In a treacherous swamp, Jay finds himself bound to a sinister witch through a pact he reluctantly struck. In exchange for her life-saving healing, Jay has agreed to serve the witch by hunting down her enemies. Asra, his wounded vampire companion, depends on harnessing the witch's dark powers to survive, making the pact a necessary but uneasy alliance. Jay believes this vampire's partnership is his only chance to steal necromancy secrets from her so-called academy.
As Jay navigates this intricate web of bargains and secrets, he must grapple with the consequences of his choices—balancing the price of survival against the allure of power. Amid shocking discoveries, he realizes that a single decision can tip the scales, setting in motion events that will forever change his destiny and Asra's fate.
Join Jay and Asra on an enthralling odyssey as they uncover secrets, confront otherworldly creatures, and challenge enigmatic forces. Will Jay find a way to fulfill his end of the deal and break free from the swamp witch's control? Or will the pursuit of power lead to irreversible repercussions, reshaping the fate of the world forever?
Needs a revision to fix all the weird word choices and errors. Example: someone quickly ceased an opportune attack. Should have been seized. Cease means stop and seized means grab hold of so…., Another example a very large insect gets hit and the legs start their circadian rhythm….(?) A circadian rhythm is something that happens regularly every 24 hours due to an external stimulus, like the sun coming up causing you to wake up. I assure you that there no circadian rhythms tied to being hit in the head during a fight. Also, there are no breaks between one paragraph and another to indicate people and location have changed. Very confusing half way into a paragraph to realize it’s not about the people you thought it was. I keep having to restart a paragraph so that I can keep up with who you are talking about. The story is interesting enough that if it were better written I would buy a copy but as it is, it’s only because it’s free with kindle unlimited that I read it. Please fix it.
I love all the characters. The world is so deeply rich and filled with highs and lows loss and growth i just can't get enough. 10 out of 10. Each side character is interesting enough to be a main character they are just as intriguing as Jay and ech is only getting better as the story progress.
Really decent story but the uploaded broke a couple of books up into 11. Very annoying. A whole book went by and nothing really happens. Good enough to read but not a lot of substance
