Who is Sebastian Lock?

Sophia Pearce only has eyes for one thing; a partnership position at her prestigious Sydney law firm. But when a drunken bout of curiosity leads her somewhere forbidden, she meets Sebastian Lock, and in the blink of an eye, everything changes. Gorgeous, commanding, and radiating charm, he is exactly the sort of silver-tongued rake Sophia has sworn to avoid. Unfortunately, he doesn't care much for her promises.

Every instinct tells her to run, but the chemistry between them is as inescapable as gravity. Soon, he's opening her eyes to a whole new world of pleasures, pleasures she never thought she'd enjoy.

There's just one problem. Sebastian is more than he seems. Between the famous company he keeps and the almost paranoid secrecy of his employers, he's a puzzle Sophia can't quite solve. Their passion for one another consumes them, but as Sebastian's secrets begin to unravel and lives are thrown into jeopardy, Sophia must answer one simple question. What is she willing to risk for love?

All up, these three books are over 130,000 words, or about 500 pages. They contains erotic content and a dominant man who always gets what he wants in the bedroom. They are intended for readers aged 18 and over.

Maya Cross is writer who enjoys making people blush. Growing up with a mother who worked in a book store, she read a lot from a very young age, and soon enough picked up a pen of her own. Her previous work spans many genres including horror, science fiction, and fantasy, and she has now started this pen name as an outlet for her spicier thoughts (they were starting to overflow). She likes her heroes strong but mysterious, her encounters sizzling, and her characters true to life.

She believes in writing familiar narratives told with a twist, so most of her stories will feel comfortable, but hopefully a little unique. Whatever genre she's writing, finding a fascinating concept is the first, and most important step.

The Alpha Group is her first foray into erotic romance, and she absolutely loved writing it.

When she's not writing, she's playing tennis, trawling her home town of Sydney for new inspiration, and drinking too much coffee.

These books were so not what I expected them to be. They were way better! Definitely not the typical "billionaire meets sweet innocent girl" story. The heroine, Sophia, is an independent woman, a successful lawyer and feisty! I really really liked her.

And the hero of this story. He is soooooooooo swoon worthy!!!!
Even his name is perfect.........SEBASTIAN *sigh*

I simply liked this book. I did not love it, I just liked it. This was a three part story about Sebastian (Rich, Mysterious 'Dom') and Sophia (Lawyer, natural submissive experimenting in the BDSM world). Locked focused on how Sebastian and Sophia met and the beginnings of their sexual arrangement. The very short story ends with the standard angst ( ). Lockout deals with the unraveling of some of Sebastian's secrets and ends with a cliffhanger involving Sophia. At this point I was becoming detached from Sophia as I found her to be very childish. There was also another round of the standard angst (boring). Then we come to Unlocked where things picked up and yet they did not. At certain places the book seemed to drag where I was just hoping to get through it. All of the secret drama came right at the end and I did not care for the epilogue, which was short and did make me happy. Oh Sebastian, you caved again. Sophia's street cred went up in the third book. She came across as very strong and less childish.

BRAVO...Maya Cross can definitely write some smokin' bedroom, restaurant, movie sex scenes! Very creative and erotic. Overall, this had high potential but seemed like the third book was not connected with the first two. Just my opinion.

Why Not 5 Stars?
Sebastian - The worst 'Alpha' male / 'Dom' of all time. I mean he was weak, weak, weak!! He consistently caved to Sophia on everything. He easily broke all of his rules by telling her everything about the Alpha Group and anything else she wanted to know and do. He could not figure out who was after them, how to protect her. He was fooled and foiled throughout the book. There was nothing Alpha about him. As for him being a 'Dom'...are you kidding me? Restraining and spanking does not a Dom make. Weak, weak, weak!!!

Unlocked - All of the waiting for something to happen other than sex. I felt the pieces of the drama puzzle were non existent until the end of the story. There were very little clues as to who was the threat(s). It was mainly just Sebastian and Sophia having sex and working on their relationship. I felt that the suspenseful drama only came at the end and it was thrown at you all together. It felt very disconnected and rushed. And the threat...very disappointing. It did not make any sense and took away from the story when the threat was revealed.

Locked
Sophia Pearce steps into a very different kind of rabbit hole. This world she has entered takes on a hell of a ride. Rich men are not new to her, but there is something to this man that has her body doing things she dare not dream of. Sebastian Lock wants to open her up to all he has to offer her an more.

Waiting for the next installment from Maya Cross. She has given me a new adventure in the beauty of the down under.

Locked Out
Sophia begins to break down Sebastian walls, but all she learns leads to more questions without answers. Once she stumbles across answers things take big turn that she may live to regret.

Holy shit, what has this man gotten Sophia into. Maya Cross has be hanging on to this series wanting to reach the final conclusion.

UnLocked
They say that the heart can lead you to dangerous places. There is no one that knows this better than Sophia Pearce. She wakes to a world that has become much more dangerous than it was when she woke the day before. She finally gets the truth of what and who the man she loves is all about. Will this information be worth her life?

Maya Cross has most certainly given me an unexpected ending. Earlier hints lead one to believe something different would be the outcome. She turns the tables and gives a different option.

I read that this series is a cross between 50 Shades and Crossfire. Not even close but it was still a fairly good read. The 1st book was the best, but by book three, it was a little harder to believe.

I don't want to divulge any secrets, but Sebastian didn't act like a millionaire, and the whole premise of the Alpha Group was a little hard to believe. The best part of the 3rd book was the twist at the end.

There were parts of this series that were sexy, but the author made promises that she and Sebastian didn't keep in that area. The chemistry was good but not great.

All-in-all, paying only $3.99 for three books wasn't a bad deal, but I'm not sure I'd read this author again. I'd try another freebie but not pay for it.

Unbelievable

Unbelievable

I got book 1 from my Free books app for KINDLE and started to read Sophia and Sebastian's story. Needless to say before I was even done with the book I bought the box set. I didn't want to get stuck somewhere without the next book. This book has love , Hotter than Hot sex, action, kidnapping, men with guns, and more passionate sex with one hot guy. plus book 3 is written with Sophia and Sebastian's point of view which is fantastic. Maya did a fantastic job writing this story about a girl who was curious enough to go threw a door to meet the man of her dreams. And poor Sebastian didn't know what hit him when he meets this strong no holds barred woman. Enjoy!

Career-oriented attorney Sophia Pearce is out with friends (Ruth and Lou. On their last stop at a bar, her curiosity gets the best of her when she sneaks into a private party being held in the back room. There she meets the mysterious venture capitalist Sabastian Lock and the chemistry is undeniable. I loved the banter between Sophia and Sebastian and their relationship. Secrets are being kept with Sebastian as a member of The Alpha Group, which is a secret global organization that comes under siege from someone within their organization. This s a great series with strong characters, suspense, and spicy romance.

I enjoyed these books more than I thought I would: perhaps because Sophia was both stronger and more likeable than I anticipated, while Sebastian was a "caring" Alpha male. Both personalities were multi-dimensional, and their interactions were entertaining to say the least!
Book One set the pace, and also ensnared my "reader's" attention. While the second book was also good, the pace picked up with Book Three. The last book showed the author's flare for the dramatic as well as her ability to add a little mystery and espionage to her romance.
The only lament I have is missing the epilogue on the author's site - would have enjoyed knowing the final fate of these characters!

James Bond meets erotic fantasy is the perfect combo for this book. Love how the author uses both POV in the 3rd book to reveal the scenes better. Took me by surprise as well at how both characters were set up;especially Sophia. Like I stated before I love how she could hold her own, she stuck to her gut, she wasn't naive and she could bit back if she needed to. A very good combination of erotic meets suspense.

...What I didn't like however was how short the books were, since it was all three combined into one book. Maybe it was me but in the 1st book I felt like it was alot missing knowing it wasn't....

but overall a good read.

It took me a while to finish this one, not only because what little time I had.
But they just couldn't really pull me in.. And I'm not a quitter so I always finish even
if I don't really love it. Just to give the author a chance sometimes it just takes a bit of time
to get drawn to a book. But it did'nt happen.
Don't get me wrong the story was okay and it was a very steamy read at times.

I like my men alpha and a bit bossy and possessive and Sebastian had that but not much.
So don't take my review as do not read. Take it as it wasn't meant for me but maybe you'll love it.

I still can't believe this series got a lower rating then I would expect. This book I thought had it all. If you like angst, action, a sexy mysterious guy and ROMANCE then you'll love this book. I felt like this wasn't your typical romance. I loved both main characters too. The girl was not a pussy (mind my language) which is always a plus in my book lol!

DO NOT let the 3.8 rating throw you off, because on this site I know I always look for the 4.2 stars or more. This book was definetly one of my all time favorite series, I still am baffled seeing its ratings.

The Alpha Group Collection was OK. It was recommended to me because I liked 50 Shades, and yes...it had it's steamy moments (a lot of them). Yes there was a plot in there as well, but it was incredibly predictable and filled with cliche-type phraseology. The first book was the worst as far as it sounding like an old, bad detective story (without the mystery...that does come later).

So if you're desperate for a book that won't mentally challenge you and has quite a bit of sex, then perhaps this book is for you. The storyline is much better developed (and better in general) in 50 Shades.

I just could not connect with the story

A strong her; Sophia and a strong him; Sebastian but the story itself just seemed like an overview. I found Sebastian to be more likeable, more vulnerable than Sophia and I definitely wanted to get to know him better. Perhaps it was the career emphasis made to give these characters importance, but to me it just made no magic. The hot sex tried to tie them together and the passion was there, just not enough to overcome the story shortcomings.

A slight miss, but the author does have potential. And I did love the Australian location!

I really enjoyed the first book and the second was ok and I found the 3rd book left me feeling a little let down. I don't want to give anything away..so I like the twist in the story, but for some reason..I felt the connection between the Sebastian and Sophia wasn't as strong. I think maybe book 3 could have been a longer book. It left me feeling like it could have been so much more suspenseful. I guess I just wanted more.

I was hesitant to read this series but I liked it! It had the romance, sex, mystery, and some dominance but not overly excessive ! I can feel Sophia stress at work and her feelings of Sebastian! There was a bit of humor and I have to admit I liked Joe ( Sebastian driver). The short conversations between him and Sebastian and him and Sophia made me smile! Overall, I liked the series, and it was this authors first erotic series! I hope she comes out with more like it in the future .

An Amazing series, My expectation came in sort of low, I was expecting a typical romance series where the guy likes BSDM and the girl falls for him. But this book had so much more to it then I assumed, I don't want to give anything away but this book has more mystery to it then you would think and you keep trying to guess what is going on. I loved this series and love Sebastian and Sophia. Must read for those looking for a cute romance/mystery/action.

Wow. She's a strong woman, no weakness about this character so that she's falling at his feet, no, she's strong. Can see from the start that he's not quite as he seems but we are only given titbits of information to help us work it out. I had some ideas in my head but I was far from right. This book has just the right amount of steamy sex, lust and exciting plot which keeps you guessing until the final moments. The culprits surprised me completely.

I loved the first two books. I got the hint that something else was up w Sebastian but I'm totally not into the direction the 3rd book is going. While The 3rd book wasn't my favorite the author did a good job, I didn't see any of that coming. Cuz really, who would have thought? I sorta hate how Sophia lets her work place walk all over her- aside from that- I love her. Really liked their dynamic. And the writing is good.

This was a really good set of books to read. I expected for Sebastin to be a government spy or something like that but not a member of a secret organization. It was a slight twist for me. I really liked that Sophia wasn't an idiot and didn't just scream in the face of danger. She was willing to go all in for her Love.

I LOVED this story!! It was so good that I could not put it down. Sebastian is so intriguing and the romantic under current between him and Sophia just adds to the excitement!! I couldn't read it fast enough! The whole story is so exciting! I loved it! I hated to see it end! I highly recommend this!!

Ms. Cross lost me with the 2000 years conspiracy. I didn't hate, I didn't love it until we got to the Ancient Greeks 'twist'. I could not stop wondering just what the Alpha Group did when the Romans took Greece because slaves have power, right? I found the whole third book to be difficult to read because I could not suspend my disbelief.

Book 1 in this trilogy is definitely the best. The other 2 become somewhat drawn out and boring. This is an example of where a prolonged trilogy could have been a great stand-alone novel. I would give book 1 4-stars & books 2 and 3 each 3,5-stars.

Really liked book 1 & 2, but book 3 felt slow sometimes and the ending felt rushed to me and I didn't really get the whole point of what the Alphas were exactly about. Having said that, I still think Sebastian is definitely a smokin hot alpha.

Loved this book. The character building was good and it had a decent plot. I enjoyed the intimate scenes. However, I feel that the "drama" scenes were well done if not a little predictable. Overall, a great read that I highly recommend.

I enjoyed reading this series so much! I loved that Sophia was such a strong female character and the connection her and Sebastian shared is definitely one for the books (pun intended). I recommend you stop what you're currently reading and start these!
