I've read in a very long time. I flew through these books.
It all starts when Aisling (a vampire "princess") is hidden away from her clan, for protection for reasons beyond her control or complete understanding, in the human world for 7 years. Whisked away from her clan on the night of her mating to Rowan. 7 years later she's found and drug back to the castle and her best friends, Rowan, her mate. Finn, Rowan's brother. And Darrow, the best friend of Finn and Rowan. The 4 of them grew up together and had an unbreakable bond, until Aisling disappeared.
Once she's back at the castle, she learns that the queen is dead, Rowan is now the king, and she is to be mated to him right away to become queen consort. Nikolei is an elder and the one who brought her back to the castle (one of the oldest, ruthless vampires to walk the earth) and he performs the mating ceremony. But as it turns out, this ceremony is much more than that. She's not exactly welcomed back after disappearing for 7 years, shattering the hearts of the 3 boys that were in love with her. She has to find a way to repair their friendship and move on.
Secrets that have long been hidden are coming out, little by little and Aisling finds herself hunted and a war brewing for what she may or may not know. She's the key to the hidden souls that everyone is searching for. If found, all vampire-kind could be controlled by hideous power-hungry savages.
Aisling and the boys find themselves in the middle of a war, fighting both the high council and elders. In the midst of all this, they find their way back to each other. Nikolei is behind the scenes moving pieces on the board for his own ulterior motives. Many secrets and lies are hidden, awaiting the big reveal.
So much happens in this story but it all ties together in the end. There's some good spice and a lot of action. I laughed and cried during this series. It was well written and neatly tied up at the end. I have to say, I read all 4 books on Kindle but the 2nd book was the hardest to get through. There were tons of grammatical and spelling errors, like it wasn't edited AT ALL. But, that didn't make me want to stop reading it. I highly recommend this series for fantasy lovers.
Once again I am resuming this story with practically no memory of what has gone before. Ash lost her magic and has the soul jars. Finn is with Aisling and trying to spark her will to live. Nikolai and Rowan are attempting to locate Darrow who has been captured by Magnis. None of this elicits of glimmer of recognition for me.
Chapter 9 Where Sabine...had risked her life to save me, by transforming me into something I was never meant to be. I don’t recall getting any details on what Sabine did for Nikolai. Whatever it was turned out to be unnecessary since his soul jar hadn’t been destroyed.
Shades of Chumbawamba Tubthumping: “We make some headway and then we get knocked down again.” “Then we get back up,” he said firmly.
Chapter 29 regarding the 12 soul jars: ...but there’s no getting around the fact that three of these belong to dead males, three belong to my friends, and seven belong to our enemies. I’m no mathematician but doesn’t that equal 13?
One of my earlier reviews remarked on Aisling’s stubbornness and seeming stupidity. Looks like things haven’t changed much: Chapter 45 - I could go get reinforcements. Alert the entire castle Titus wasn’t who he said he was, blow Magnis’s plan out of the water while it was still early enough-hopefully- to stop him. Or I could figure this out on my own and turn his scheming against him.
Waiting with bated breath (jk) to see which she chooses.
Aisling did come up with a fairly good idea to have Nikolai read her memory to find out what the labels on the soul jars had said. Meanwhile he has bargained with Beatrix for this information. Ash never proposes this to him and it would have been worth it to see him slap himself for not thinking of it.
Why didn’t Aisling remove Magnis' head when she had the chance instead of slicing down his vertebrae? Did Magnis ever attempt to reap her soul? It would be a logical move unless there was some reason not to.
Esme is a wonder, even after death. The HEA does not come easily for these characters. Even after it’s achieved, Aisling can’t seem to shake the feeling that it won’t last. Sabine and Dravin, who woulda thunk it?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Ash and her entourage are back in the final book of this part of the series. Dar is taken, Ash is hovering as a shell of herself, Esme is dead, Maeve is dead, Rowan and Nikolai have been gone for two weeks, Finn, Val and Brendan are heartbroken looking for answers, the Darkfell clan came to pay their respects for Esme and to help where they can, Wolf and Dravin are still without their souls, Scarlett seeks comfort in Wolf’s arms, and the entire clan is scattered across the continent!
Finn will do everything in his power to help Ash climb out of the deep depression she has crawled into. Magnis is now too powerful for them to kill and immortal. He stole Ash’s powers on top of everything else. Everything will be based on deals with Sabine and her two sisters, Beatrix specifically! There will be betrayal, fights, imbalances of powers, new theories to discover and ponder, new awakenings and romance, and unexpected gifts from those who have passed.
Everything looks forlorn but Ash will not give up! Answers will come from the least expected places! They have to figure out how to kill Magnis once and for all and gather their clan back to their home. They need to figure out how to keep all of them together so they can be strong. Darrow will have one of the biggest battles ahead to fight…not only for his life but his soul and love for Ash. Nikolai is also going to have to put everything on the line to ensure they come out ahead.
Sabine will take an unexpected turn to help her brothers…but at what cost. And Beatrix…wow! At the end…what a MASSIVE surprise will be uncovered! The world building of the characters in the final book is unbelievable. The things they are put through and experience are unbelievable and will have you holding your breath in anticipation! What an epic conclusion to a fantastic series!
L.A. McGinnis delivers yet another breathtaking installment in the*Shadowsend Vampire Clan series with Eternal Legacy. This book raises the stakes, pushing Aisling and her men to their limits as they fight for survival, love, and the future of their world.
What I Loved:
- Aisling’s Unbreakable Will: At this point in the series, Aisling is no longer just fighting for herself—she’s fighting for an entire legacy. Her evolution from a rejected mate to a queen-like figure of power and influence is truly inspiring, and I love that her mate finally acknowledges it. She refuses to back down, refuses to leave anyone behind, even when the odds are stacked against her.
- The Romance Hits New Heights: The bonds between Aisling, Rowan, Darrow, and Finn continue to evolve in beautiful and unexpected ways, especially with the addition of Nikolai. Darrow’s transformation and loss of soul is devastating, but Aisling never gives up on him. Each man’s devotion to Aisling is tested in different ways, and watching their relationship strengthen through all the challenges, including new bonds, will leave you satisfied by the last chapter.
- A World on the Brink of War: The vampire politics and supernatural conflicts are more dangerous than ever. Secrets come to light, alliances shift, and enemies make their move. The looming battle isn’t just about survival—it’s about rewriting the rules of their world. Magnis and the Elders are resolved.
- Power, Magic, and Destiny: Aisling’s abilities take center stage in this book, revealing how vital she is to the balance of power. I love that by the end, everyone accepts her place within this dynamic world, and she’s finally acknowledged as the true queen she is.
Shadowsend vampire clan clings to existence by some very frayed threads. The soul jars could destroy the last of the Elders, weakening the arch-enemy Magnis - but that would also destroy four of their own true allies. Magnis is able to circumvent the their wards at will, and his repeated assaults against Aisling have resulted in her losing all her magic. Desperate, Nicolai, the frenemy of all Shadowsend, calls in every favor, makes every bargain, every promise to the most powerful magic-wielders of all - the Three witches, not of this realm, whose price for intervention is Nicolai's eternal loyalty and complete subjugation. For love of Ash, and to save her vampire lovers and the clan she holds dear, Nicolai makes his final deal, and his ultimate sacrifice. Ahh, but deals with witches are never as straightforward as they appear to be. And Nicolai, ancient vampire Elder, master of trickery and escape clauses, proves a worthy opponent to witches, Magnis, and all monsters who seek to harm Ash. Blazing magic duels, bloody battles, desperate gambles, and the over-arcing power of love light up the pages of this last volume of Shadowsend vampire clan's epic fight for vampire survival. Readers will rejoice - but this voluntary. independent ARC reviewer can't help but feel a niggle of regret to see the last of these fierce, loyal, magical, and *drool, sigh* smoking hot vampire heroes.
This book will absolutely blow your mind! All the twists and turns, all the interconnected characters. Surprises at every turn and my favorite, a deepening connection between the main characters. Aisling aka Ash seems to have lost everything, Esme is gone and she feels like she can’t move on. Her guys are scattered to the wind and getting back up just isn’t worth it. There seems no way to defeat Magnis, he’s just too powerful and ancient. They’ve thrown everything at him that they know, what more can they do? But it seems all is not lost, a few things come to light that bring renewed hope. Sacrifices and deadly bargains are made. Lovers put their lives on the line and betrayal lurks around every corner. Is there a way for all of them to make it out alive or will some give all for the ones they love? All throughout this book I never failed to be amazed at how original and far reaching this author’s creativity is. She writes such a beautifully interwoven tale that I’m in awe of her. There are no plot holes, no parts that make you go, huh? Nothing that interrupts the smooth flow of fantasy, paranormal and romance she weaves into her amazing books. I really had no idea how she would end this book but I absolutely loved how she did. It’s was so satisfying! Read everything of L.A. McGinnis that you can get your hands on, you will never regret it!
This is a simply wonderful fourth book in series, great characters and storyline you’ll enjoy All they had wanted was to try and prevent a war, to save the only thing that I care for my clan and now I find that I am dealing with the oldest and the most renowned and deadliest known to still exist, unfortunately the involvement has drawn her into conflict that could cost everything. In dealing with the vampire she had already lost nearly everything personal that has ever mattered to me but now it seems that the Elders are threatening that if she fails to comply with their requests then I am to be killed by a monster. Unfortunately her determination and her own propriety for good means that she has already decided that if this not enough she will pay the ultimate price by sacrificing her life, it is the only way she could live with herself and know that everything possible had bee done to save her people, I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Although it has been some time since I read the previous book, being reunited with the Shadowsend Vampire Clan has been such a delight. Aisling finds herself in yet another spiral where nothing is as it appears to be at first glance and what she once strived for seems to have lost its appeal. However, through the assistance of her closest ones she finds the strength to get up and start fighting for the ones she loves. Oh, Nikolai... he has really come through here and I guess that in this particular case indeed, it is save the best for last. He has grown so much through the series that it was a pure delight when he finally faced his deepest desires. These series has completely spellbound me as I love the precision and detail with which the author has portrayed the characters and their journeys. Epic battles, cunning minds and a world of magic are some of the elements that the series offer and for anyone with a soft spot for vampires, captivating storyline and some rather fascinating characters, the Shadowsend Vampire Clan would be such a blast to explore.
What a series, not sure if enough adjectives in dictionary and able to put into words how much I enjoyed this series that had me laughing, crying, frustrated, engrossed, addicted and loving every single minutes of Ash and her beaus. This series has me craving more so need to read other books with background characters especially as I wait for book four in the Wicked Realms series. L.A. McGinnis makes magical and for me highly entertaining and enjoyable reads with wonderful characters who are vulnerable, frustrating, lovable, quirky, sexy, great sense of humour along with darkness, gripping adventure and an addictive page turner of storylines. These books I know will be ones to return to again and again as there is so much to them and look forward to returning to spending time with Ash and all her gorgeous sexy erotic men. Thanks L.A. for writing such enjoyable rollercoaster adventure books. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
L.A. McGinnis has an act for ending a series and leaving us wanting more even though the story is perfectly completed.
We fall in love with the characters and the plot and everytime we get the the conclusion of one, our hearts ache for more. She doest not disappoint because there's always something new that she is planning and just waiting for us to be ready for it.
This is no exception. Alway the HEA, but not without some struggle and the main character have a lot of personal developpement to do before they can fanally get there.
I know we will see more of these amazing characters one way or an other.
Know that I did not want to finish this book and I have been forcing myself to take my take my time and enjoy it. It was hard to do because I only wanted to read more and more!
Thank you my friend for this incredible conclusion of the Shadowsend Vampire clan.
Eternal Legacy (Shadowsend Vampire Clan: Book 4) By L.A. McGinnis is a reverse harem paranormal romance. This book is the grand conclusion to the Shadowsend Vampire Clan and what a conclusion it is. These books just keep getting better and better if that’s possible. I love all of the characters even the villains. They are just developed so well and you see so many sides to them. The world building in this book and series is phenomenal. LA McGinnis definitely pulled everything out for the finale. It had all the love, battles, and surprises you would want. I loved reading about Ash, Darrow, Rowan, Flynn, and Nikolai. The side characters we meet make me hope to see some books pop up about them in the future. I hope to read a LOT more books by this author! These books are so good. I highly recommend this book and series.
Eternal Legacy, the final book of the Shadowsend Vampire Clan series and it was a roller coaster.
As a very emotional reader that finds myself sucked into character relationships and personalities, this one had me feeling the whole gambit of emotions. L.A McGinnis really put me through my paces.
Magnis is out to destroy everyone and everything Aisling loves until she gives him what he wants. Ash is kept on her toes fighting for those she loves, willing to do any and everything and the onslaught is never ending.
My heart aches for Nikolai and I longed for more of him by books end. I have been invested in Nikolai's story since the short story that started this series off and when the series finally reaches its end it is still not enough, a credit to L.A. McGinnis for creating strong characters and a rich world.
This RH romance story is so good, the twist and turns, the drama, the romance with wonderful characters in an engaging story, that's sad to say ends this this series. Aisling/Ash does the ultimate sacrifice to save Darrow, Rowan, Flynn. With her magic almost gone because of the battles against their arch-enemy Magnis, she has to trust Prince Nikolai Isenberg who's betrayed her before to protect them. Both badly hurt from their battle in the forest, Nikolai and Darrow are looking for the lair of three ancient witches to help them rescue Darrow. Only the witches have a condition. What occurs is an engaging story I'd enjoyed reading and that I volunteer to review this copy I'd received via Hidden Gems.
Each Series in LA Micginnis' world keeps getting better and better and this series of the Shadowsend Clan is no different. The author is getting more adept at creating heroines that have more consistent abilities and less annoying qualities. She had me totally in love with the original villain Nikolai from the start and this book lets us see his redemption. told from alternating points of view this series has amazing twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat as you are brought to the exciting face off of ancient creatures from other realms - good vs. evil. It is an exciting conclusion to a fantastic ride filled with action, suspense and of course, love. A great book that ends with love conquering all.
This being the last book in the Shadowsend Vampire Clan series, you’d expect L.A. McGinnis to pull out all the stops by the end of the book and you’d be right! Good versus evil never felt so satisfying. Just when I thought I had figured out how Ash and her men plus Nickolai would end the evil Magnis, something would get thrown into the mix that would negate that line of thinking and take me down another delightful rabbit hole. It took everything in me not to jump to the end just to be sure an HEA was there. I’m not going to give away anything but let’s just say everyone gets what they deserve in glorious technicolor! Reading this was such a rush. McGinnis rules! Can’t wait for her next book.
This is an action filled, emotional conclusion to the series. Aisling finds herself grieving, with no magic and no idea where her mate is. Matters become even bleaker when they realize Magnis has plans that are even more horrifying than they thought.
Alliances, family ties, and friendship are all tested as everyone scrambles to outwit and out fight Magnis and the elders. Relationships develop and deepen amidst the strife. Stolen moments of passion and levity help give them strength to keep going.
This is definitely a rollercoaster of a read! I couldn't put it down
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
All I can say is WOW! As usual Ms. McGinnis did not disappoint. The twists and turns, the highs and the lows my emotions were all over the place. Every page was a page turner and I just had to read the next chapter then the next then the next. I thought the Darkfell books were great but this series was even better. I'm now going to read Eternal possession which is a novella about Nickolai. Then I'm going to download the next clan, the Blackstone vampire clan series because if her last 2 series are anything to go by it will be well worth it.
Honestly, download and read you will not be disappointed
REVIEW So much happens in this book but oh my gosh so good.
Witches who are something other? Dark Mage Magnis is not human? or vampire? What the what is going on...
Rowan has no option but to work with Nikolai even if he doesn't want to. But he also knows Nik loves Ash as much as he does and he will always protect her.
Magnis has taken many and much... Ash wants to burn the world down but will settle on getting her family all together and safe.
This story is a roller coaster ride on steroids... when it runs out of track... who will be standing? Gah, my favorite out of the 4 books in this series! Intense, Gripping, and HOT!
Oh… My… God!!! I am equally sad a happy that it is over! Sad that I don’t get to read anymore and happy that I got to see a HEA, even with such a high amount of drama and trauma. Ash and he men had to go through so much to get to their HEA. It was just jaw-dropping. But this story was just astounding! I have not read a series this great in awhile! I loved every single bit of it! If you are reading this review and haven’t started this series, please go get book 1 and start there! If you are reading this and have read 1-3 and getting ready to start 4… get ready for a wild ride! L.A. McGinnis does not disappoint for this series end!
The final installment of the series is everything you would expect it to be: heartstopping, world-changing, and death-defying. Aisling is still reeling over the murder of Esme and the abduction of Darrow. Nikolai and Rowan have gone to try to find a way to rescue Dar from the island, but nobody has heard from them in days. Finn is trying to bring Aisling out of her funk by making her fight him - she always loses. The jars are still safely hidden away since they do her little good with no idea whose is whose. Ash finally decides she is going to have to go and rescue Darrow herself...
I was given a copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
