Life sucks.

Gabe Harris has been clued into this fact for a long time now. In his mid-twenties, life has been nothing but low paying jobs, petty power-tripping bosses, and the worst roommates mankind has to offer. Bills, debt, and misery have haunted him for his entire adult life and, to make matters worse, it feels like his dream of being a writer is dead on arrival.

One fateful night, he decides to take control of his life and make his dream a reality. Diving into the strange world of online writing soon yields results, enough that he can move into his own place, even if it's a terrible studio apartment. As he finishes moving and prepares to pursue the life of a successful writer by any means necessary, the world throws something completely unexpected his way.

Ellen, a six foot five blonde goddess and former coworker, abruptly reenters his life as her own seemingly perfect existence is collapsing. When the two begin reconnecting, things start getting heated, and Gabe quickly learns that being a successful writer isn't the only thing he wants.

Hello and welcome to my website!

I am Misty Vixen (not my real name obviously), and I imagine that if you’re reading this, you want to know a bit more about me.

In the beginning (late 2014), I was an erotica author. I wrote about sex, specifically about human men banging hot inhuman women. Monster girls, alien ladies, paranormal babes. It was a lot of fun, but as the years went on, I realized that I was actually striving to be a harem author. This didn’t truly occur to me until late 2019-early 2020. Once the realization fully hit, I began doing research on what it meant to be a harem author. I’m kind of a slow learner, so it’s taken me a bit to figure it all out.

That being said, I’m now a harem author!

Just about everything I write nowadays is harem fiction: one man in loving, romantic, highly sexual relationships with several women. Nowadays, I tend to write more human on human stuff, but I still have a lot of non-human ladies in mind for the future, so if that’s your thing then stick around.

I’d say beyond writing harems, I tend to have themes that I always explore in my fiction, and they encompass things like trust, communication, respect, honesty, dealing with emotional problems in a mature way…basically I like writing about functional and healthy relationships. Not every relationship is perfect, but I don’t really do drama unless the story actually calls for it. In total honesty, I hate drama. I hate people lying to each other and I hate needless rom-com BS plots that could have been solved by two characters having a two minute conversation.

When it comes to media, I have a real soft spot for flawed gems. As long as they were created with heart and soul, I'm more than willing to overlook some crashes or tortured syntax or terrible VFX.

...which brings us to this book. Let's cover the bad. In no particular order:

* The cover art is...not great. Enough said.
* The characters occasionally go on impassioned left-ish (mostly anti-capitalist) rants. Now, I don't entirely disagree, and even if I did I don't think that the views of a character necessarily reflect the views of an author, or that you have to agree with the views of an author in order to enjoy a work. And I will say that the rants do fit the characters, their situation, and their backstories. Nonetheless, they're a bit jarring, and are one of the few areas where the characters don't feel entirely realistic.
* The central conceit that the initial plot hangs on is that . And while that's a thing that could happen, and there is an internal logic to it (), we're expected to believe the character goes through this journey over the course of like, a week. That feels optimistic.
* The writing could have used another editing pass; there's occasional typos (like a missing negation - "wanted" versus "did not want") and awkwardly phrased parentheticals.
* Over the course of the series the protagonist encounters a statistically unlikely number of .
* And while it may or may not be a con for any given reader, I will call out there's a *lot* of explicit sex.

On the other hand: If you want just....a bunch of really really well done romance and sex from a male point of view, this entire series is basically just...that. Do you like it when people who like each other apply clear communication? Do people being responsible and caring about consent make you feel hot and bothered? Do you like the idea of a protagonist who gets chicks not because they're hot or rich or strong or for implausible plot reasons, but because they're kind and trustworthy and emotionally available? Well boy do I have a book (and series) for you!

Again, this is a flawed gem at best. As mentioned above, it's not the most plausible story, the writing and dialogue could be better, etc. But...

...boy did I enjoy binge reading this series. If nothing I said above makes you feel like this is clearly not a book for you, I highly recommend it.

A good romance/ erotica book

Gabe has hit a low point in life, but is ready to turn over a new leaf and make the best of it. So when a former collegue in a very similar situation contacts him out of the blue and asks for hel. He is somewhat surprised. Especially when it actually is a super hot older woman who he has had a crush on for ages.... a new life and new opportunities await.

Our own way is almost somewhat of an odd book. Though there is romance, this is more a story of people who are attracted to each other and smoothly move into a relationship. A relationship that centered around honestly and a healthy dosis of sex. So expect a conversations about feelings, and plenty of spicy moments.

So overall this is quite a good book. You do notice bit of "author-appeal" moments. (Mainly the interest in Tall, Older and rather Buxom woman having the hots for a younger average looking guy.) But this gives the book more flavour an interest than anything ells.

Unexpectedly down to earth protagonists so well written.

This is hands down the most grounded and well communicating romantic couple intoxicated have read. Also some of THE hotest sex scenes. The writing all the way through was top quality. 👌 This is slice of life with 2 people who have hit rock bottom yet find in each other exactly what they have been missing all along. 10 out of 10

Solid story

I would say 4* book but 3.5 spice slot of long winded conversations talking about feelings that could of been shorter. But the visuals painted by words were epic. I also deducted points because I hate when an author implies the couple has a scene off book and doesn't tell about it. But all in all I will continue the series to find out more

(Audible.) I liked two general ideas about this book. First, the fantasy sex was great from a hetero male perspective. Second, all the sex was consensual--the way you hear it should be done, but rarely displayed in books and movies.

Loved it

Bit on the fence since I mainly read fantasy, but since I enjoyed RAW so much I thought it worth giving it a chance. And it really did deliver, I technically need to write some assignments, but this has me enthralled. Buying the rest.

Way to angsty, but real

So, no harem romance is going to be realistic, but this is as close as it gets. Talk about “found family”.

The characters are refugees from modern society, and it works.

For erotica this was surprisingly relatable, I even found myself thinking about things that were said. Hope the rest are just as good

Enjoyed it!

Well written and decent character development. The spicy scenes could be a bit longer but that’s personal preference really. Overall an enjoyable entry for the series.

A very good read, liked the characters and interactions... but some of the decisions made by the characters are "interesting" to say the least.
