THIS IS NOT A CLIFFHANGER

Trevor Mayson had his life planned out - make the family business successful and play the field for a few more years before eventually settling down. Then he sees her. After Trevor painfully rejects her, Liz finally starts to move on, but Trevor is finding it difficult to truly let her go. It seems the more he tries to stay away, the more intense his feelings for her become. Like a stretched rubber band, he can only take so much before snapping.

Liz Hayes is done waiting for Trevor and isn't interested in getting her heart broken by him again, but Trevor is making it difficult for her to forget him when he shoves his way back into her life.

2.5 stars!

It sucks to be in the minority again but hey, it's been known to happen.

I was so excited to read this seeing that a lot of people were gushing about it and giving it five stars. That and I got sucked in by the blurb. So it pains me to say it but I was wrong. I did not enjoy this at all. I wish I did.

It had all the right ingredients; a gorgeous, possessive, alpha male and a sweet and funny female lead. But then 7% in, I started noticing something. The characters are just repeating things over and over again. I couldn't find anything interesting about these characters. They were all cliched and truthfully, one-dimensional. I just couldn't get past that.

Halfway in, I was so bored and rolled my eyes so much, I was ready to call it quits but I trudged on, hoping things will get better. Sadly, it didn't get.

The lack of plot bothered me, too. Everything was just all over the place and so random.

But I think, my overall problem with this book is the lack of depth, character-wise and plot-wise. It was just too random, too one-dimensional for me. :(

Don't let my review discourage you though because I'm definitely one of the few who didn't like this. A lot of my GR buddies fell in love with Trevor's story. Who knows you might like this better than I did.

Trevor Mayson... I love a good alpha male/reformed man whore!

We met Trevor Mayson (Ash’s brother) and Liz Hayes (November’s friend) from Until November. There is something there, but when never quite fins out what happened between them.... until now.
“I’m going to be your best friend.”

Trevor screwed up with Liz. He knows it, and is trying to fix it. He can’t get the girl out of his head. So, he does the only thing he can think of. He tries to become her best friend while making his play for her.

 photo b2987ec2-05dd-4521-a7cc-8bee97e0695c_zpsbaa5be16.jpg

Now that Liz and Trevor are friends, he just has to find away to go about getting her to forgive him and give him another shot with him.
“I know I fucked up, but i want you to give me a chance. If this doesn’t work out, you don’t ever have to see me again. But try for me.”

The Mayson brothers are notoriously ladies men. But just like their father, when they find that one woman, everything changes. They may move fast, but they know what they want. When they find her, they just know deep down that it’s a forever kind of love and they won’t let anything or anyone stand in their way.

 photo fd4ed0b1-9c56-4e8a-ba0c-04debaf63e0d_zps11114cae.jpg

Now to the main characters- Liz appears all sweet and shy, but I loved that she had a backbone. She was much stronger than she looked! And then there is Trevor. Trevor is all kinds of sexy, bossy, and possessive. Plus, he is hilarious! Liz was pretty funny herself. My favorite line of the book:

“What am I supposed to do?”

“I don’t know. You’re the one with the penis, and the one who likes to boss everyone around all the time; I’m sure you can figure it out.”

It was great to catch up with the other Mayson brothers and characters.

This is a fun and sexy series that always has just the right amount of drama without putting it over the top. I am very much looking forward to Cash’s book, especially after that sneak peek we got! I’m thinking it’s going to be pretty intense, but also pretty great :D

“I’m the lucky one. I didn’t think that I would ever want someone to have the kind of power over me that you hold. I know my future is going to be amazing because you’re going to be by my side; and with you, everything is better.”

BEST DAY EVER..JUST GOT OUR ARC!! WOO MUTHA F-N HOO

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS TREVOR

[image error] photo myreview1_zpsabe5ed45.png

Hello..my name is Dawn and I am addicted to the Mayson brothers. I don’t care which one..I love them all! I don’t want a remedy, I am happy reading about anything and everything Mayson and hope they have lots of children and cousins so that I can continue my addiction. I haven’t been so impatient about a book and giddy for it’s release in a long time and I am so happy that it delivered!

[image error] photo tumblr_inline_mqmn8grqYL1qz4rgp_zps1ed447b4.gif

With that confession out of the way..let me tell you Aurora Rose Reynolds can write. She can weave a perfect story with the alpha male being his loyal, possessive, and growling self. In otherwords..perfection! When I am reading her books, time stands still and it doesn’t seem like 3 hours have passed and I am sadly done with the story.

[image error] photo 1484211_276634022484167_1174194828_n_zps0bd3633e.jpg

I fell in love with my first Mayson his name was Asher, I wouldn’t say he was replaced by Trevor but he wasn’t compared to him either. Trevor was similar in some ways but his own man in all the aspects that count. The Mayson men have known that they live their life alone and without strings attached, UNTIL “it” happens..the BOOM that seals the fate of the future for both parties involved.

[image error] photo a3490123cb327c90db0165a536fbb8b0_zps10153a8a.jpg

Now Liz was no shrinking violet, another thing I appreciate with Ms. Reynolds stories, she not only writes a killer alpha but a strong and independent woman. Liz has run into hard times and has to sacrifice part of herself to make ends meet. Trevor has tried to stay away from Liz thinking that she is too innocent and pure to put up with his whore ways. But time after time Trevor is reminded that she is his “boom” and a future without her is not something he wants to live.

[image error] photo 534b8b707d3ff312d7d0b6819e1a3103_zps7e346af4.jpg

I loved this book. From Trevor’s possessive “you are mine” attitude to his “I will have babies with you” mentality. Knowing what you want and going after it with reckless abandonment..it is the way every person wants and deserves to be loved!

Stalking has begun with little small excerpt from the next book..I am coming after ya Ms. Reynolds..warning warning!

Sometimes it's nice to just get lost in a book....to fall in love with a pussy-whipped possessive alpha male. And that's what I did....I fell in love with Trevor.

Was Trevor OTT--> YES
Was Trevor a bit cheesy-->YES
Was Trevor an unreasonable caveman at times-->YES
Was Trevor HOT-->

Would I have Trevor's babies-->

Trevor is Ash's brother. We met Ash and the Mayson brother's in Until November...we also met Liz, the heroine (though I barely remember which one she was). All of the Mayson brother's are all

when it comes to their women. They are possessive. They are cavemen. They fall hard and they love hard. It's really kind of sweet and cute. I mean who wouldn't want someone to feel that way about them??

What I love about this series is there isn't any dumb drama...and by that I mean cheating, hooking up, high school BS. The drama that is present is usually centered around an outside source and is more threatening in nature--if that makes sense. Similar to Until November.

In fact, both books had fairly similar plots and obviously the brothers are similar in their behavior towards their women.

This series for me is pure entertainment...pure smut....and ME LIKEY!!!

PS--The editing was MUCH better in this book so thank you for that!!!

I think I should point out that I was so in love with Asher from book 1 that Trevor just couldn't compete. Part of the problem is I wasn't happy that he rejected Liz at first or the reasons why he rejected her. Then he proceeded to keep sleeping around with other women. Behavior like that just isn't my preference in a hero. I like the alpha males to know what they want and go for it. I was glad the author got these two together fairly early in the book and that part wasn't dragged out. Also, once Trevor did man up, he became that alpha male that stormed his way into Liz's life. I also like that Liz made Trevor work for it like he should. This was good and I did enjoy it despite the few dislikes I mentioned.

I feel bad because a lot of people loved this book, but I didn't like this one as much as the first one...I felt like there was no real plot? I felt like it kept circling around and around with not much really happening.

Also, this was mentioned in another review, but the characters repeated themselves a lot - like the exact same sentence repeated within less than a paragraph. It threw me off. Also, there were times where there was time progression, but nothing to indicate such time progression.

I'm not sure if I liked where Cash's story is going, but we will see, I will probably still read it.

If you remember Liz, you know that she is November’s closest friend. And you definitely have to remember Trevor, Asher’s brother, because let’s face: it’s impossible to forget these brothers. This is their book.
For some time, while November and Asher where still figure things out, they became friends. Until the night Trevor’s niece was born and everything changed between them. Due to a misunderstanding and Trevor’s fear of his own feelings, he took a step back, hurting them both. But then he soon realizes what he’s been missing and decides he wants to Liz back. And for good.

description

But Liz was hurt and her trust and her love were not something she was ready to give willingly. And now Trevor has the biggest challenge of his life: Getting the woman of his life back, after he was the one that sent her away the first time.

description

Rating: 4,5 Stars.
Storyline: Well, if you like an easy and quick romance with an extremely hot alpha-male and a sweet and romantic background, you’re going to love this. And if you are one of those persons who love to read about dog-characters in the books (guilty!), you are seriously going to love this. I truly like how Mrs. Reynolds always have a dog in her stories. (I’m a dog person, what can I say?)
Writing Style: First person, dual POV. Seriously addictive writing, I couldn’t put this down.
Character Development: Liz were pretty good, although sometimes I just wanted to beat my kindle in her head because she was so damn stubborn. But there was something that we all have to love about her:

“As usual, when she has her Kindle in her hand, the world could crumble around her and she wouldn't have a clue.” (Yes, she is all of us!)

And Trevor… oh Trevor! What can I say about a completely perfect alpha-male that goes after what he wants? Yes, we just love them.
The supportive characters were amazing and I just can’t wait to read Cash’s story!
Steam: Hot.

Trevor Mayson is just like all of the other Mayson brothers, (well except for Asher, now, because he is with November) he is known for his man slut ways. He has a successful business with his brothers, and any woman he wants any time. That is until he meets Liz. After meeting in Until November, Trevor has been unable to get her out of his mind. And when they share one passionate moment that almost led to sex. He stays away from her because he thinks she is a virgin, therefore, too innocent for him to ruin. But then his inner caveman comes out. He doesn't want any man near her, so he decides to finally claim her as his.

I liked Trevor, especially when I met him in the first book. In his own book, he proves to be a crazy alpha just like his brother. Trevor was just so yummy when he was acting so loving, and possessive. But I won't lie, there were times where I felt he was tad bit overwhelming. Still, for the most part, he was uber sexy.

Liz Hayes is trying to forget and move from Trevor, after sharing an embarrasing night with him. But he doesn't seem to let her move on, since he scares off any potential men she meets. Soon, she finds herself in a relationship with Trevor without even seemingly accepting. Trevor causes her to lose her senses, she just can't resist him no matter how much. Liz later doesn't care, she wants to be with him, so she is going to try. She is finally going to be happy.

Liz was an awesome female character. She seemed meek, quiet, and reserved, but she was not like that at all. She had fire in her that made her strong, independent, and able to stand up for herself. I loved it! But like I said, Trevor could be a bit overwhelming, and during these moments I found Liz couldn't really stand up to him when I really wanted her to. And then there were moments when he was so darn sweet that I totally understood why Liz would melt completely.

This book was high in steam, which I loved. It was very well done. The only thing that I didn't like about this book, was that it wasn't as engaging for me as Until November. And again, like in the first book, the author would write one scene and right away move on to the next without letting the reader know that time had passed or the location had changed.

What I loved were all the characters. I had missed Asher and loved seeing a few glimpses of him and his family throughout the book. There were many funny moments in the book. And near the end, it started to get a lot more interesting. I loved the way Trevor was trying to fix things with Liz after screwing up. Trevor was a sexy beast, even if he was over the top at times, still Loved him. There was a bit of angst, but nothing too crazy. Overall, it was a good sweet and HOT read. Now I can't wait for Cash's book!!

10 Sweet, Sexy and Sizzling Stars

10 Scalding Hearts for Heat

Until Trevor filled a big gap in my reading funk. I have really wanted another book with a perfect alpha. Trevor is sexy, loyal, possessive, and protective. He's bossy in the best way and knew what Liz needed even when she didn't.

“You came all the way out here to check on me?”
He shrugs, looking a little uncomfortable. “It’s what friends do; I'm going to be your best friend.”

His take charge ways were over the top but in all the best ways. I devoured this book and at the same time savored it. I'd re-read passages just to feel them again.

He then stops, puts it in park, unclicks my seatbelt, grabs the waist of my jeans, pulls me into the middle of the cab of the truck, pulls the seatbelt around me, puts the truck back in reverse, and finishes backing us out of the space, and out the parking lot.
“If it was bothering you so much, you could have asked me to sit in the middle, instead of manhandling me.”
“I didn’t know you sitting over there bothered me, until you were sitting over there,” he says with a shrug.
I shake my head, knowing there is no point in arguing.

This type of story is what keeps me reading Romance. I want a sexy hero and heroine with an alpha that is dominant but sweet, bossy but respectful and loyal to a fault. I want my Heroes to never waver. Once Trevor knew what he wanted he didn't doubt it for one second.

I love those types of Heroes. Mrs. Reynolds has a knack for writing Sizzling sex scenes that will have you panting. Trevor brought out the dirty girl in Liz and she loved it.

Ok Officially I give the stamp of Perfect Alpha

I want more of these characters. I want Kai's book, but of course I want Cash now! Those boys are the epitome of Alpha . Nobody touches what is theirs and once they get that "boom" ..thier girl better watch out.

I'm so totally fangirling over these books that I'm feeling some stalker tendencies starting to develop. I want to scream "write faster!!!". Thank you so much Crystal for letting us have this advance copy! You made my month!

Trevor the Manwhore and Liz the Silent Lioness.

A good insta-love storyline with some light BDSM. Though I still have some discrepancies like the heavy make out scene between Trevor and Liz where Liz blurted out “never”, which in Trevor’s perspective, she’s a virgin. Although she’s not, this is where the “love me, hate me” plot runs. A miscommunication, actually. But can’t blame them if they’re in the middle of a heavy make out.

Overall, characters and plot were written better compared to first book. Good teaser for book three too.

Ladies we have another man-whore Mayson brother to fall into complete book lust with.

Let’s meet Trevor Mayson.

The boy you makes your heart…

And gives you that feeling, you know the one…

Trevor and Liz grew close during November’s pregnancy, but one misunderstanding had Trevor pushing Liz away. But even as he tries to distance himself from her, he can’t seem to stay away. When he realizes the mistake he’s made he is not going to take no for an answer. Liz is his. But his rejection hurt Liz far more than he expected and she’s putting a fight (well as much as a fight as you can with a Mayson boy).

When Trevor realizes that he misunderstood Liz, he’s decided that she’s his one, his boom. Liz has had not had the easiest of lives, losing her dad at a young age, growing up with an absent mother who was lost in her grief and then having her brother do the unthinkable. Her trust and faith has been broken too many times to count, so trusting Trevor after the way he treated her was no easy feat. But she soon learns that when in the arms of Trevor, with his hands in your hair and his mouth on yours; there is just no way to say no.

I adored this book so much and have fallen completely in love with this series. These boys are just so damn perfect. We have the same caveman behavior pouring out of Trevor and even though Liz tries to put up a good fight, it’s completely useless. Every time he told her that he was going to be her ‘best friend’ I had a smile on my face. He wasn't going to take no for an answer when it came to getting her forgiveness and claiming what he knew was already his.

What I felt set Trevor apart was that he had already seen Asher go through getting the girl, he already knew what it was like to be without Liz, so there was zero time to waste. It was everything about a Hero that I love. Completely over the top alpha male that doesn't apologize. This story also had a few thrown twists and set up the next book, Until Lilly perfectly.

Mrs. Reynolds has a hot one on her hands. This series so far has been one of my favorite reads of the year. These boys hit all the right spots, leaving you wanting so much more. After the shit with Cash in this one, I can only pray that the story is near complete because I don’t think I can patiently wait for his story.

I cannot stand heros who screw around with other females when the heroine is already around plus doing it IN FRONT of her. Sleazebag jerk who spends a year jumping into woman after woman's bed and then FINALLY decides he's going after the heroine, after he gets his fill of other women.

Pathetic weak heroine just accepts him with almost zero fight. PLEASSEEEE. After he hurts her for the most STUPID reason, then fools around with women allover the place and then finally,a LONG time later decides to go after the heroine. All the while making she that she stays "pristine & pure" by blocking all men from her & sometimes using the woman he's currently screwing to block the man. Seriously???? I cannot stand weak heroines who just accept these losers. Get a damn backbone woman & REJECT the loser.

Skimmed a lot.
Just a lot of sadness.
I’m Italian, we’re very traditional here, conservative and still a bit sexist.
But nothing could compare to what I keep reading from these American authors.
I’ve always thought snd somehow envied that very free, very equal and very non sexist American way of life, where women have the same right to behave like men, as in their sexuality and in what they want.
But nothing of it can be found in romances.
There’s only sexism, double standard and manwhores disguised as alpha men.
Alpha man doesn’t mean overbearing, conceited, controlling and manwhore.
It means a man who’s so strong and sure of himself that other people follow him instinctively and naturally.
It means someone who doesn’t have to prove he’s a man and shag everyone with a hole, because he is all man.
And women, they should be self assured, confident, sure of what they want and proud of their sexuality and their desires, not scary passive doormats without pride that a man rule them and scare away all the men while they shag other women.
I hated them both.
The hero is disgusting, the heroine is weak and a disgrace for all women, the story is appalling.
I was nauseated.
I’m sorry, I just can’t. It’s like being thrown back into the middle age when women were burned as witches. Please, can it.

I hated the hero.
I. HATED. THE HERO. SO. FREACKING. MUCH!!!!!!!

I've read some of the other books in the series and, while silly, have been fun. I bought into the H's over-protective alpha tendencies and adoration of the heroine. Not here though.

Trevor could give some of his brothers under the skin, theGreeks, Italian, Spanish, Sicilian alpha romeros of HarleyLand, lessons on how to be an arrogant pushy ass-hat.

He doesn't want to have sex with the h 'cause she's a virgin. Then he finds out she's not a virgin so it's okay. He's pushy and bossy, not OTT alpha and in love. Creep. She's not much better because she actually falls in love with the jackass.

However, and it's a big one, there is a scene towards the middle where the evil OW gets her comeuppance in such an epic fashion it deserves its own star. EPIC as in Homerian epic with gods and goddesses cheering the h on.

Then we're back to everyone railroading the h including his and her mother and fail....

It was ok but what I did not get was she slept with one guy and that was it. If she had not then he would never have had sex with her or married her!? What? Because if she has been a virgin then it's hell to the no! The hero was having none of that! Wow it's a good thing all men are not like that or else the whole world population would be extinct!!! I don't think it's a bad book just meh for me and the sex was hot but it's been done before. The story needs to keep me in or the sex is pointless. Sorry but it might have been better even with all the action in it, somehow it did nothing for me. These stories are starting to sound the same! Maybe it's just me!

***3 Stars***

Let's start with the positive, shall we. When it comes to the editing and grammatical errors, this book is INFINITELY better than the first. I think maybe I noticed a couple throughout the whole book. So big thumbs up to the editor and beta readers!!

As far as the content, nothing too meaty here, but a fast, smut filled, cheese fest that fits the bill of what I was in the mood for and satisfied my craving.

However, I'm pretty sure that Trevor is taking crazy pills.

His obsession and possessiveness of Liz was bananas. Allow me to give an example. I'll only give one, because frankly this pretty much sums it up.

"I told her that I want to start working on getting her pregnant. I need to know that she is tied to me in a way that is unbreakable.....It might make me a controlling dick, but I need it. I have to know that we have something to tie us together through eternity."

Image result for shocked gif

Liz put up with it, well because what else could she do because if they weren't out in public then he had his cock inside of her or his face buried between her legs.

And on a serious note, can someone please come up with a better term than "eating?" I mean come on...I'm all for a dirty talker, but it was all "eat that pussy" or "I'm hungry and wanna eat, spread your legs" or "You like when I eat your pussy good?"

Sorry, I may be the only one, but it does nothing for me.

Also, looks like Liz joins November in the cry-at-the-drop-of-a-hat club. Someone needs to revoke their memberships! Buck up girls! Your life is NOT shit. You're getting cock on the regular, and yes the men say cheesy, over the top, romantic things but that is NO reason to start blubbering. Who wants a teary girlfriend all the time? Say "thank you," or "I love you," or "put your dick in my mouth" and move on. Stop the tears!

When it came to the flow of the book, it felt a little clunky. I'm not a big fan of time jumps but here you have a lot of instances where the paragraph or chapter starts in present day, with pages and pages (and sometimes an entire chapter) of recollecting what brought you to that point. Ummmmm, why not just tell me the story? Or maybe use that once or twice...not repeatedly. I had to reread a few times to figure out what was going on and where I was in the story.

Even though I had issues, I'm invested in this series and I'm dying to get to Cash's story (what a fucked up situation THAT is).

My sincerest apologies for all the ranting. All you Trevor lovers, please don't hurt me.

This is the second installment in the "Until series" and it is about Trevor and Liz. We meet this couple in the first book; but things don't go according to plan when there is a misunderstanding between Trevor and Liz. Trevor gets cold feet and makes the mistake of not claiming what he deems as "HIS." It doesn't take him long to figure out that he indeed has made a huge mistake, and needs to fix the damage he might of done to his chances of having some kind of future with Liz.

The thing with the Mayson Brothers is this: They call it the Mayson family curse; but I don't really think of it as a curse but more a theory! All of the bro's are man-whores...yes...they are. You see, none of them have even taken a woman out on a date. Instead, they let the women know that they are only after sex (a one night stand) and believe it or not; the sluts go for it! When a Mayson man finds the woman of his dreams though; all bets are off. A lightening bolt seems to hit them, and the alpha male rises to the occasion, and demands to take possession of the woman in question. Miraculously, when they come across this goddess, the guy just KNOWS!!! She is the one who he will fall in love with, get married with, and have his kids with! Yes, this is how it works. If I am being honest, I almost feel sorry for these women, because they are literally dragged away by these Mayson Cavemen!!! I said I ALMOST feel sorry for them!!! The fact is, they shouldn't complain...they get unlimited orgasms, a FINE looking man with rippling muscles, oh and undying love and affection! Hell, I'll put up with the alpha male to have me one of those!!!
So there you have what is the idea of the series with the Mayson Bro's.

Trevor stakes his claim with Liz, and we are taken on a wild journey of them being in love. There are a few road blocks in the way, but all in all this book I found had a lot of sex, and believe me...you don't want to miss dirty talking Trevor! He's wild in the sack, and his favorite thing is to please his lady!!

I still find these books to remind me of KA's alpha's; but this installment had more of Ms. Reynolds unique voice coming through this time. I find this series to be more on the lovey dovey side of life. Yes, there are a few situations that get thrown in; but the negativity doesn't seem to last for long, and then we are back to the "sex-a-thons!!!" LOL
I am enjoying the reads though, and I am hesitant to continue on to Cash's book next. He's got a real sticky situation that has come up, and I'm cringing just thinking about it..but in true "Jen style" I can't pass it up! I need to finish the series!! So onward I go, and I am happy to have found yet another author who I enjoy very much!

As pointed out by other reviewers, the stories of this series are relatively similar to books by Kristen Ashley.
Unfortunately, where Kristen Ashley manages to create slightly overbearing but still lovable alpha-males, the heroes here are mainly just arseholes... They don't listen and are very quick to just kiss and f*** the women into submission (and not the sexy kind of submission...)! Of course, KA's heroes aren't overly communicative either, but still they somehow manage to at least discuss the basics. In this book for example, Trevor doesn't listen at all what Liz has to say!!!! And even tough time passes and apparently he always has to think about what happened (he even dreams about it...), he doesn't learn anything!

All in all, she never gets a word in edgewise.
And what I find even more problematic, is that as soon as he touches, or kisses, or f**** her, she doesn't care at all! She thinks he's an arse and wants nothing to do with him, but then his lips touch hers and her 'brain is no longer in control.' Sure, that could be awesome and sexy (and it so often is in a KA book), but since it happens constantly, one just has to wonder if this woman has a backbone at all or maybe she's just not thinking with her brain in general.

This book could appeal to fans of KA, it just wasn't for me. Where I find some of KA's heroes just on the boarder of too overbearing, Trevor definitely crossed that line!! I don't see the sexy alpha male. I just see an arse with huge communication problems...

3 stars

This one is not so safety-gang-safe as the first. The H fucks OW even after he decides he wants the h and then runs off any man interested in the h. That is complete bullshit.

Man up or let her go.

This was the kind of hurtful cheating I hate and wonder why the author does this. Women don't want to be cheated on by a man they like/love/feel a connection with...that shit cuts. Especially when the H makes the h feel special or noticed. And I always hate it when h's rollover for it and forgive without making their pain vocal. That's not the bigger thing to do, that's allowing emotional pain to be minimized to make peace with the one who inflicted that shit.

I'm guessing the whole OTT Alpha male is so swoon worthy that the OW are forgiven cuz they weren't together yet. GTFO - it's wrong to sleep with someone else the minute either character realizes they feel something for the other.

Why 3 stars?
The writing was great...cannot stress that enough. This is a hard genre to always find that...and even somewhat consistently with an author.

The H felt like a carbon of Asher.
So does the next novel's H.
Rinse and repeat....and I'm OUT.

3,5 stars !
Considering I really loved the first book in the series, Until November, I didn’t hesitate and jumped right into the sequel ! An though I liked it, I didn’t love it as much as book 1.

I’ll say that my main issue with this book was that it felt too similar to the first one. This companion novel about Asher’s brother, Trevor, felt way too familiar and it took almost the same exact direction as Asher’s story, and I’m sorry to say this, but it wasn’t as well done as book 1. During my entire read of book 2, I always had this sense of déjà vu, like I had already read this story, which I did, because Trevor’s story was pretty much the same as his brother’s, Asher.
description

I wish as well that we had gotten flashbacks of how Trevor and Liz met in book 1, how they got to know each other, how they became friends and what happened to lead to them not being friends any longer at the beginning of the book. This lack of flashbacks led to me not really feeling their connection, I was like “Why do they even like each other ?” because we never got to see how their relationship and connection formed and developped.

“This is going to happen.”
“What ?” I ask, my eyebrows drawn together in confusion. His finger comes up and skims down the center of my face, forehead t chin.

Also, I didn’t see any difference between Trevor and his brother Asher. It’s like you can’t tell them apart since they practically have the same personality. Trevor was the same cocky, bossy and possessive alpha male. However, though I really loved bossy Asher in book 1, I thought Trevor was a bit too much, he was sometimes overly bossy and possessive, and at some point, it got a little tiring and exasperating, even a tiny bit ridiculous.

Once Trevor is behind the wheel, he starts up the truck and begins to back out of our parking space.

As for the girl, Liz, she was okay, she was sweet, a bit insecure, but gained more confidence towards the end. She was not as funny, sassy and badass as November, but she was still quite enjoyable. Also, I thought the ending regarding the side plot with Liz’s brother was a little confusing and didn’t really make sense, and felt just like in book 1 botched.

“So are you and Liz living together ?”
“Yes, but don’t tell her I told you that.”
“So you’re living together but she doesn’t know it ?”
“Pretty much.” I shrug.
He laughs. “Let me know how that works out for you.”

I know that I sound like this book was bad, but it really wasn’t. I still had a lot of fun reading this, it was light, funny, and the sexy times were even more present and hotter than in the first book (^^), it was very enjoyable. The only thing is that it was way too similar to the first one and Trevor was a little over-the-top at times. Overall, I just felt like I was reading the first book all over again.

So now, I’m afraid to read book 3 and get yet again the same story and the same guy :(

3.5 Got Kitty Stars!!

The 2nd installment in this series is very similar to the 1st. Alpha, check. Feisty heroine, check. Lots of sex, check. Mystery/Suspense, element, check. One exception though. This alpha, Trevor Mayson, is on The POOSAY DIET.

What do you mean, you ask? Well...

He eats it....
description

He licks it...
description

He sucks it....
description

HE TALKS ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME.

description

I get it man. You like the poosay, the poosay is your friend. But, I think you may actually have a problem, a poosay problem that is. He talked about the poosay so much, it was almost comical, like bahahaha going downtown again Trevor, you little nut.

description

Other than the poosay, I still liked the book, a little cheesy, a lot of poosay. Just didn't like it quite as much as the 1st, hard to beat Asher. See ya kitty!

~~~~~~~~~ 2.5 TO 3 STARS ~~~~~~~~~
Hmmmm...Have you ever read a book that made you say, HMMMMM....?
This is the second book in the 'Until' series and unfortunately for me wasn't as good as 'Until November'. The premise of the series is good. Four brothers--Asher, Trevor, Cash and Nico Mayson--are all players until THE BOOM, referring to the woman that changes them and makes them want things they never thought they did.
Asher had his BOOM with November and now Trevor gets his with Liz Hayes. This time around wasn't as interesting although I was really anticipating Trevor's story.
I love alphas but Trevor was a little over-the-top at times. He did things that I would not tolerate from my husband. He was sweet and caring and had some tender moments, but in general he didn't win me over. Liz was sometimes lacking a backbone. She blindly went along with his demands--not requests, DEMANDS--and even when she should have stopped him or tore a strip off him she followed. I didn't understand why she was described as strong.
There was some suspenseful drama infused just like Until November but it still fell short for me. Next up is Cash and Lilly's story which sounds to be interesting but I'm hesitating. The books tend to follow a formula and I'm not sure I'm up for another but we'll see.
