A great mixture of faith, love, humor, and honesty in relationships. The story within the story approach kept me turning the pages to complete one novella to get to t he next. Very well done! Loved that "Father Ted" shows up since I had already become acquainted with him in the Elmo Jenkins series by McMillian Moody."
Born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma, Diane Hale Moody is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. She lives with her husband Ken in the rolling hills just outside of Nashville. They are the proud parents of two grown and extraordinary children, Hannah and Ben.
Just after moving to Tennessee in 1999, Diane felt the tug of a long-neglected passion to write again. Since then, she's written a column for her local newspaper, feature articles for various magazines and curriculum, and several novels with a dozen more stories eagerly vying for her attention.
When she's not reading or writing, Diane enjoys an eclectic taste in music and movies, great coffee, the company of good friends, and the adoration of a peculiar little pooch named Darby.
I was about half way through the second novella (which is about a family losing their home to a fire) when there was an actual explosion in my bedroom. (An item with a rechargeable battery blew up). Thankfully there was no house fire as a result. After my husband and I spent an hour or so cleaning up after the explosion, I had no desire to finish this book. I wasn’t enamored with the audiobook narrator, but I may try to finish this book some other time if I can put up with her.
I liked that the Novellas were all linked together within an overarching story. Each novella focused on a story surrounding a unique teacup. Each story got better and better! I wasnt sure what to expect going into this book, but I'm glad I finally picked it up! Other readers could probably fly through it faster than I did -- so make space on your TBR for it!
So inspiring! Each teacup has its own story, even those in our own homes. How I miss the tea parties with my own Mom and sisters! Those teacups still hold honored places in my own hutch after all these hears.
This was an excellent series of books. Diane is a great author. I have enjoyed every book of hers that I have read. They are clean Christian reading with mystery too. Looking forward to reading my next one.
Just when she thought she was getting into the relationship she had been dreaming of, life took a turn. But what a story. I really enjoyed reading what happened and the similarities it had with a story from her past.
I really enjoyed reading these novellas . Starting to read these during the Christmas holiday was just wonderful ; finishing now -just before spring- is perfect timing , I think . I would like to read the author's 2 books that take place in Chicago (where I used to live ), just before WWII, and I have always wanted to visit Europe - especially Holland !
I have read the first story it was nice but not great as this was on a trial i won't finish the series i like the idea but the first story didn't really grab you it was short on story it felt like one the those stupid rom-com films where it all way too busy
You had Maddy who thought she knew her friend's mind & pushed her views of a possible date on to her so the guy she been talking to online, Maddy just said he was a Nerd ect i felt that anyone would have told her to butt out
So am not going to read the rest of the books as not sure if i want to plus the trial will finish so will lose them anyway
These stories touched my heart! I collect teacups and teapots I find in off the beaten track antique stores. These wonderful novellas, each written around a particular teacup and saucer, are made all the more inviting by the faith base that is also written into the stories. These are a heartwarming and touching read, filled with characters you will love to get to know.
These stories are wonderful. They are a complete story in each novella but the whole is great. I especially like how the last story was Lucy and Mark's. It was a nice surprise to get the rest of their story. I would recommend this book to every reader of any age. Wonderful thread through the series of faith.
I liked these stories very much. I enjoyed the characters and how she tied the stories together with Lucy and Mark. I am glad that I read the collection rather than one story at a time. I will read more books by Diane Moody.
