As usual I received this book for free for the purposes of review; this time from the author directly. Despite this kindness I give my scrupulously honest opinion below.

In a nutshell and quite this is a very brief and very simple book about Dinosaurs. The content is appropriate for any age but only the very youngest readers will stick with this. The contents along pretty simple lines with a picture at the top of each page and a paragraph of text under it.

On the positive side, the book is very easy for young readers. Even if your child is new to the concept of Dinosaurs this book will make sense. It assumes nothing about the potential reader and begins at the very beginning.

To the negative side, the pictures in this book are very tiny. You can enlarge them on your Kindle by holding your finger over the photo for a second until a menu pops up allowing you to 'zoom' but sadly once you do this the photo just becomes blurry and suffers significantly. Lastly, the writing is reasonably professional though this volume particularly seems to be particularly rife with grammatical mistakes.

In summary, this is a good little book to have around but it isn't perfect. It'll certainly keep at least one child entertained for a few minutes while you cook dinner. All the books in this series, from what I've seen, are of almost identical quality so make your selection based on your favorite animal or scientific topic; you'll get the same basic premise no matter what. The series is very consistent.

Have you ever wondered about the dinosaurs who ruled the Earth so long ago? This book gives great examples of some of the dinosaurs who lived millions of years ago. It also has information about fossils in the first couple of pages and how the dinosaurs may have died in the last few pages. It is put in an easy to read format, and kids can learn a lot from it.

This is a good non-fiction book for independent readers. Ms Child’s writing style is kid-friendly as she explains things in an easy-to-understand way. I learned some things from this book too! Even though there is a lot of information contained in the book, it is put together well and is easy to read. The only thing I would change is the fact that there are little pictures – as in not enough, and they are too small. The pictures can be clicked on to open a new window (I read it on a Kindle Fire HD) where they are enlarged and you can then use the zoom feature to make them even bigger, but in my opinion larger pictures within the book would fit better with the high quality of Ms. Child’s writing. I think pictures are important in books meant for this age range. The cover is awesome though. The book is part of Ms. Child’s Animal Kingdom Series. I’ve read several of them and they all have the same great quality of writing and information. The other books are about sharks, snakes, horses and dolphins.

"Great Book for Children to Learn About Dinosaurs"

This is a very interesting study guide about dinosaurs. It's written with the intent of students and/or children to find answers about these prehistoric beasts. The author stimulates thought right in the beginning with a question: "What can be over 50 feet tall but is found in the ground?" This is a good indication how stimulating the information will be for children. How do we know dinosaurs really existed? Well, because their old skeletons and bones have been dug up from all over the world, as well as fossils, their footprints, locked into concrete-like sand that can still be found today. They may have had big feet, but their brains were small. Just look at the sketches in this guide and look how big the bodies are, topped off with little bitty heads. This is a great, fun learning guide. Check out the other books in this series created by Emma Child. They are so well written with photos and illustrations. I learn much from this series and enjoy reading them. You will, too.

This is the third book I've read from this Author, the first about Sharks, the second about snakes.

This time the facts are about my favourite creature - Dinosaurs - in such a way that readers of any age can easily understand.

As in the other books, the chapters are short enough not to get boring and the pictures are great (well, photos of live Dinos would be difficult!)

Also, as in the previous books, the unfamilair words and names are explained.

I look forward to reading and learning lots more from this author.

Dinosaurs: Fun Facts and Amazing Photos of Animals in Nature give young readers an excellent introduction to learn some basic facts about dinosaurs. The photos of fossils are very nice and the drawings of dinosaurs help the young reader picture the animals. The measurements used in the book could give a teacher a great lesson to combined math and science concepts in one lesson and allow students to use measuring devices to learn about the size of each type of dinosaurs.

What I like about this one is, while some fun and interesting facts about dinosaurs are delivered to the reader, there are also fun facts about how we've come to learn all that we have about dinosaurs, lending it some credibility. I was hoping this book would cover some of the lesser known dinos and it did not disappoint.

Great pictures included to make great visual aids.

Dinosaurs seem to fascinate all children and we never outgrow that obsession. Emma Child gives us a book that concentrates on the basics of what we know and talks about various types identified. And finally, discusses theories about how they died out.

This is one children will definitely like,

Contains some fun facts about some dinosaurs, quite readable, although not so systematic. Kinda too simple for me, but excellent for a child~ Really hope the book can be a little longer~~

You could say that I'm not too interested in dinosaurs because I AM one! When I was a child, I remember hearing and reading almost nothing about dinosaurs. They just weren't stylish then. I was so impressed when my much younger siblings were taught about them in school. It seemed so exotic. Of course, prehistoric creatures are mother's milk to today's children. Me, I prefer critters with fur.

However, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I especially liked the explanations of how scientists are piecing together information on the lives of creatures that ceased to exist long before we were around to observe them. I think it puts the concept of scientific research within the grasp of a young reader. I also appreciate that non-metric measurements were given in the text. Perhaps you young whipper-snappers can get a mental picture of how big 15 meters is, but I need it in feet.

I was struck by the fact that dinosaurs ruled not only the land, but the oceans and the skies, too. The Tylosaurus was a sea-dwelling dinosaur who ate fish and sea turtles. And the Peteinosaurus was a smallish (by dinosaur standards) flyer who ate mostly insects that got trapped in its wings! The fish, sea turtles, and insects got the last laugh since they're still around and the "terrible lizards" are long gone. I think most kids would love this book.

This book would have been greatly improved with an editor's revision. There are typos, the copy is clunky, and there are minimal details. The dinosaurs are "very tall" or "not very fast." This reads like a paper written by an elementary school child. It's annoying that the author wrote measurements using the empirical system (feet) but all of the imagery was in metric. Skip.
