He was everything I shouldn't want, and everything I can't live without.

Finding out I was pregnant at the age of forty-five after a holiday fling with a man twelve years my junior came as a bit of a shock. What was even more surprising was that this man was also my soul mate. He stepped up and put our relationship first. Max and I are everything that shouldn’t work. With his boyish charm, positive attitude and loyal determination, he is a lot of what I felt I didn’t deserve.

Now, here we are navigating a new life together. Within twelve months we have met, broken up, found out we were pregnant and reconciled. Our life is filled with both highs and lows, our challenges coming from the outside rather than each other.

A change in the health of his aunt causes us to divert our course. At a time where external pressures become more difficult, we pack up to return to the Spanish sunshine where our love story began. But this year, we have our baby boy in tow. Jackson is the apple of his daddy’s eye. My little prince that I never knew I wanted.

But with our vast difference in age and polarised life experiences, will we be able to ride the waves and create a happy family that will survive the storm?

Author note: This book is a spicy contemporary romance and is recommended for readers aged eighteen years and over. It is book two in the Under the Sun duet. Please read Discovering Me first.

ARC Review of Embracing Us by V.R. Tennent
* * * * *
Part two of this fantastic reverse age-gap romance with a baby surprise is still packing all the drama! Family issues, betrayal, mental health issues, horrible exes and highly delicious steamy scenes.

Linda and Max are starting their life together as parents. They love their little baby, and trying to make it work with all the judgement from Linda's family - specifically her brother and her own daughter. Max is doing the best he can to help Linda through these troubles, including the ones about herself.
They are a couple that is so sweet and supportive of one another, though many times their bond is tested.
Things are not over yet folks!

Linda's daughter is starting to show her toxic colours and Linda is starting to get really irritated. Loving how jealousy can really bloom in a love that should always have a strong bond and see how it unfolds. Will it heal or will it break? In addition, Max is still suffereing his own issues after the horrible accident near the end of the first book, leaving him with guilt and nightmares, highlighting the importance of seeking out help in trauma and how man need it even when they try to pretend they are fine.
Really enjoyed this first duet and few books from this author, will plan to come back to V.R. Tennent later on!

"She thinks I saved her and gave her hope. She will never understand the strength she gives me"
-Max

After reading the first book in this series I knew in my heart that Linda and Max's characters were perfectly made for each other in every way and this continued to be true after reading Embracing Us. Not only did Max and Linda discover themselves as individuals but they also learned how to embrace each other as a team and it was absolutely beautiful. They over came so many struggles, pain and demons but came out of it so much stronger in the end. I was not expecting to fall even more in love with Max and Linda but I did - I cannot recommend this series enough! VR Tennent created an amazing story with perfectly imperfect characters and I enjoyed every second of it!

*Thank you to VR Tennent for an eARC copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in the duet and once again VR Tennent as done it again
You must read Discovering me to really understand what happen with Max and Linda
I love Max and Linda’s story and the love they have for each other of course they have there ups and downs and with Linda’s daughter trying to course trouble between them and they have a new baby. But they have worked hard to be where they are with each other.

When they go to where it all started they find out Max’s aunt as had a change in her health, so they have to make some decisions.
But they love being in the place where it all started and be there with their son.
With the trouble that Linda daughter seems to course, can they make it .

At the end of book 1 we left Max and Linda leaving the hospital with their baby son Jackson and book 2 takes up the story from there. They continue to go through several changes in their life together in this book. You learn more about their relationships with others, with some surprises, and how their relationship continues to grow, their bond deepening and the spice steps up too.

Linda grows in confidence which is a beautiful thing, allowing her to finally fully accept their happiness. Max continues to be the perfect partner and with his new role of father he is fully content. Life throws more at the couple to navigate, some annoying, some good and some sad but this time they’re in it together. Beautiful words told in a very real life way.

This duet, this book, Max and Linda wow, it's so refreshing to have a couple who are so secure in their relationship and are ridiculously in love . This story is so realistic, that you feel like maybe someone out there has most definitely had this experience for real. It was such a pleasure reading these two and the secondary characters are so lovable.
Of course both of them have their ups and downs , it's good to read a story where it just brings some calm n serenity to you. This one did just that. Make sure you read Discovering me first and then this one. It's a duet.
I'm sitting here finishing reading this book and just have a contented smile. That's how it's ought to be!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Max and Linda will always have a special place in my heart, it was where my reading journey with Victoria started nearly a year ago with a little novella ft these two. I'm so pleased that they got more, they certainly deserved it. Their trials and tribulations. And Marina 😡.
I had the pleasure of beta reading this story and I just adored it, just like book one.
Seeing how happy Max was and how confident Linda became was beautiful to see. What a couple they are 🥵. Who knew that Max that stunning man you'd take home to meet your parents was utterly filthy 🥵.
As usual I loved this book and Victoria's words!

I’ve been lucky enough to read this as an ARC and this review is my honest opinion.

Lovely ending to Linda and Max’s story. I enjoyed the development of their relationship and how Max helped Linda become more confident and how she supported him following the accident and some surprising information he has thrust on him.

Their spicy-ness was also kicked up a notch and it fit in well with their relationship development.

Marina had me sooooooo mad but I do truly believe that she wanted to make amends, her story would be interesting to follow.

Make sure you read Discovering Me first to understand the whole relationship progression.

This is the second and conclusion of this incredible duet, and Linda and Max’s journey continues. Linda receives a shocking surprise at the end of the summer holidays, but Max is there determined to support her. Linda’s daughter is causing trouble for them, and then Max’s aunt’s heath changes, so some decisions need to be made. This is a well written conclusion, which is easy to read, with family, humor, emotions, challenges, romance, reverse age gap, and love, which leads to an entertaining and compelling page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.

I love this couple.

Max and Linda are an amazing couple. They had issues with other people in their past, but were able to work through it together. Now they're married and happier than ever.

I love how there are actually real world problems in their lives. VR writes these books so well and addresses issues that we see every day head on. I will definitely be reading more of them.

Linda and Max are so happy. And their baby boy completes them. but Lindas daughter Marina hates it as she has issues with it and will do anything to hurt her mum. Linda and Max take their son to Spain to his aunt Susans hotel, and she has a Favour to ask. This book is very emotional. Max is just so funny with some of his words. And antics Will Marina break them and will Linda finally get more stronger in herself beautiful read.

Why did this just make me not like Marina even more.. but so happy because Max is so secure and Linda is thriving in their relationship! I was rooting for them in book one and so glad they worked out and stay that way. This book made me their biggest supporter and had me so happy in the end!

I want to thank the author for gifting me the ebook and note this review was left voluntarily and all thoughts/opinions above are my own!

Wow is all I have to say! I absolutely love every book I’ve read by VR Tennant. She writes amazing love stories with self discovery.

This book is the sequel to Discovering Me and picks up where that book ends.

You have Linda who is a divorced woman in her 40’s and Max, her younger guy.

This book is about embracing yourself and love. Even if it doesn’t make sense for others. You have to live life and be happy, and that’s what Linda does with Max.

Story 4.5⭐️
Spice 5⭐️🌶️

I didn’t enjoy this sequel as much as the first book. It was all very predictable. These books were written about a British couple but some words that were used are American and the spelling of some words were also not British. This needs to be addressed if the books are to be believable

Such a beautiful, emotional and heartfelt story. Max and Linda's journey has had many ups and downs this ending to their story was so well deserved. While there were still road bumps to deal with in their relationship, it stayed strong and that's exactly what I wanted and they deserved. While there are still moments of heartbreak and some anger, there is also happiness, growth and oh some major spice!! I highly recommend this V.R.Tennent wrote another amazing story to get lost in!
