I absolutely LOVED this book. Being interested in Psychology, and being an artist, it was nice to read about case studies in famous artists, poets and musicians. It is a good feeling to be able to understand the psyche of what makes a creative person the person that they are. To attempt to understand their behavior and what may drive this behavior in their lives. Very necessary study.

Although the concepts and ideas are interesting and often on the mark, I can't help but think, "who cares?". Everyone has issues and the ability to create does not hinge upon some type of "madness" or mental illness. In all of the cases within this text the common factor is that the artist worked in spite of their struggles. Let's focus on the beauty they created that will be looked at for generations to come.
