Triad

Rate this book
Alpha. Beta. Omega. The Triadic.

They were created by the sickest, most twisted mind of all the Sorracchi to be super-soldiers, mindless, emotionless, A-moral killing machines -- but something went wrong. Compassion, affection, and curiosity are born in the human psyche and if it is strong enough it cannot be denied. But, it can be punished. The Triadic were placed in stasis for nearly a decade until their "teacher" could figure out how to fix them and strip them of their human hearts.

Before the War Katrina Bauer had spent her life tucked away from the world, hiding her intelligence and her skills to avoid the seeking eyes of the enemy. Now in Alexandria, working with men like Victor, Michael Tanner, and an elite scientific team reporting directly to President Nicholas Tanner, she and her brother Karl have found purpose and a sort of family.

In the dead of night she is snatched away and now must find a way to teach three powerful, frightening men they no longer need to live as slaves. The leader, the soldier, and the balance. They are lynchpins to each other. As their personalities are allowed to emerge, one will grow to be a man Katrina no longer fears, but might even love.

I think this is my favorite of the Saga. Initially, I thought I wasn't going to like it because of my trust issues with the author giving us a moment of sweetness only to fling us immediately into another tragedy. This book is now my favorite! I've wanted to read half of this book out loud to anyone and everyone who will listen because this one seems to have more moments of...I don't know how to express it...the beauty that comes with growth & self reflection, & the poetry that comes with self-acceptance. The twists & turns. The expression & emphasis on more than just romantic love, but encompassing the many different types of love relationships. Seeing how interwoven the new characters in this series lives are with the characters of the previous series to form a most epic saga. The overall theme of the Phoenix Rising from the ashes shows up in big & small ways throughout the entire novel. The aspect of forgiveness freely given with grace & loving second chances... I kept slowing my reading down because I truly wanted to savor every word, absorb it ALL. Yes, I read for pleasure, but part of that pleasure is the gift of introspection & growth each book & each author gives through their own unique perspective, the words of each story woven together, blended into the most beautiful tapestry that I can carry with me on my own personal journey. This book is one wild carpet ride, so hang on tight. Don't blink either because you won't want to miss a single word. I hope you enjoy the world Gail Delaney has so carefully and cleverly crafted for the reader throughout the entire Saga as much as I have.

Where JANUS moved a little slow for a bit after the opening scene, as the necessary background setup was happening, TRIAD enters with a bang, and runs away with you! The cast of characters introduced in JANUS will continue to hold you spellbound, while the addition of new characters will leave you alternating between breathless with the uncertainty of their motives and status, and perched on the edge of your seat in anticipation of each character’s (both old and new) next move!

Definitely worth the read! You won’t want to miss this series… Get your copies of JANUS and TRIAD today, and start Phoenix Rising from the beginning!
