This is more of a reference/summary book for someone who is just starting on the path to a good, healthy life. The author is 86 years old, and for that alone I would read and pay attention to what he says, because clearly he has done some things that have worked. There are a few typos and chapter reference errors, but solid, basic information nonetheless.

A short and sweet (or should I say nutritious?) read. Sam Almond is an inspiration to take your health into your hands, no matter your age.

Spinach for Breakfast is written by an 86 year old man, and it contains his little tidbits that he hopes will help him live to the age of 100. It is a very quick read (only 46 pages long) that briefly talks about good foods to eat and how important exercise is to maintaining health.

This booklet is supposed to be the culmination of his research on how to live longer, but has no real definitive information except to eat oily fish three times a week, follow the 80% rule of satiety, eat more fruit and vegetables than anything else and to make sure to get in exercise, such as 'skipping, as it is fun'.

There is a brief chapter on spinach and three recipes, which are not your typical recipes, but a paragraph that describes how to cook the spinach.

I applaud the author for attempting to put general health tips in a booklet. I wish it were better organized for the purchaser's benefit, and was more informative. It is perfect for anyone who has absolutely no knowledge of the benefits of eating properly. However, this doesn't even really encapsulate how to properly eat. There is a 'chapter' on menu ideas, which could be helpful.

I do hope that the copy that was available for purchase had been properly edited, as the ARC needed much help.

The book was provided by the publisher for an honest review.

Maybe it is the title or the cover page attracted me to borrow it from the library. It turns out to be a sequence of notes on one man's impression or ideas of how to live long and well. It does not contain discussion or interpretation of scientific evidences or exert much effort to deepen one's opinion list to discourse. It has extremely limited value or appeal to this reader.
