Short stories with moral
This is another scary short story book with morals from the author. The stories are cute and short with a lesson for us all to learn. The books handle issues children face in the world from being accepted, belonging, what is right and wrong, and the fear of the unknown. I just wish that the stories had been written in presence to make the reader experience them rather than been told.

Another Great Volume of Scary Stories
This was another great book in the series of Be Afraid. It's a perfect book for both children and adults. There are many stories here that not only capture the attention of children, learning how to face your fears, but for adults as well. Many of the stories left you hanging on the edge of your seat, wondering hiw the characters would escape such a terrifying situation. The stories also present everyone with simple reminders that even though things seem impossible, don't let fear overtake you. There is courage within everyone.
Highly recommend for scary story collectors!

A good introduction to the genre.
This is a collection of short stories suitable for 7 to 12. Good introduction to the genre that can be done in bedtime story sized increments without risking nightmares. Each story explores a theme children frequently struggle with, gives them some manifestation in the story and show how to overcome that fear without getting preachy or too predictable. The short format can make it hard to get invested in the characters, but it also means the action comes quickly so it can hold attention. Overall enjoyed.

Creepy Crawlers and more!
Another great set is spooky stories for the kids! It held up fantastic to the original novel with some longer stories this time around. I love the references of Batman and Beauty & the Beast, if I was a kid I would have absolutely been psyched to see familiar names appear in a book like this. I may not have the same nostalgia but I still throughly enjoyed them and got a smile out of it.
The perfect sequel for kids who enjoy horror and creepy stories, at the perfect level of spooky. Thank you for sharing such lovely stories.

"Can you cheese stop chasing us". Hilarious spunk for the first read. Made my night in a smirking laugh. Sheesh. I recommend this for anyone who wants to get their slice of kids story in a good scary and really good laughs here and there. These fourteen short stories, in my opinion, are aimed at older kids and teenagers. If you plan to read them to younger children, check them out first as you might find the choice of topic inappropriate.
I enjoyed Be Afraid, volume one, but not so much volume two. It could be the overuse of passive verbs. On the positive side, the stories do push a moral or a life lesson.
If you're a fan of strange, unusual or spooky, this collection is for you.

Another Great Book of Strange and Scary Stories
This is another great book of short scary stories in this series for kids of all ages. I like how it's an interesting blend of scary, strange (but entertaining), and comical tales. That's what children especially like (think of the popular "Goosebumps" series for kids). The illustrations are very unique and well done. Great morals as well. Recommended.

Fun, Well Written Short Stories
Just like Book 1, this series continues to be quite enjoyable for the younger and even older audience. My nephew stole my kindle and didn't stop until he read it all, and then demanded book 3. I gave them a read myself and found them quite enjoyable as well

Lovely for the young reader or a read to book.
This is my second book by this author, lovely well written stories my favourite being 'I am Batman'.
A variety of stories that can be a little frightening and some a bit funny, all with a message in them.
I read the stories to my 9 year old nephew, he loved them.
Recommended.

A great find! My kids and I enjoyed this unexpectedly great little book. A good variety of entertaining, often mildly scary, and funny stories that all kids and adults will love. We found the moral messages at the end of each story were interesting but not preachy. Helped my kids talk about the meaning behind each story, a great book to start discussions. Great book. Highly recommended.

Another wonderful collection of short stories for kids. I think out of all of them I loved the one called. I am Batman. This one is a bit of a mix with some about monsters some about strange incidences and others about mysterious creatures. The book is awesome because it kind off shows the kids that it is okay to be afraid and some fears should be faced.

Once again this book brings me back to my childhood with a scary twist. Well written stories that paint a picture for each scenario. Once again will recommend these stories to young cousins. Cannot wait to read the third volume.

This is a great book. My family and I really enjoyed it. Nice illustrations, very original ideas, made us think and discuss things afterwards. Deep messages, told simply. Thia book is really different to anything our there. Great work!

Well written and easy to read for children aged 8 to 12. The author really took the inner step to go back in time to write from the children perspective of what they are afraid. Zak's fourteen short stories become helpers for children who are afraid. Well done!
