This is a PG-13 version of the original novel, with minimal sexual content, some adult situations, language and violence.
When author Torie Mills moved to tiny Fremont, Iowa, she found the love of her life and the place where she finally felt she belonged. Five generations of Dave Cameron’s family had inhabited the large idyllic Victorian house he and Torie now called home. They settled in, started a family and seemed to be living the perfect fairytale ending.
Fast forward two years. The Cameron family, including little one-year-old Rose, have been chased from their home by the time travels they believed they had left behind. Quiet Mahaska County has become a Mecca for fans of the psychological thriller Where Evil Lived, which Torie wrote concerning the 1959 mass murder of her Mills cousins. It was just meant to be a way to help Dave heal and put it behind him for good. Now it had taken on a life of its own.
While Torie searches desperately for the answers that will fix her fractured family and allow them the happily ever after they deserve, Dave struggles to hold on to his sanity and keep a secret from her that will test him to the limits of his endurance as he comes to terms with the time travel gift that neither he, Torie nor their child will be able to resist or control.
Writing had always been what I wanted to do with my life until life got in the way. Throughout the years of marriage and raising my two daughters though, eit was forever my goal, to simply write stories.
My first novel Love's Vengeance was written in the classic bodice ripping style of Kathleen E. Woodiwiss or Joanna Lindsey. I even had the opportunity to speak with Ms. Lindsey about my writing one time on the Larry King show!
My 2nd novel Out of the Past which is the first in my ongoing time travel romance series, was a 2nd place finisher of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards which is judged by professional critics of Publisher's Weekly.
My entire Heritage Romance series is now available
Book 1 Out of the Past Book 2 Into the Future Book 3 Forevermore Book 4 Enduring Gift will be published in autumn of 2017
Let me tell you that Dave is a well written character. Every girl needs a man who plans little surprises for her like Dave does for Torie. While reading this book I fell in love with Dave page after page. He made me look at my husband and just shake my head. Anyway back to the book.
The cover of the book shows a rustic Victorian house with a couple in the top corner. The house is a green color and I feel that if it were a different shade it wouldn’t clash so much with the lawn. I feel like there is too much green on the cover.
Summary of the book: This book takes place after Dave and Torie get married and have moved out of the old house. Things start of pretty slow but start to pick up a little after half way through the book. The title of the book is Into the Future and I thought that Torie and Dave were going to warp into the future. This did not happen; they still warped into the past. Last time the warps were happy times, except for the one at the end, but this time the warps are set in the tragedies of the past. It was sad to read about some many bad things happening in their families.
I thought the book was ok but didn’t feel like I got into the story until around the last couple chapters. I would recommend this book for adults and you do need to read the first book before you read part 2. The author does mention that there is a family history of warping and that at the end of the book someone knows all about it. I guess you need to read the third book to get all the answers.
Dana Roquet has captured my heart with the Heritage Time Travel Romance Series. I was a bit skeptical with the first book, Out of the Past, but with Into the Future, I found myself completely intrigued.
Roquet offers a very sweet romance with Torrie and Dave, with some very interesting problems to overcome. I felt more connected to the characters in this book than I did the first book. I also enjoyed the story quite a bit. I love time travel, and am fascinated by the possibility of visiting various times other than my own. If you have a similar interest, I suggest you pick up this series. I believe you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was.
Perhaps but not quite as good as the first but still engaging. Torie and Dave have a young daughter. Their warping puts her at risk as neither can wake on their own, effectively leaving Rose unattended. Their solution is to live in separate residences but this does not give them the control they need. Dave still regularly warps and his time travels are becoming increasingly dark.
Things started of pretty slow but start to pick up a little after half way through the book. I thought the book was ok.. sad about all time travels full of bad.. now their 1 year old is doing it too... you do need to read the first book before you read part 2... cant wait for book 3 to come out see what happens....
