What does the Bible have to say about the end times? Bible prophecy reveals much concerning the end of the age, but for most readers, these prophecies can seem vague, confusing, or downright strange. Beloved author Derek Prince assures readers concerned about what the future holds that the Bible's proven record of accuracy, extending over many centuries, validates its claim to predict future events with authority. The ""secret things"" may remain hidden from us, he says, but our responsibility is to study and act on the ""revealed things."" And the God who foretells the future is the one who will see us safely through. This biblical, thorough treatment of end-times prophecy from an internationally respected Bible teacher is positioned to become the definitive word on the last days, both for Derek Prince's loyal readers and for many new ones who will catch the vision of the glorious victory to come.
Derek Prince (1915-2003), was an International Bible teacher and founder of Derek Prince Ministries International, wrote more than fifty books. He was born in India of British parents. Educated as a scholar of Greek and Latin at Eton College and Cambridge University, England, he held a Fellowship in Ancient and Modern Philosophy at King’s College. He also studied Hebrew and Aramaic, at Cambridge University and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. His daily radio broadcast, Derek Prince Legacy Radio, still reaches listeners around the world.
"All of the prophecies throughout Scripture that have yet to occur have one central mission: to make us aware of the coming of the Lord as an imminent reality." (Derek Prince, Prophetic Guide to the End Times: Facing the Future Without Fear, Page 15)
The author does not believe that wars and rumours of wars, false christs, deception, the love of many growing cold, evil and wickedness, pestilences, signs in the heavens above and on the earth beneath, earthquakes, famines, or sorrows... are the sign of the end. He believes that when the Gospel is preached in the all the world, that this is the sign [singular] of the end. He teaches that the disciples asked Jesus this same question when He was on earth: "What will be the one sign of the end of the age?" (See Matthew 24:3-14). He says, "When we get to Matthew 24:14 we have the answer:'And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come.' When will the end come? When this Gospel of the Kingdom has been preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations...The Church is the only group of people who can bring about the closing sign of the age-the preaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom."
All these signs are indicators that Jesus is coming soon; however, "the sign of the end of this present world" is when all the world hears the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. We as believers have this task before us to take this Gospel into all the world as a witness to all nations. Then the end will come. Anyone who is a student of the Bible knows that when Jesus is telling His disciples to take the Gospel "to all the world" it does not mean that you have to book a flight to every nation. It means to take the Gospel into the grocery store, into your workplace, into your family gatherings, into all places that you find yourself in. Jesus was actually saying, "as you go" preach the gospel. That means wherever you find yourself, share the Gospel, as the Holy Spirit leads. The Holy Spirit has come upon you to be Christ's witnesses. As you preach the Gospel, the Lord will confirm His Word with signs, wonders and miracles following. He will work with you to confirm His Word is The Truth.
There is much more in this book that I cannot get into here, but it has many good insights into the end times and facing the future without fear.
I love Derek Prince to begin with and have read several of his books. I had to read this one for a college class and I can't begin to say how grateful I am that I read it. We can all agree that things are looking shaky these days, and this book gives us hope for facing the future. God has a plan and as always His plan for His children in an expected (good) end. I recommend for all Christians. I give it 5 stars.
Derek Prince always provides scholarly and inspirational materials . As a PASTOR of 40 years, I highly recommend this book for a concise overview of God’s plan for the future.
I always love Derek Prince's straight-forward approach and solid teaching. Once again, I learned much from him.
The focus of this book is not so much to give a blow-by-blow, in-depth timeline for how the last days will unfold, as it is to help believers understand that whatever lies before us, we can be overcomers. Being an overcomer does not mean we merely survive, hanging on by the skin of our teeth; it means we victoriously occupy and take territory for the Kingdom of God until Jesus comes.
Mr. Prince appears to have been of the post-Trib rapture mindset. Although my understanding leans more toward a pre-Trib rapture belief, I still found this book informative and encouraging.
How does this book not have more reviews and ratings on Amazon and GRs? Everything that Prince wrote and taught was pure gold. I wish I would have discovered him before I got all entangled in powerless churchianity. I am still working to unlearn so much of the religion I have been taught.
Derek really needs to read Matthew 24 Fulfilled by John L Bray, Paradise Restored and The Days of Vengeance both by David Chilton and The Book of Revelation Explained by Kevin Davis and then rewrite this book.
I really loved this book and learned much. Although I'm retired and was brought up in a Christian home and with religious parents, here in this book is lot's more to learn. It was a blessing to read this book
I really enjoyed this book. It seemed to put everything in place. I no longer feel the world is falling apart but that It is falling into place. God bless you and keep you safe 🙏
The book was written in the '80's and scary to know so many of what Derek Prince explained have happen after the book was written as in Matthew 24:9-12;That Christians will be hated, betrayed each other, hate one another, false prophets, lawlessness, etc.
