The depth has returned, but also we had Big Zam, vs Slegger, possibly my favourite sequence of the series so far (Or did I just like the name, Big Zam?) There's a lot more focus on the Zabis here, not to the extent that they get genuine depth but father calling son "Hitler's Tail" cut deep - moreso for the reader because a) the Federation don'y really come across as more squeaky keen than the Zabis and b) I know where this is heading in Zeta Gundam. This universe is populated by a lot of really terrible people but, damn, also a lot of noble sacrifices too, and that inludes on team Zabi.
